My humble apologies fellow blogians! I have been traveling out of state as of late, and am even now adding this thread from the great state of Texas. My cell phone was very active today with calls about Senator Vitter's visit to Alexandria today as well as Bobby Jindal's visit as well.
I am sure that our city councilmen are behaving a bit more conservatively these days... they may be next. The President of the New Orleans council resigned yesterday after being indicted by the feds after being caught accepting kick backs. His "take" was less than $15,000. He should have run for Congress where you are able to take $90,000 and allow it to go unreported!

So, Toni Martin has already presented the City of Alexandria with a bill for $16,000 for legal services from August 15 through Sept.4! What in the hell did she do and who authorised this? At this rate, she can bill the city about $32,000 monthly, about $384,000 a year! If she can get this much, just think what Bridgette Brown can get!

Ms. Martin has nothing to justify her services except her race. If you were in the courtroom Friday you would have seen her do absolutely nothing but sit there with a blank uncomprehending stare and log billable hours. Jock Scott specifically told me during the Brewer campaign that he had read the depositions from the Cleco litigation and that some of the councilmen had criminal exposure and with regard to hiring of consultants, the council should establish a set of criteria and entertain applications based on those criteria. He seldom missed an opportunity to slam Myron and Bridgett and thought that Bridget should lose her law license. How could Jock fall so far so fast? How could he treat people who have stuck with him since his Bolton High student counsel day with such contempt and disregard, and how can he do this to Alexandria?
"Jock" is right because he has the city by the balls.

Seems like they have conceded on the council issue, and have just lost the first battle.
Jock's a smart lawyer. He could have agreed to the charges being dropped against his client, but he knows he's got a winner with this.
Or, perhaps Beck was trying to eliminate the justification for council legal representation, resolve the charter issue, and save the city some mooolah.
Didn't the city council violate their own recntly passed resolution when they met in "executive session"? They must be in a regularly scheduled or a meeting held with proper notice and if need be, go into executive session. Looks like another complaint is in order Monday.
Spanky, I think you are right. There are special procedures that control executive sessions and I think that they have the same public notice requirement. I don't know if there is an emergency exception or something like that.
Nobody has commented on the fact that some "phantom" put a bogus and misleading directive on his desk so he reads it like it was the edict of the council. There must have been some notice, however, because Bridget knew to be there. I saw her up around Hobb's desk. Hmmmmm

This is the fallacy of the Charter there is no independent third branch of government. The Judicial Branch is an employee of the Executive Branch. Hardly unbiased.
No one is charged with, in the Charter, with interpretation of the Charter. So, once again, does Roy run to the courts anytime the Council does something he doesn't like.
Roy has not been annointed King or an Alexandria Supreme Court Justice, merly elected as Mayor. Johnson has not been annointed as an Alexandria Supremem Court Justice. He is an employee of the Mayor.
The legal opinion of every lawyer involved, ne it City Attorney, local Attorneys are Attorneys assisting the Council in this mater mean absolutly nothing. Randow can rule, his ruling can be appealed and appealed and appaeled.
In this election you got Alexandria Royalty (Lamar White, Jr.) French Royalty (the mayor who is French not Acadians) and African RoyaltyJohnson (would the Maor appoint someone not on his side.) Hell of a generation. Throw in Von Jennings with her Political degree, the entire screwed up City Atorney's Office and ths is what you got. Trey was satisfied kissing the Council's ass until Royboy came on board then overnight he grew a set of balls. Still sucking up just different persons.
I can't imagine how we could ask any more of this administration than it is already giving. There was always the easy way out - Randolph took it and created the problems that Roy and the rest of of Alexandrians inherited. I am always afraid that Roy will just say "fuck-it" and give up. Wrong again - Roy filed sued both as Mayor and as an individual. Beck et al are representing Roy as Mayor; Roy Sr. represents him as an individual. As such any fees paid Roy Sr. must be paid by the Mayor personally.
I don't car how Roy Senior is involved. According to all the genius, all knowing Charter interpreters and Code of Ethics interpreters Jock Scott can not donate his time and services to the Council. If Royboy wants this "perfect government" he speaks of he should publish his contract with Senior. When the dust settles he should also publish his cancelled check paying Senior.
The problem with the Charter is there is not 3 independent branches of government. Power is supposed to be shared. The Council is trying to keep what it perceives as its power and the Mayor feels tasked with taking away their power, making it a powerful Mayoral form of Government and, along with his sidekick Chucky, putting the Council in their place.

It is our business to know about conatracts we will pay for, but if Roy enters into a private contract with his own father it is none of our business. I saw some disturbing photos this weekend. The handicap parking place in front of the Rapides Parish courthouse was occupied by a big white truck with a big green sheriff candidate's sign in the back.
It seems this big white truck is owed by the candidate and was parked in the handicap spot for over an hour this time. I say this time, because it was reported that this truck occupies this handicap parking spot on a regular basis.
It is a shame when someone running for the top law enforcement spot in the parish, does not obey the laws himself. No one is above the law, not even law enforcement officers.

Big white pick up truck with a big green campaign sign. The type of truck is really not important. The point is that a candidate for sheriff was illegally parked in a handicap parking spot.
Did you check real good to see if the truck had handicapped plates? Bet the la about handicapped parking doesn't say anything about what may or may not be in the bed of the truck. I thin it concerns the physical status of the driver.
Are these photo's digital photo's? Were they taken by Blaymond? Are you Blaymond? Have these phto's been turned over to the crime lab to see if they have been altered. We need to get to the bottom of this major felony of big truck illegally parked.

I think the mayor did the right thing and the only thing he could justifiably do on the pants ordinance. It has not been held unconstitutional and it was the will of the council so he advised them of his concerns and allowed it to become law. It is not his job to substitute his judgment for the judgment and will of the council unless the council violates the charter or other organic law. This is our council and Roy only had one vote like the rest of us. This council is our fault and our responsibility. The mayor and administration are doing their job.
Lets all get behind "THE BIG CREEK 6" - a half a dozen misguided West Virginia white folks that held a black woman prisoner and torchered and sexually molester her and used racial taunts.
We need to get behind these misunderstood victims of racial profiling.

Whoever showed you those photos is a LYING IDIOT. That candidate DOES NOT own a white pickup truck. If you don't believe me, run the license plate on the truck (they probably conveniently didn't get any pics of the license plate though...). Having known David since we were young children and knowing Lucille for many, many years I take great exception to the disparing remarks you made about my friends Aymond.
First of all extra portions at Red Kettle are not unusual. As the many patrons know Lucille wants you to leave satisfied. She, as well as the other employees, are constantly asking customers if they have had enough.
The law enforcement official of which you speak is, as I am , "plump". We appreciate the extra portions.

MYKAEL BELL’S CASE HAS BEEN THROWN OUT OF THE ADULT COURT BY THIRD CIRCUIT!

Mykael Bell’s September 20th sentencing date in now moot. We broke this story at 3:30 pm Statewide on KAYT 88.1 with a live break-in. The planned protest rally is now officially a celebration, this is truly an historic ruling. The case now goes back to the Juvenile court where according to all of Bell’s attorneys, Louis Granderson Scott, Robert S. Noel II and Peggy J. Sullivan.
I am reading the ruling that was faxed to me at 3:25pm Friday 14, day of September.
WRIT GRANTED AND MADE PERMPRORY: STAY DENIED: The trial court erred in denying Defendant’s motion in arrest of judgement regarding his conviction for aggravated second degree battery.The defendent was not tried on an offense which could have subjected him to the jurisdiction of the criminal court pursuant to either La Ch Code arts.305 or 857; therefore the provision of La Ch Code art 863, permitting the trial court to retain criminal jurisdiction over juvenile defendants under limited circumstances, is inapplicicable, and jurisdiction remains exclusively in the juvenile court.
Accordingly, the ruling of the trial court denying defendant’s motion in arrest of judgement, as to his conviction for aggravated second degree battery, is herby “REVERESED, VACATED AND SET ASIDE.”
What this basically says in laymens terms…Reed Walters your were wrong to remove then 16 year old Mykale Bell from the Juvenile system back on December 5th a day after you trumped the charges to Murder. Judge J.P. Mauffrey You were wrong when the attorneys argued more with you than the D.A. when you denied thier motion to set aside his adult conviction.
What happens now, hopefully thejuvenile court will reduce the charge to misdemeanor assault, and Mykael can be released as soon as possible for having served more than enough time for that charge. At the very least his Bail will be reduced to an appropriate and legal amount.
What about the rest of the Jena Six, competent attorneys would ask for a change of venue. The children willnot get a fair trial in La Salle parish.
We still look forward to seeing everyone for the March on Jena…now that we have justice…lets make sure we keep the peace!

You are lamebrain. A request was made that the carry out, which was PAID FOR, be loaded with a extra portion. The fact that the carry out plate contained an extra portion is purely subjective as the ammount of food contained on the plate for the price paid is a call made by the restaurant owner.
No ethics violation here.
If you disagree, have the guts to file a formal complaint and see how far it gets you.

I am a Grant Parish resident. I confronted Aymond, nose to nose in the parking lot of WW #3 after a heated board meeting when Aymond was atty for the board. Aymond had lied to boadr members concerning property boundries and the rights the employees of the district had to enter private property to gain access to Big Creek.
At this meeting Aymond called me a liar. I waited for him in the parking lot.
When I confronted him, Aymond whined that he had to put on a show in front of the board because he had to appear strong in front of them in order to keep his job. He admitted that my property was legally posted and that employees had no right to enter my place. He whined like a little girl and begged and pleaded for me not to whip his ass right then and there.
Aymond is all hat and no cattle. He knows nothing about the law, and when confronted, he'll fold like a house of cards. He's gutless.

According to today's Town Talk photo, Daphne has finally turned white, which means she will have to start competing on merit and ability instead of racial entitlement. She ain't gonna like that.

Mr. Fourchette, the only case I recall where the board paid anything to a prtoperty owner was in a lawsuit to expropriate a pipeline servitude. The landowner refused to allow the water district a servitude to repair a leak on a major line, so I filed an expropriation suit to obtain the necessary land. That lanmdowner was represented by Will Polk. Was that the matter you are speaking of? If so I did obtain the servitude, which, of course, the district was required to pay for. If not that matter, give us more details like when and where. For 16 years as their lawyer, I never lost a case. So give some facts, if you are not simply full of shit.
Since you gentlemen are barking and threatening at one another (Heath included) and you all know how and when to find each other and have all challenged each other to a pugislitic encounter, there should be at least one bloody nose by Wednesday or you are all mouthy weiners who lack the courage to stand behind your taunts.
If you will look back, I have never said I was going to whip anybody's ass. I have simply said that all the motuhy ones that want to whip mine are welcome to come on and do it. I find no posting that Heath accussed Blaymond of telling a lie. I find no post of Heath saying anything about physical violence towards Blaymond. All I see is him supporting a friend and wanting to share his opinion of Blaymond with Blaymond. Any thing else would have resulted in an immediate lawsuit by Blaymond.

Nothing more needs to be said. Fochett's land was illegally tresspassed upon by WW#3 because Aymond did not represent his client well. Aymond's misrepresentation cost the taxpayers $12,000 in settlement costs in compensation for the illegal tresspass.
Somehow Aymond, in his twisted mind, believes his limitations as an attorney are the fault of Fochett. The $12,000 payment to Fochett proves that the liability rests with Aymond.
The long, rambling, curse word filled post by Aymond means he discovered Fochett is correct in his statement of the facts, and Aymond, with this post, is trying to cover it up.
Not so my dimwitted friend. I did not make the post you refered to. Also, I am still awaiting any dates, names or locations to get the documents or other proof to either prove or disprove Fochett's allegations. Why won't you, since you seem to know so much about those facts, or Fochett (whose address, name nor phone number was I able tyo locate in several phone books or online) simply provide the proof needed to substantiate your claims.
I spoke to the present and former general managers of the Water District, and they state that they have no knowledge of such allegations. I can also assure you of several things: 1). The employees and engineers of the Water District decided where to dig ditches, not their attorneys. 2). If on Big Creek, most of that land in that area is owned by the U.S. Forrest Service. 3). I have never in my life advised any client to trespass on someone else property. and, 4). Although I have had my ass whipped before, I have never whined or pleaded to ANY man to avoid an ass whuppin.
Therefore, until you, Fourchett or Heath, if you are not all one in the same, provide some proof of these allegations, it appears that you, or them, are full of shit!
Just read some of the comments today about yesterday's diversity program meeting. well it seems the ol' Mayor and his assistant Von have gone off and set up their own program and NOT looked at the guidelines the State of Louisiana already has in place for such a program. IF it is true one's resident is included in their net worth for the City, that is crap. The state's small and emerging program specifically EXCLUDES one's private home.
IF you're going to set up a program, why would you not mimic what is already in place at the state level so small business does not already have to duplicate their certification efforts? Why would you not accept the certificate from the state level?

Just a casual observation, but despite numerous requests by multiple posters on this site over several months, nobody has yet been able to enumerate Maxwell's accomplishments or experience, and the people who new Maxwell when he worked for the late Judge Dexter Ryland, say he was essentially worthless. They can't comment on his skills because he never did anything. He was hired as a political favor to the pentacostals and always acted like he was above work, consequently he never did any. Wouldn't you think that, over the past months, some Maxwell supporter could attempt an answer?
He has already listed his work experience on Moon's radio program several months ago and at several speeches I have heard him give. Just because he is out-working and out-polling your candidate....don't get upset. By the way...who is your candidate and why is he more qualified?

Really? How do you know? Long gun registration is not required in the State of Louisiana. Federal form 4477 resides with the dealer and is not public. If he bought recently, the FBI check is also non public and is not even available to local law enforcement except as a serial number.
In other words, you're full of shit, and could not prove Lance's gun ownership one way or the other.
You provide paperwork and gun dealer, that he bought one before today and I will vote for him.

Police in Norfolk, Va., are investigating whether an alleged attack against a 13-year-old boy that witnesses caught on tape Saturday was racially motivated, WAVY-TV reported Monday.
The tape shows the victim, Damien O'Rourke, who is white, being violently beaten by a group of African American teenagers. According to the report, Damien and his mother, Reesha Price, said the fight was unprovoked and believe Damien was attacked because he is white.
Damien said he was attacked while going to meet friends to play football. Price told WAVY-TV that she found her badly beaten son just blocks from her home after receiving a phone call alerting her to the attack Saturday afternoon.
The family had just recently moved to the Norfolk area, WAVY-TV reported. Damien said one of his alleged attackers was among a group of students at his school that mistreated him because he was the new kid. Price told WAVY-TV that she now fears her son is being targeted because of his race.
Norfolk police reportedly told WAVY-TV that their gang unit will be investigating the case.

A long gun can be sold between individuals without paperwork, a longgun can be given as a gift without paperwork, a longgun can be inherited, a long gun could have been bought without paperwork way before the Bradys and Clintons and other f'ed up Democrats started their attack on the second amendment and there is no law stating I must maintain paperwork showing I bought a longgun. And, finally, it is illegal to compile records of gun purchases and use this as a data base of gun owners.
