My humble apologies fellow blogians! I have been traveling out of state as of late, and am even now adding this thread from the great state of Texas. My cell phone was very active today with calls about Senator Vitter's visit to Alexandria today as well as Bobby Jindal's visit as well.
I am sure that our city councilmen are behaving a bit more conservatively these days... they may be next. The President of the New Orleans council resigned yesterday after being indicted by the feds after being caught accepting kick backs. His "take" was less than $15,000. He should have run for Congress where you are able to take $90,000 and allow it to go unreported!

Oh Hell no, you're not starting a new thread when I'm mad about something. I posted this before being rudely interupted:
Wait, Wait, wait just a minute. Stop the train. Roy raised hell, enticed a KKK man to rush to his aide, which fanned the fuels of racism, all because he didn't get his way on showing a meeting on a channel nobody watches, all over a fine of $100????
I thought folks were going to jail, being forced from office, etc. This is some BS!!!
Roy's acting like a child. hell, I thought somebody ahd done something really bad.

Folks - the ethics complaint spoken of is independent of the "open meetings" violation. Word has it that there was a separate "ethics complaint" against MYRON only because of his office sharing arrangement with Bridgett Brown and his cramming her "less than needed" legal services down the City's throat. That is what has KING MYRON so worried. MYRON baby needs him a "lawyafohim."
why would that cause fowler to hire a personal atty????
the only stink so far has been the secret meeting accusation, and it just wasted taxpayer money.
Ask Fowler - I suspect he's trying to isolate himself from Myron and his puppets on the "open meetings" violation investigation by the A.G./D.A. Don't confuse a complaint with the ethics commission with an "open meetings" violation complaint with the A.G. or D.A. They are neither mutually extensive nor exclusive.
Keep your eyes on the ball here and don't get bogged down in the muck. Myron is a master at misdirection.
problem is, the publics eye has been on this KKK/meeting fiasco.
If another complaint arises, the majority of voters WILL SCREAM STOP THIS NONSENSE!!
I watched this week's meeting and what I heard Fowler say was that he went and visited with his friend Judge Humphries in relation to passing the ordinance to hire Jock Scott. I did not hear him mention anything about asking him to defend him in the open meetings issue should it arise. He wanted his opinion on whether the case law being stated supported the ordinance since Humphries is the Humphries in Roy v Humphries.
As far as who remained in the room when they came back, only Chuck Fowler and CFS would not have been called and asked to vote because they didn't return to the meeting after the executive session - they went back to work. It would appear the phone calls or whatever means was used to poll the council only went to Myron, Harry, Louis, and Roosevelt.
You have not been paying attention.
I told you about a month and a half ago that you would begin to see the city council become very uncomfortable and that the actions would be shots across the bow - warning shots if you will.
Some of you scoffed.
Some of you are now paying attention.
Tell your councilman to staighten up and do right by the citizens or the severity and frequency will increase.
No fooling.
If the ethics complaint against Myron was filed by the local KKK Attorney-at-Law Plumber there is as much chance of something happening as a snowball surviving in hell. One would think the Atorney General and the Ethics Committee have a special file for their daily Aymond mail delivery.
What is cute is to watch this blog site operate on emotion instead of fact and knowledge. $100.00 HA HA HA and the penalty for and what constitutes a violation is contained in the City Charter.
Happy trails to you.
I wonder if Oliver M. Thomas Jr. laughed so heartily before his Fed slapdown over $15,000.00?
The boys better start tidying up the records is all I can say.
He who laugh last - laugh best.
Spanky, have you EVER successfully finished anything that you started? Ever?
Ever?
Ticks and Stones May Break My Bones - Words, Words, Words.
So now it (what ever it is) has esculated to a Federal Offense. Shit we just gonna by-pass the local DA, the State AG and go for the feds. Spanky you been drinking out of the same water bucket that Aymond drinks out of?
"Sticks and Stones... wish I could type.
And no Spanky finishes nothing just stirs shit.
You folks are delusional.
Do you really think that the voters (only 9% showed for thelast tax election are going to stand up for anything?
Folks in the black community have become as apathetic as the white folks and think that someone will take care of whatever.
No, there will be no outcry.
Folks will only shake their heads as they proceed to make a living and take care of whatever presssing daily business they have.
City Government has become a sideshow to the everyday person and most could care less.
Who really cares?
I would bet that AG Foti would love to accent his chances of returning to office by being a government corruption fighter.
We shall see.
By the way, izzat you MG?
I don't mean to offend. I just wonder if you are the leader we should follow. You talk soooo much and accomplish soooo little.
When important issues are promoted by people of questionable or historically ineffective do-nothing reputations, it tends to deflect from the important issues and just be about the "promoter". I am told by persons familiar with your past and present that you are bright and insightful and amazingly sloth. Just consider the possibility that you (like Mr. Aymond) get in the way of and tend to obstruct real progress. Just wondering.
In order to clarify Spanky's $15,000.00 statement the following is presented. One would have to draw the conclusion that Spanky has Myron admitting to being guilty of receiving bribes and resigning. Hell of a leap even for Spanky.
Oliver Thomas Plead Guilty To Bribery In August Of 2007
According to thenewsstar.com, “The vice president of the City Council, once thought to be a likely candidate for mayor in 2010, resigned Monday after pleading guilty to taking $15,000 in bribes from a businessman who wanted to maintain a lucrative city contract.”
Y'all are still missing the point. Neither Chuck Johnson nor Jock Scott can give (taxpayer funded) legal advice or representation to Myron or any other councilperson regarding this type of ethics complaint.
Not missing the point at all. Just not responding to your mis-use of words. Scott can "give" anything he wants to. Your statement should be (though not proven yet) Scott cannot be reimbursed with taxpayer's money.....
I know the typical response will be how nitpicky. Courts operate on the meaning of laws. Laws are comprised of words. How the law is worded will determine what it means - as an example the $100.00 fine for Open Meeting violation. Bet that scared the hell out of the Council. As another example - Fowler hiring Humphries. He never said that. He said Humphries is his friend and he consults with him.
To much bullshit being posted and not enoughy fact.
If you don't know what the periods mean they mean basically fill in the blanks. As in:
Scott cannot be compensated with taxpayer funds to represent or advise Myron in a lawsuit filed by a citizen unless Myron wins and an Ordnance is passed to reimburse Myron for his legal expenses.
Here is a fact. If Jock donates his advice and then gets a lucrative contract from those donees, he ends up with some pretty serious problems, as do the donees. It ain't as simple as you portray.
For instance, Trey says that Jock entirely drafted the original and amended ordinance for his contract. He donated his services (something of value) in order to get this contract. Is that a problem? Maybe. Does it smell really bad? I think so.
Look up "bribery"
Who am I to argue with some peoples observations when no one lives with me 24/7 but my family.
Until you walk in my mocassins you will never know.
It pains me not what others may say because I will meet my judgement day alone. Whenever I stand before my maker, I answer to him and no one else.
Therefore, I am truly free to do what I feel is right as I am not on anyone elses payroll.
And I don't care to lead anyone that is too lazy to be offended by the circumstances of high tax, high crime, hate, poverty, and underhanded dealings.
As a matter of fact, I don't care to lead anyone. I am just doing my thing.
Like it or not.
Of course you can. The question is "should you?" and are you hurting the cause you promote?
thing about it ---------->
2 Steps,
You need to think about your position. Can you truly say that you are espousing the "right thing"?
Do you really believe it is right to "go along to get along"?
I am FREE - you are still a slave.
Spanky, I don't question your mutlitude of causes. If your sincere interest is to improve upon the conditions that offend you, rather than to be noticed and adored, then you should consider whether you are helping or hurting the objectives you seek. It's about being selfish vs. selfless. And you are quite correct. You can do as you please. But if it is really about helping others, you need to think about your effect on the process.
I love ya, man.
Those of you'll with intelligence, and Spanky has intelligence, owe society guidance and leadership to make our society a better place. To stir shit for the sole purpose of stirring shit or revenge serves no purpose and does not elevate civilization.
If I possessed intelligence, leadership ability and the ability to work well with others I would contribute. My major defiencies ares I suffer stupidity poorly, do not work well with others and have a tendency to let my mouth get five feet in front of my brain. I am much better with the written word for you must think in order to compose.
I do my citizen thing by voting in every election and supporting the cadidate I think is right. However, my support is apparently the kiss of death for I am seldom successful.
I am willing to do my part. I have also found that honest effort to work within the framework of our local government have been fruitless. Therefore I choose to work from the periphery until our local government becomes dedicated to serve all people, regardless of race or economic status.
The assumption that a group of men can hold power and sway over the people is in error and my mission is to enlighten those that choose that path that real power comes from the people - even if it is one person.
A recent example is the last tax that was voted for. I was in favor of passage because of the stated goal of improving our police force to the level that community policing will be instituted. There was money in the budget to do the increase without the tax, but it took the express will of our community to make that statement it is the peoples will to have our security of person and property placed as #1 priority. Shouldn't that be a no-brainer and is the city council really looking out for us by not increasing security several years ago when it was really needed?
The city council showed their committment by making this move only after tax passage and not by rearranging priorities even though we had a surplus in the general fund that would have accommodated the increase in police and fire protection. In other words, allocating money for studies to out of state pet companies for dubious results take priority over our safety. Why?
These are the questions I want answered.
Number two fuel oil was extremely cheap this past winter and is a fuel that can be used at DG Hunter power station as replacement to natural gas. Why was that option not excerxised?
To me the "us versus them" is the vested interest in the outcome of City of Alexandria spending and ordinances versus the taxpayer-citizen.
This dichotomy alone indicates that the city has not operated in the best interest of its citizens.
Why is the billing of city utilities handled by a firm in Monroe? This fact alone provides a disconnect between citizen-customers and the vendor of services that is not regulated under any other auspices other thatn our local government. That is why when asked about utility rates, councilmen look at you and shrug. That move to Monroe was done on purpose to acheive that effect and alleviate responsibility from the council.
Until I get some straight answers for these and many other questions, I will continue to voice my opinion and stir others to become involved. Many others.
Until we get to the point of having at least 80% voter turnout, I consider any meager effort on my part a failure. I want all citizens to become involved in the future of our city. Only then will we become the success that has so long been talked about.
At the rate our elected officials are encountering legal problems (the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff, the New Orleans city councilman, etc.) it appears that it has been necessary for any candidate to have a felony conviction as a qualification to run for office!
I do need some help understanding why I would feel the need to seek "revenge". Has someone wronged me personally? Please share.
I don't think I said "revenge". How curious that you would.
I said revenge. Spanky jusat because a statement is made it is not necessarily an accusation aimed at you.
To stir shit for the sole purpose of stirring shit or revenge serves no purpose and does not elevate civilization.
Don't saee your name mentioned. Just a statement to the effect that efforts expended should be towards a betterment of society.
Never thought you were that thin skinned or paranoid.
Quite curious. How thin-skinned of me. And yes, the Paranoids are still after me. Can't you see them?
Yes I see both of them
MARSHALL: RETRACT OR GET SUED!
Notice how quiet Greg has been since he issued this empty and ill-advised threat? Jock told him about Aymond and he knows he has nothing to worry about.
Notice how quiet Greg
Have you read his blog. He doesn't seem too quiet to me.
-Jordan was sued as the district attorney and not personally, so he must request the money from either the state Legislature or the New Orleans City Council.-
Saw this in the Eddie Jordan case and wondered why some folks said the city council had to use personal money to defend themselves.
Jordan was tried and found guilty, yet the taxpayers will foot the bill.
How is that different in the council case, since none of them were "sued" personally, but as a group. Seems like a no-brainer that they, acting as a group, can hire Scott.
The city council was not sued. They were each being individually investigated for their individual violations of the open meeting law (those that took part in that illegal vote. If the Ag had decided to file suit and their were fined the $100, that would have come out of the individual pockets of each, not from the city. Totally different situation than Jordan in New Orleans.
As the council members faced individual liability, they would have to hire their own personal lawer. If the won in court, they could then get the city to pay them back.
Yea, just like if they get caught selling crack, or rob a bank or murder somebody, the city don't pay for that either.
The Klan lawplumb being silent? Yea sure and hell hasfrozen over. He is till out there seeking revenge, paranoid, depressed and trying to be a bully.
If you check WST's site you will see he is still pimping for the Klan lawplumb. He publishes the Klan lawplumb's bully bullshit.
When will Aymond ever realize he is viewed as an embarrassment to his family and his professions (plumbers and lawyers) and as a joke by most folks.
Now he has momentarily gotten off Waterworks #3 and picking on Louis marshall. In a popularity contest Marshall would win.
That's why you cannot trust blawyers (blog lawyers). You have no idea what you are talking about. The complaint names "the Alexandria City Council" and only the council. No where are individuals cited. So the poster is right in that council can act as a body in this regards, since no one has filed against any one of them "personally."
Go here to read the complaint:

I love it when you guys are getting your asses kicked. None of you take if it very well with all of the whining and everything. Take heart though, you are building humility for the days to come when you really get raked through the briar patch.
I still love ya, but you got to learn the rules.
How about plumbylaw. Blog lawyers operating out of the brothers plumbing busines. Almost sound like Kumbyya My lord. "Plumbylaw My Klaxon Plumbylaw.
How come I hear the theme to the "Twilight Zone" every time Spanky (in black letters) posts now?
Is it just me?
I went there and read it. It said a majority of the city council. To anyone with any sense, that means not all of them.
Yeah, and a majority of them hired Scott. Your point?
Yeah, and a majority of them hired Scott. Your point?
No wonder our city sucks. It's schools do a poor job of teaching government. Please tell me you went to private school, so my faith will be restored in the public system.
All governmental bodies toward a majority, even if it's by one vote. So by filing against the majority, and not naming those in the majority, it therefore encapsulates the whole body.
Otherwise, taxpayers could refuse to pay taxes because they were following the minority that voted against the new taxes. Once a majority is established, it then becomes the reality for all (see Supreme Court rulings).
That's just way it works. Even in Alexandria.
The reason you think it is the Twilight Zone is you are beginning to hallucinate the bright lights and god-awful sounds of the news media hounding your homeys.
Only it will be for real.
I dreamed that Royboy and Chuckie Poo, linked arm in arm with aymond the blplumblaw, announced Alexandria as Chocalteville north
Hell I misspelled chocalate. Did I just do it again. Chit
I see the hallucinations are more advanced than what is considered as safe level. You must seek medical attention. It is for your own good and the safety of those around you.
we are still safe i am still gruntled but i think i just saw two of Spanky's noids. Maybe they were pink elephants. Hell I need a beer
I will send a letter to you. Lick the back of the stamp. Go Technicolor.
Wasn't that a song. something about Mr. Postman
Rings Twice.
Party line?
No that was the song Aymond was humming when he chased down the mail truck with his letter to Foti.
Only to hear the postman whistling the immortal Elvis' "Return to Sender" as he delivered the AGs reply.
Excellent post, with the Elvis reference on this, the date of his death.
(moment of silence)
OK. Back to the twilight music and the Spankster.

Good Morning fellow bloggers, please forgive this rather long winded post.
Mr. Aymond. Since you refuse to allow any of my posts to appear on your blog, I resort to cut and paste your ramblings here. If you take issue with anything I post, please respond here, out in the open, so everyone can observe. I will tell you once more, I will not go to your office and speak with you there. Too many of my acquaintances have done so and had their private meeting with you video taped and recorded, only to find out later that you had creatively edited the recordings to make things appear different than what really transpired.
In a recent post on your site you said… "Butch came in like gang busters and demanded an investigation by Rapides Parish Waterworks District 3, which he had formerly served on as a Board member…." This is absolute truth, but did you know that Butch, with the aid of Les Prestridge, also investigated you? Did you know that Butch was shown questionable billing records from you and vowed to “can that shyster…”
"Butch talked a big line and bragged about how he appointed a majority of that water board..." This is also true, and that Butch ordered his appointees to get rid of you. But did you know that the very people that you claim ousted you, actually protected you…refusing to call for your dismissal? According to members of the Board, your mother had just passed away and they refused to entertain such actions when you were grieving. Did you also know that Butch vowed to get rid of these very board members because that showed you respect and sympathy during your hours of grief?
"Otha Haily, Wes Hebron and Rich Dupree removed from the Board…"This is also true, but Butch removed these members because they were among those initially defended you, and refused to do Butch’s bidding.
"The people of District A are not likely to reelect someone who does not keep his word and is solely interested in stroking his own ego with political power." Again we agree Aymond, but for different reasons. You seem to believe that Roy Hebron is the source of political evil in District A when in reality, it’s your “buddies” Butch Lindsay, the sexual molester, Les Prestridge, Mike Burns, Bonnie LeMoine and others who have stabbed you in the back and laughed about it later.
"Oh, and a word of advice to help you out Butch, use of a Police Jury supplied vehicle and cell phone for private political purposes, such as carrying campaign signs out to one's supporters, could mean a term in the pen, instead of the Police Jury. Better fire your motorcycle up and see how many signs it can pack around." Another very true statement Aymond, and un-altered, original, film photos tell the complete story.
THE TOWN TALK TODAY-
Who's in charge?: Check out Robert Morgan's latest blog
Is anyone in charge in Alexandria City Hall? From a distance, admittedly, it appears as though there is continuing confusion as to what role everyone plays in governing the city. During the spring campaigns, everyone was talking about moving the city forward, economic development, downtown revitalization. What happened to all that enthusiasm? Now that there is need for action and no need for slogans, there doesn't seem to be any of either. And if there has been movement, it has been slow, very slow.
How do you prove your an ex-klansman? Is there some sort of disrobeing ceremony and a certificate of being disrobed issued?
Does the head klucker denounce you three times? Is your sheet and hood recalled? Maybe Aymond had to get out because they don't make hoods in that large of a size.
Actually, judging from his pictures being shown in the paper he would be easier on the eyes with a hood.
LOL!!!!!!!!
It must be coons night at the apollo with all of the bad jokes.
I implore all my fellow pentecostals to help elect one of our own, Lance Maxwell. He will represent us well.
So how does Aymond prove that Marshall knew he was no longer a Klanner, and therefore willfully libeled him?
Does one run an ad in the local paper notifying everyone that you have been deKlanned?
I know there's a ceremony to join the KKK. Is there one to unjoin?
If not, can you just wake up one day and say "I am now Klanitized?"
Seems like Aymond needs documentation that says he's not longer a KlansMan. How does one obtain said documentation? And in order to win, wouldn't he have to produce said document in court?
OK, now that all the shock and awe has gone out of the "illegal meeting" crap, is this new stunt Aymond's way of diverting attention from the fact that he blew the complaint by not filing individually against each member, and thereby allowing the council majority to hire Jock to defend the whole body, all over a fine of, what was it again, $100?
Or is it much sadder than that, in that he just likes to make news no matter how incompetent it makes him look?
According to the book: The State & Secret Oath Bound Lodges; The Klu Klux Klan By J.M. Foster, initiation ceremonies are all basically the same with a few minor variations from lodge to lodge.
However, one key component in every ceremony is a vow to remain loyal to the KKK itself and to always uphold the Klan principals of racial purity.
As Foster states in his book... "nothing can separate a Klansman from his beliefs and his membership except death."
In Aymond's case, a simple check of his recent postings shows that, despite his protests, he still thinks and writes with a philosophy rooted in Klan doctrine.

Over half of the pentecostals are voting for Beard. Lance will be disappointed
"Over half of the pentecostals are voting for Beard."
That is so stupid in so many ways. It's just interesting how I've yet to see a Beard sign next to one of those little pentecostsl church yard signs.
Shows you how desperate the Beards are getting. I think they realize they don't have the money to run in this race.
Pentacostal or not, I can't vote for anyone under thirty.

Journalistic integrity requires that the Town Talk not accept statements made without doing proper research to determine the veracity of the statements. Before Cynthia Jordan began throwing around the word "illegal", she should have checked with the newspaper's attorney(s) to confirm whether Chuck Johnson and other "city attorneys" were correct in labeling the council's action "illegal."
Proper legal research would have shown that on September 1, 1983 in Opinion No. 83-738 issued by the Office of the Attorney General (State of Louisiana), it was ruled in a similar home rule charter environment, that the hiring of a special counsel by the city counsel on a continuing basis does not conflict with the duties and responsibilities of the City's Legal Deparment and City Attorney.
In fact, in the opinion, it was established that the council may retain special counsel to perform any legal services which are not prohibited by the Charter. Furthermore, it was ruled that although the City Legal Deparment shall direct and supervise the legal affairs of the City, it is required to provide legal advice and to prepare proposed ordinances ONLY when requested by the Council or its members.
The Attorney General's office found no requirement in the Charter that the Law (Legal) Department be the exclusive source for legal advice to the Council or for the preparation of proposed ordinances and no requirement in the Charter that legal document(s) submitted to the Council be reviewed only by the Law Department.
The coup de grace was the ruling that the special counsel could serve on a continuing basis and it is within the sole province of the City Council to determine the necessity of special counsel and the duration of his employment.
Cynthia Jordan not only erred in alleging an illegal action by the council but also erred in concluding that the Mayor has the right under the charter to veto the ordinance. There is a specific prohibition in the charter against the Mayor exercising a veto in regards to council staff appointments.
Therefore, we should expect Cynthia Jordan to be as blatant in her announcement of an apology to the council as she has been in screaming "illegal". Also, she should be as blatant in her announcement that the Mayor violated the Charter and committed an "illegal" act should he wrongfully exercise a veto of the ordinance.
Otherwise, her lack of remorse and failure to call out the mayor will underscore the paper's lack of journalistic integrity and focus attention on the true culprit putting the brakes on progress in Alexandria - the Town Talk.

ass Paine is wrong.
The authorized council staff consists of two positions:the clerk and the deputy clerk. Of course the mayor can veto an ordinance for a professional services contract.
An attorney generals opinion is not considered a legal authority and that position was subsequently overturned in the Roy vs. Humphries decision.
If the council pursues a course against the specific advice and direction of its lawyer and the result is protracted and expensive litigation, can they be held personally responsible for the expenses occasioned by their breach of duty???

The Beards have enough maturity and morals to not try and use religion to aquire votes. We do not put signs in church yards. And don't worry about the money to run the campaign. When the time is right you will see.
Why is the discussion about Beard vs. Maxwell? Has everyone decided that Chris Roy in a non-starter? Just curious.
None of them have a chance against Lance. When Rev. Mangnum endorses you, it means something.
Rev. Mangum doesn't create winners - he panders to them. When one of the democrats win he will be up their as like Boy George.
Rev. Mangnum don't back no democrat.
Did Bill Clinton and Edwin Edwards know that. You don't keep your congregation gainfully employed in government jobs by making political enemies. You let the dust settle and find some winner's ass to kiss. It has worked for many years.
Lance may be damaging Rev.Mangnum's good name. I heard Lance has promised the pentecostals to Roosevelt next race.
-The Beards have enough maturity and morals to not try and use religion to aquire votes. We do not put signs in church yards.-
I actually laughed out loud when I read this. I cannot tell you of the number of people in town that have said they got a Beard sign in their yard one night because all they could figure was:
1) They went to Calvary or
2) The person that owned the house before them went to Calvary
I have seen several locations where a Beard sign has been replaced by another candidate, or a Beard sign and another cand. sign in the same yard.
I have actually stood next to a guy who got a call on his cell from one of the Beard boys who proceeded to berate the man because he had a Maxwell sign. Beard lost a few more votes that day.
But the event that takes the cake is Beard showing up at the radio trying to force himself onto a paid political program. Now that was just embarassing, and the Town Talk did a great job in getting that message out there while not fully publishing all the embarassing things Beard had to say that day.
And as far as Roy being a non-factor its hard to tell. The Repubs are seeing a strong surge in the polls in all races. Many races will be over in the primary. Because of the crap going on in the city, Roy is probably running 3rd thanks to his brother, but Beard is doing all he can to screw that up.
That's why you get so many juvenile posts on here about Maxwell, they are childish enough to think they are swaying votes with these antics.
And as far as money is concerned. The candidates own public disclosure filed reports tell the tale.
The last poll we saw had Beard first, Roy second, Maxwell is in a free fall. The more he is out and about, the more his inexperience and childlikeness is known.
Thats pretty funny since no one has run a poll
Yeah, that's also easy to find out on the disclosure form. You have to pay to run a poll, and since that has not shown up on anyone's disclosure form, you just got caught in a lie.
Juvenile post re: Maxwell = what has Maxwell ever done to qualify him to represent anybody?
We are going on many months now and nobody has undertaken to answer that very simple but very obvious question. He will reveal his true skills in debates and forums (fora). Poor Lance does real well unless you objectively compare him to ANYBODY ELSE.
You can criticize Ronnie Beard all you want, I am sure he is doing what you accuse him of, but Greg is not Ronnie. If you accuse a "Beard" boy. Use a name.
The poll talk is funny. Lance told people in Leesville he was polling 60%. Everybody was laughing when he finally left. lol

KNOW Lance
Yeah, that is funny since everyone I know is talking about the mostvrecent poll that has several repubs running above 60%. Of course that poll is masked as a Jindal poll, but they also checked on senate on house races as a subset of the Jindal poll.
And of course you've heard that poll talked about on TV, radio, and newspapers, so you can just keep on laughing as if it wasn't true. Just shows the readers how little you know.
And that now means you've been caught in another lie.
Are you saying you polled 60% Lance. lol
Maybe it's news to you that in both pres. elections (that were very close nationally), the repub candidates received at, or above 60% in every race in this district. Even Dewitt himself has said a repub would win his seat the next time out.
It is the reason that the state party has targeted this district as a pick-up. Any repub in the race will get close to 50% of the votes, just by being repub. Maxwell is getting a bigger boost because of a church of 3,000 members.
This type of demographic is why Nagin won re-election. Although no one can understand it, the numbers were there and he won.
So your attacks are for the most part seen as jealousy from someone of Maxwell's age that resents his "apparent success." We understand that, and are just amused by your posts.
You really are a novice at this aren't you?
Oh, I forgot to add, that's another reason that Roy is running 3rd. Roy's financial support of the Kerry and John Edwards campaigns doesn't sit very well with the conservative voters in the district.
Beard is only ahead of him because no one knows where Beard stands, however, his son's rumored antics and past troubles haven't help dad gain any momentum.
Is this you, Azar?
We are beginning a national initiative to repeal the term limit amendment for Unites States Presidents to allow George Bush to run for the presidency again.
Can we count on your support?
So your attacks are for the most part seen as jealousy from someone of Maxwell's age that resents his "apparent success."
Shouldn't that read "parent's success"?
Who's Azar?
And no its time we moved on. No more Bushes or Clintons.
Lance has been endorsed by his close friend "Azar". He now ill carry the Iranian vote in Cenla.
parents?
I'm unfamiliar with his parents. Are they the Maxwells in the real estate business?
Cenla has changed. I don't remmber any Iranians when I was there.
Anonymous said...
Who's Azar?
Lance's Iranian friend he spends much time with. There are many pictures.
I guess it is because I don't vote in that district, but all of this crap between Maxwell, Beard and Roy is getting OLD!!!!!!!
You guys really need to take a pudding break~!
Azar has promised Lance the Nation of Islam vote. Lance can do Muslim as well as Pentecostal if it will deliver the vote.
Ok, new topic.
I hear Slocum wins in the primary. he also has poll numbers to back that up.
I like Slocum, I hope he is not using Azar and Lance's pollster with the tricky numbers.
"So your attacks are for the most part seen as jealousy from someone of Maxwell's age that resents his "apparent success." We understand that, and are just amused by your posts."
His "apparent success"??? He hasn't done anything to be successful. It is easy to have an unblemished record when you have no record.
He's running for public office, and you're spending your day posting anonymously on a blog.
Yeah, I see where your opinion about anyone's success is worth S***.
I'll say amen to the previous post. Win or lose, at least people know him.
Now who are you again?
"He's running for public office, and you're spending your day posting anonymously on a blog."
Now THAT is funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met Mr. Beard Thursday night at a b-day party honoring a retired senator. He impressed me and I will vote for him. Maxwell showed up late as usual. Came in like a walking billboard with his name all over his shirt. Can you imagine a grown up trying to overshadow an honored older man's b-day party?
Some of the pentecostals will vote against him for advertising in the church, he wears campaign shirts everywhere.
What time was that b-day party????? Just asking cuz I was at a "get together" that Mr. Beard was at Thursday night too....It wasn't a b-day party.
Lance was late because he had to attend a fund raiser at the Country Club for Major Slocum [the next sheriff]. He is not limited to one small function. Did you want him to change his shirt? Grow up.
I saw Beard at the State Farm office the morning of the radio. I laughed at him.
I can promise you he will not get my vote.
To this idiot: Yeah, that's also easy to find out on the disclosure form. You have to pay to run a poll, and since that has not shown up on anyone's disclosure form, you just got caught in a lie.
Saturday, August 18, 2007 10:36:00 AM
You don't have to be a candidate to commission a poll, dumbass!
to this idiot:
So you've got $5,000 laying around cause you're curious as to who is leading in that house district?
What a total moron you've just proven yourself to be. Has anyone been called in the last few weeks about this election? I didn't think so, because no one is currently running a poll CANDIDATES OR NOT.
The Party machines have run their polls, candidates are gearing up to spend funds on advertising, not polls. No one cares right now about who's leading in the race.
All 3 candidates for Dist 25 are good people. I will cast my vote for Chris Roy Jr.
So after reading several of the last posts, I take it that Beard's people are convinced Maxwell is the leader, and they are not doing a good job of closing the gap, so they've resorted to making up stuff on public forums?
He's too young to make anything up on. He's never done anything.

Looks like the people of 25 are looking for experience.
To this stupid lamebrain who is obviously a political novice: Saturday, August 18, 2007 4:37:00 PM
That's not the way campaign's work stupid. What a pea brain. First, I have no idea what the "Three Amigos" have done, or, are planning to do in District 25. I was talking about your stupid statement that the cost of a poll must appear on a candidate's financial reporting to the Sec of State. You're flat ass wrong and too stupid to see when it's daylight! If you want a poll done, you gather 5 or 6 heavy hitters who are willing to put up $1,000 apiece and they commission the poll....stupid ass! Since you obviously don't know a damn thing about politics, you must be in the Beard camp!
Again, my apologies to those who post here, however, since Greg Aymond refuses to allow me to voice my dissenting opinion to him personally, on his site, I an force to refute his twisted ramblings here.
It seems that WeSawThat has split the sheets with Mr. Aymond. Their once cozy relationship seems to be cooling. Perhaps WST has realized what we all know…Aymond is a blowhard.
WST posted the complete transcripts from Aymond’s latest court appearance on his site. If you read the actual transcripts, you come away with a completely different picture of what happened in court than we were told by Aymond. Aymond got his clock cleaned by both Judge Swent and Jimmy Faircloth. Also, by reading the transcripts, we see that the Town Talk was really scraping the bottom of the barrel when it hired Karina Donica, This poor girl can barely speak English and obviously is totally lost in an American courtroom. Inept, doesn’t begin to describe her reporting of this issue.
If you want to see a bumbling buffoon of an attorney attempt to plead a case…read the complete transcripts.
j. reister,
there is a difference betweeen opinion and fact. You must have been taking slander lessons from pond scum.
j.reister, you are a lying piece of chickenshit. I have not banned any post of your on my blog, but with the bullshit you talk you could very well be a candidate. Why not identify yourself you cowardly piece of shit?
You must also be a complete dumbass. Read the pleadings Faircloth filed, and he lost every sing thing he asked the court for. So I will say no more to you on this, or any other blog, as you are a liar and coward.
Oh by the way dumbass, who the Hell do you think gave those partial trascripts to WeSaw That?
Aymond + We Saw That + Spanky = confederacy of dunces.
It is amazing that there is enough hatred, bias, and bitterness to go around but they same to possess an inexhaustable abundance.
Now if you realy want to know how stupid that ego manicac Aymond is just digest this posting/
"Anonymous said...
j.reister, you are a lying piece of chickenshit. I have not banned any post of your on my blog, but"
He posted as anonymous - the fool he posted as anonymous but referred to his blog. I am telling you the boy suffers from severe mental difficulty.
The only warm secure feeling he gets is seeing his shit published. He doesn't realize he has no credibiltiy and for folks to identify with him cheapens them.
Oh, and by the way, with reference to the slander crap, how do you slander a piece of shit?
Are we saying two bigoted pieces of shit - We Saw That and Aymond are having a tiff. Sounds like a falling out of assholes.
Did we ever find out the rule was once a klycker always a klucker kinda like the mafia???????
No tiff, in fact, Greg is telling WST who to hate now. They both set extremely high standards for other's moral principles and ethical conduct.
Of course, Aymond has worked very hard to make himself a public figure but I would love to see him prove injury to his reputation by Marshall. Stay tuned.
I pray that Mr. Johnson keeps the faith while doing what is the right thing. How exasperating to attempt an intelligent and qualified consultation of the body that he is sworn to serve and protect only to have them malign good counsel, much to their future chagrin.
While the city council's foolhardy endeavour will ultimately be politically and economically costly to the individual council members, their blind ambition will ultimately cost us, the citizen-taxpayers to a greater degree in treasury and status. May they be damned.
"How exasperating to attempt an intelligent and qualified consultation of the body that he is sworn to serve and protect only to have them malign good counsel, much to their future chagrin."
Give me a break Spanky - he can read something out of the Charter but does he actually know what it means???? Trey Gist had to explain the last thing Chuck read verbatim from the Charter. The sign of intelligence is the ability to communicate at all levels, not just the high superior one you have placed yourself. Perhaps Mr. Johnson and the Mayor should take an interpersonal communication class to learn how to communicate with others than talk at them. And while we're taking classes, it wouldn't hurt the Council to take a class in general communication - in other words think before you open your mouth.
I am going out on a limb here, but I will make the assumption that this poster, Sunday, August 19, 2007 7:40:00 AM is Aymond.
Well hello Greg, nice to see you respond in your usual cordial manner. You take me to task for saying that you have banned me from your site, when, in fact, that is just what you have done. I have posted to your site a number of times in opposition to what you spoke to, challenging your facts and their origination. To date none of my postings have appeared…I would call that a ban, and I think others will too. So, if you are so certain that I lie, and I have never attempted to post to your site, please supply us with the proof of your statement.
BTW, I can supply proof that I did post.
Also, you call me a coward….I must ask, please tell us why you come to this conclusion. Is it because I refuse to come to your office, where I will be video taped and audio taped, thus supplying you the fodder with which you can alter and attack me with? I don’t consider that to be cowardly…I consider that being smart enough not to fall into your trap.
As to identifying myself…I thought I did by putting my name atop every post…I am James A. Reister and in case you want to know…I don’t live in Alexandria. But I ask you Mr. Aymond…why is my identity so important to you? It is your ideas and beliefs I wish to challenge, not where you live. Could it be that you fall short on ideas and their rationale, and wish to follow your well known “MO” of harassing me in court? Do you think that will silence me? You make your ideas well known Mr. Aymond, why aren’t you prepared to defend those ideas?
As to the Pineville E-mail case, I have read everything. However, in my post I was specifically addressing your bungled court appearance of August 13. You attempted to have Judge Swent certify a partial judgment as a final judgment so you could appeal. The only tiny victory you took away from that court encounter was to have Swent certify your right to appeal punitive damages and attorney fees. This does not mean you will get them, you just have the right to now beg the third circuit for them. Swent denied them, and she is a lot easier to convince than the third circuit will be.
On each other point you argued, Swent denied you. Please tell us Aymond…where is your great victory?
Bottom line is, now you will be forced to file a supervisory writ, and I’ll wager that that writ is turned away.
I invite the readers of this blog to go to WST’s site and read for yourself. After a careful reading, decide for yourself if Aymond has misled you.
Oh, by the way Greg, there is an old saying that goes something like this….”In any argument, the person screaming the loudest is usually the liar who is covering his own mistake…” You’re doing a lot of screaming lately Greg.
To all the posters on this site. I apologize for the long winded reply to Mr. Aymond. However, Mr. Aymond has refused to engage in civil debate with me in the arena of ideas on this public forum. Instead he has chosen to attack me personally, calling me all sorts of vile names, simply because I requested that he substantiate his ascertains.
In the future I will try to be brief, however I will continue to respond when attacked.
Sincerely,
J. Reister
To the moron that keeps blowing hard about some poll that has been run. There has not been. I don't care how many heavy hitters it takes to fund a poll, no one has done it.
And your recent poll results are a joke. That shows me how ignorant you are, which you msut be from the Roy camp.
My proof:
1) No one has reported getting any calls about that race, so how do you get poll results if no one is calling voters?
2) The numbers cited in your post are from a blog poll someone started on the Town Talk web site that 10, yes TEN people replied to. And even some of those folks voted more than once. Now if you think that you can get a reliable poll result from 10 responses, then you are a mental midget.
Now stop posting about something you have no knowledge of, you are wasting good space on this message board.
Aymond has an office???????? I thought he was merly squating in his brother's plumbing shop. I am not sure why his brother allows him to operate out of here. It has to be hurting Aymond Plumbing's businbess. As nice a person as his brother is it must be very embarasing to not only be kin to the piece of shit but housed in the same building.
My proof:
1) No one has reported getting any calls about that race, so how do you get poll results if no one is calling voters?
Not true. Me and another girl at work were polled about the Dewitt's seat.
I don't know what the truth is but I know you are not telling it.cg
Quid pro quo.
Maybe Greg goes to all the job sites and checks the toilets.
Anonymouse,
It is becoming ever more obvious that you subscribe to the theory that if you "tell the same lie long enough, many think it the truth".
What you see seated at the administration table represents 3 examples of very good legal talent. They did not get that reputation by not having the ability to communicate or a lack of knowledge of the law. Ask Mr. Gist for yourself what his opinion of Mr. Johnson's, Mr Roy's and Ms. Michiel's legal acumen. I am quite sure that his answer would result in more baseless attacks from you and your ilk. Of course, I am wasting my time and energy by replying to your post as it is not in you to recognize the truth as you are evidently a very innefective member of the propaganda team of the folks that really don not want to know the truth or have it esposed in public.
I am also quite sure that all people guage your opinions for what they are. Purely propaganda and personal attack with no basis in fact or reality.
What if we ask Mr. Gist and the administration top echelon what they think of you? Huh, spanky?
Have at it. I do my thing regardless of whatever they or you think of me.
We DON'T think of you but what is your "thing" Spanky? We know what you say. What do you actually do?
"Not true. Me and another girl at work were polled about the Dewitt's seat."
Wow, that has got to be a first. How did they get your job phone number from your voter registration information?
And how would they know what district you vote in by calling your work number??
Now who's not telling the truth. Someone has now lied multiple times about poll numbers that do not exist.

If you say only 10 voted in that poll, you are as untruthful as Lips.
I do a lot of things. I gather information. I confer with people as to their opinions. I marshall forces that cause things to happen. I uncover motives. I breathe. I eat. I sleep. I work. I play. I love. I hate. I transgress. I forgive. I live. What else would I do?
I never said that we were phone polled at work, only that another girl and I had been surveyed. You gotta listen. It really is not that complicated.
go look it up yourself. Its on the Town Talk website, and only has 10 replies.
It ain't that hard.
You're either too lazy or too stupid.
But then you'd have to admit you made up all the other lies about a recent poll that was run.

Uh, listen or think?
Listening would be a skill used to gather information so that would be a yes and thinking would be an activity used in doing most of the others.
I suppose that you would have to ask because those two skills would not apply in your existence? Do you not have experience with either? It seemed rather obvious to me.
I knew you wouldn't admit to the truth, so I did it for you.
Under the "Local News" section of the Town Talk forum there was topic started by someone calling themself "Smith."
The first line reads "I am tired of all the talk about the Sheriff's race. What is your opinion about the District 25 race?"
This person set up a poll as a part of the blog that has the EXACT SAME results you keep posting, the only problem is there were only 10 replies to the topics. TEN! And you keep posting that like it has meaning.
Hey Spanky, it's your list, not mine.
Only 10 people replied about the poll, more than that voted, Lance. Quit lying.
Whatever.

Oh I stand corrected on the TT poll. Youare right more than 10 people voted. let's see how many votes did the leader get, again??
Nine, yeah that's right. The leader of your "poll?" had a grand total of 9 votes, and you post that on here like it has meaning.

Spanky dear I have not drank the koolaid nor am I prescribing to as you put it "telling the same lie long enough to get someone to believe it."
Perhaps you, yourself, should attend a reading comprehension course. If you would take the time to actually read what I wrote, I suggested an interpersonal communication course for the Mayor and the City Attorney so they could learn to speak to someone, with someone and not AT someone. I also recommended a class for the Council. You see, I realize there is a problem on both sides of the boat, perhaps that is why, as the Daily Fish Wrap has suggested, we are going nowhere fast these days.

Daddy done good for you Lance. lol
It would have looked better Lance had you voted for yourself 4 times over the next couple days than in a thirty minute period. Didn't you learn anything from your idol Vitter?
3 COA lawyer employees (Mayor, Chuckie Poo and Trey, The Town Talk (most especially that great legal mind Cynthia Jordan, and Aymond. A font of legal knowledge. Trey is a yes man, the Mayor can't talk to people and Chucks is out of his League as the City attorney. Now I ask how many people would take legal advise from this group.
Yes I would, if on the Council, hire a knowledgeable lawyer.
Not a fair assessment. The council loved and respected Gist's opinion until he was unable to tell them what they wanted to hear.
If Scott says to the council what he has publicly said about the council, they are not going to be very happy for very long. Tony Martin has no experience, no skill, and very little talent. She is hired strictly because she is black. But Scott was hired because, among other things, he is soooo white.
That sort of implies Trey was a Council yes man and then switch sides.
How do lawyers decide things are legal or illegal? Isn't it just kinda their opinion or intrepretation? So if an Attorney General's Opinion is just an opinion and not a legal decision does that mean the COA lawyers opinions constitute a legal decision?
Does Aymond's opinion, the Town Talk's opinion and Cindy Jordan's opinion constitute a legal decision?
Why not settle the issue in court and see what THE LAW really is.
"Chuck Johnson and others warned the City Council." I can warn you that if you go into the woods a bear might eat you. Only way to prove my warning is to go into the woods.
Appears to me the Council is ready to go the woods.
There are really bears in the woods - even in Louisiana. Lions and tigers and bears - Oh my.
All you City Council sycophents have shit for brains. What ever the Mayor is, he will not be bullied by the council. This thing is headed for court where the council will be mauled by the city charter itself.
Those who are blathering on about the "rights of the council" are the very ones that are receiving a steady stream of corrupt cash from Myron and crew.
The FBI hasn't beefed up their staff in Alexandria for nothing.
Of course they can go to court. The net result will be delay, expense, waste, stagnation, regression, and bad feelings. Is this what we voted for. Is this how we want our precious dollars spent?
"Crossroad" is a appropriate slogan for us now. If we continue to pick the wrong road, as Robert Frost said, we is fucked.
So we are saying the Legislative Branch of the City Government should just blindly believe what the Executive Branch, a rag such as the Town Talk and a supposed ex-klucker who's blog posting consist off ranting against blacks tell them.
Gee what ever happened to the concept of Seperation of Powers. Gee whatever happened to independent Branches of Government.
Gee if it is so that all Attorneys hired by the City work for the City Attorney who reports to the head of the Executive Branch this means Trey is unbaised. Gee one could think Trey feels he needs to suck up to the Administration because they are his boss.
So having said all that what does the Council do for independent legal representation and advise?
I thought if a lawsuit was brought against individual council members the Councilman was responsible for paying his own legal fees unless proven innocent. So how can we be wasting tax payer dollars unless the poster feels the Council will win and their legal fees will have to be reimbursed?
If a lawsuit is filed against say a person working in Electrical Distribution, City Attorney Office, Purchasing or Data processing do they have to pay their own legal fees or just the Councilmen?
In my opinion, it was sooo tacky for Jerry Woods to go to former Sen. Dyess' birthday party just to campaign even though he is aware that Dyess' son in law is running for that seat. Of course, nobody has ever accused Woods of being a classy guy. Love the gold chains, Jerry.
I find it almost comical that the Alexandria city council refuses to take legal advice from an obviously capable attorney (Chuck Johnson) that the citizens see fit to fund as an appointed position by our mayor (Jacques Roy) who has proven to be a capable attorney advised by a chief of staff (Kay Michiels) who is also a very capable attorney complimented with the opinion of Mr. Trey Gist, who is also an attorney of note.
The ludicrous part of this whole scenario is that it appears that 50 attorneys could not instill an ounce of common sense in the members of the city council that are drunken with their self import while using our tax money to further their stupor.
It is one thing to not know.
It is quite another to walk into the path of an oncoming train while a large crown is warning you of your impending fate.
It also appears the citizens will once again have to deal with the gory aftermath of a few men's vanity.
And it would be funny, except for the fact that once again, Alexandria appears to be guided by a confederacy of dunces while the citizens and the folks that trade in our fair town pay the admission to this ongoing tragic comedy.
Reuters new poll:
Chris Roy Jr.= 98%
Lance Maxwell= 1%
Glenn Beard= 1%
The Councilmen are the elected (read choice) of the citizens. Those that trade in this fair city who are not citizens have no say in the govenance of the City.
It should be extremely obvious that the Whites and Blacks financially able to have left this City. Elderly no longer feel safe and secure in this city (want proof wath the "racial bullying at the mall.) Check the crime rate in the mall parking lot especially the folks oreying on the elderly.
It should be extremly obvious from such events as Caplan's and Weis & Goldring deserting the mall the intelligent businessmen are training to protect and keep their business customers.
Alexandria will shortly resemble the 9th Ward of NOLA with just the White's left that cannot afford to escape. Throw into the miux Mr. Race Baiter Aymond and it becomes a hell of a deal.
Speaking of Coucil actions. Watch the back door action by one Councilman Joe Bishop of Pineville. Inside word has it that the Judicial Proceedings set for the 25th will somehow mysteriously disappear as will the criminal case. Isnt it a great country where some elected officials can get special treatment and the rest of us have to live by the law are be faced with prosecution. Stay tuned and watch.
To this dimwit: Monday, August 20, 2007 6:58:00 AM
This city wants a government free from corruption where the council assumes their proper role according to the charter. Period.
And to this pea-brain: Monday, August 20, 2007 7:11:00 AM
The charter outlines the roles, duties, and obligations of each branch. The executive must not let the legislative usurp any of it's authority and vice-versa. The problem is, that under the Randolph administration, the council assumed executive like power and Randolph let them. Now Roy is determined to assume his proper, charter dictated role in the operation of this city. If he has to go to court to get it...so be it. In the end, the council will be forced to follow the dictates of the charter, like it or not.
There are some of us, while being accused of fomenting negativity, truly love Alexandria as our home and intend to see that it rises to a better place to live. That goal cannot be accomplished by fleeing everytime there is conflict.
I have personally chosen to fight the good fight to improve this town for my children and grandchildren and it looks as thought he battle lines are being drawn. That has been my purpose to this point in time. To awaken citizens to what is occurring in their city, in their name, with their money and not necessarily in their interest.
The first thing that citizens need to do is open their eyes and ears and minds to what is being done in their name for special interests. City business is taken care of for the common good, not to enrich the few.
Fast Track is a prime example of a fast one being pulled on the citizens.
Capricious zoning changes are another.
Copious studies that do not result in action or addition to a master plan for the city are another.
Transfer of public property without the benefit of proper procedure and citizen input are another.
Building new subdivisions marginally complying with city regulations prior to requesting incorporation are another.
Awarding contracts without full compliance of the state bid laws is another.
Allowing our police department to go undermannned and underfunded for enough years to cause blighted areas due to crime increase is another.
Allowing our fire department to suffer improper maintenence to equipment and failure to fund minor needs and repairs properly is another.
Allowing our streets and utilities to slowly deteriorate from lack of maintenence is another.
Poor overall planning is another.
While these items can be viewed as negative commentary, they each have an inverse approach that is not more costly in the grand analysis of doing the right thing for our city.
This is the crux of the matter. We have a city council that claims leadership, desires the power to impose, and has demonstrated the that it does not have the ability to priortize the needs and assetts of our community to make Alexandria attractive to retain our most precious resource, our progeny.
If our community is growing, how come our population statistics don't show it? Could it be that our council has no grasp of reality at the least and downright lies at the worst?
And their defense to any criticism of such glaring shortcomings is that the folks that speak out are racist. I would ask how they know?
Do they have contact with their detractors or seek them out to have a conversation or discover the depth of their character?
No.
That would require effort and sound judgement.
I would say to the majority racial component of our population, look around and ask yourself if you feel your business has been properly cared for.
Do you feel safe?
Are you riding on smooth streets?
Are your utilities affordable?
Do you see a rise in fire damaged houses in your community?
Do you feel that overall your business has been taken care of?
It is time for the majority to speak up.

Spanky, instead of preaching to the choir, why don't you appear at the council and address you concerns and complaints and demands and suggestions directly to them. Confront somebody or do something instead of all of the verbal masturbation just for the sake of cuteness or to be notices.
If you want something done, do it.

I believe some of the poll, but Beard should be higher and Roy a little lower.
Didn't Spanky run for council at lose? I think he's tried to make a change and the people wouldn't listen to him or acknowledge him enough to vote for him.
I for one would like some examples of several claims he has made -
When was public property transferred and no comment was allowed?
What subdivisions were developed marginally and then incorporated?
If you're going to toss stones, show examples.
New Pew poll*:

Lance Maxwell= 30%
Glenn Beard= 20%
*5 people polled (Poll taken at The House of Java, The Pentecostal Church, and Forest Hill Motor Spreedway)
Roy a little high, Beard way too low, Maxwell way too high.
Breaking news, Maxwell may withdraw from race to save face [and lips].
