New Thread! New Thread!!!!

My humble apologies fellow blogians! I have been traveling out of state as of late, and am even now adding this thread from the great state of Texas. My cell phone was very active today with calls about Senator Vitter's visit to Alexandria today as well as Bobby Jindal's visit as well.

I am sure that our city councilmen are behaving a bit more conservatively these days... they may be next. The President of the New Orleans council resigned yesterday after being indicted by the feds after being caught accepting kick backs. His "take" was less than $15,000. He should have run for Congress where you are able to take $90,000 and allow it to go unreported!

Funny. The Lance Prancers ask questions about the other candidates and attack them in their own limp-wristed way, but nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody can give any reason to vote for little lance. There's the insult. little lance has never done anything good or bad - he has never done anything at all - and there is no reason to think that he ever will. The republicans simply cannot afford to have this election be about qualifications.

Anonymous said...

Lance has on his push card that he is a member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited.

He has never bought a hunting license.

Does he sound phoney now?

Anonymous said...

"Lance's Prancers" - that's great. I hope it sticks.

Anonymous said...

Lance owns this race so tuck your clit in and deal with it.

To the jerk who keeps taunting Lance Maxwell on this blog....There are a couple of things that Lance Maxwell has not done. He has never been so drunk at a party he had to be led home. He has never left his wife for his secretary. Anything else?????

Anonymous said...

You are being far too modest. There are more than a "couple of things" that Lance has not done: practice law, make a living, have a meaningful heterosexual relationship, undertake and complete any responsible adult task, be self-supporting, perform a job satisfactorily, gain the respect of his profession, - I could go on for hours -

There is absolutely no challenge in listing the things that Maxwell has NOT done - because he has NOT done EVERYTHING.

this is way too easy----------->

Anonymous said...

i may reconsider. i may discharge my civic duty by voting for a candidate who's qualification seems to be having orange signs.

Anonymous said...

Biff, if recall serves correctly, your last candidate was Dr. John Sams. Orange signs would show some tightening of your standards and criteria.

Welcome back.

Anonymous said...

You people are sooooo shallow. Who really cares what Lance, Beard or Roy has or hasn't done. Please start your own blog if you are so obsessed with this guy.

Anonymous said...

It would appear that most of the participants on this site don't agree with your priorities. I, for one, happen to think that it is very important to send the best person from our area to represent us in the legislature. We have had more than enough losers and they have harmed us it many many ways. I think that there might be too many folks like you who depend on us not paying very close attention.

Anonymous said...

Lance has not ever done anything ever. Roy Jr. has done it all though. Lance was never even born. Roy was born like a thousand times.

Anonymous said...

Lance doesn't even know how to tie his shoe. Roy can tie a million shoes at once.

Really??? And just how would you know that as fact dipshit. Do you have special access to the LDWF database for the past 30 years?

Once again...prove it or shut up.

He don't have one, unless he got it in the last few weeks. It don't really matter, just another lie. What do you expect from the house that Vitter built?

Anonymous said...

Once again...prove it or shut up.

Ha, since when does anybody have to prove anything said here?

Anonymous said...

OK since no one knows what Roy stands for, I guess I'll just assume he's running "cause my baby brother won big."

Now that's a campaign slogan that instills confidence, no wonder he's stuck in the 20's on all the recent polls.

More like hard times, tuff guy

Anonymous said...

I see on Lance's card he is a member of the cattlemen' association. How many head does he run at Condo E on Versaille?

Does he have a towing package on his BMW to pull the stock trailer?

Anonymous said...

Can someone go to the courthouse and find out how much farm land a candidate owns for cattle usage?

Anonymous said...

I'm for Lance, he is the only Cattleman in the race.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he does raise cattle - all that bullshit has to come from someplace.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Lance is kicking the shit out of Roy.

I believe that is provable.

allow me to help the thought process here re lance. i did support sams in the primary. let's see. sams-proven record of public service, two terms on the school board, successful medical practice, family man, with children graduating from some of the finest colleges in the nation. those are called qualifications. if you chose not to support sams because of his politics, that's another issue. it doesn't impact his qualifications. lance-orange signs. please add any other QUALIFICATIONS to my lance list that you deem appropriate to hold elected office.

Anonymous said...

I needed some help from a law firm yesterday. I attempted to contact the law firm of Maxwell & Maxwell. That is the firm Lance's card says he is the senior partner of. No listing in the yellow pages, no listing in the white pages either.

Does Lance think everyone is stupid?

Anonymous said...

The Lance Prancers are trying to make a list of all the stuff Lance DIDN'T do. Feel free to add "practice law" and "tell the truth".

Anonymous said...

I read this quite often, but never comment because the thread is so long. However, I feel I need to speak my mind about something. I am not supporting Lance Maxwell, but it has nothing to do with what is being said on here. It is because I do not feel that he is at the right place in life to handle a legislative position. He is a nice guy, he has a nice family, and he seems to try to live an upstanding lifestyle. He should not be condemned on here for wanting to run for public office. I am still undecided between Roy and Beard, as I know both of them pretty well, and I like both of them. Please, everybody, just stick to the issues and quit attacking each candidate's personal life. No good comes from it.

Anonymous said...

Not attacking Lance personally or his family.

But when your push cards say you are in ducks unlimited and the NRA, you should have a hunting license and a shotgun.

When your cards say you are a cattlemen, your not, and live in a condo with no stock trailer, another red flag.

When your card says you are senior partner in a law firm, shouldn't it be listed in the phone book?

3 strikes, you're out.

Rapides GOP Woman, if you’re that superficial, you’re either a Democrat or a dunce. Both?

With the election just around the corner, could it be that Lance figured his limited time was better spent campaigning rather than schmoozing with the choir?

Now she's courting Lance;
Trying to get in his pants;

And is hoping to look like a starlet.

Anonymous said...

I rarely comment, but Roy certainly doesn't need friends help like you.

It is obvious from all camps that Maxwell is leading big. But all your attempts at belittling him only makes your candidate look that much worse.

For comparison purposes, Brewer said all she could about Roy, but when he thrashed her, did it make her look any better? No it pretty much finshed her in politics.

When Maxwell finishes big over the other two, they will also be finished in politics, no thanks to people like you.

Because everyone will say, hell if he couldn't beat Maxwell, who can he beat?

Anonymous said...

Please don't give them helpful advice. It's the same type of stuff that Wagner's supporters are doing to Slocum. They're losing big time, too. It's probably the same people. So let them carry on in childish behavior, Trust me it's losing votes for them, and not atracting new ones.

Anonymous said...

Does Lance have cows or not?

I met Mr. Glen Beard today. He will get my vote. I like his 2 sons as well.

And you know a lot about Maxwell's past life. Jealous?

Anonymous said...

Well, our sleeply little town in #6 on the list of most dangerous cities.

Anonymous said...

stupid question of the day - isn't ducks unlimited a preservation organization? Aren't they about preserving the very environment they hunt in? Aren't they about making sure the numbers are up so those that are hunters can continue to do so? Nowhere have I seen a requirement that you be a hunter and own a gun to join the organization.

As far as the NRA goes, they defend our rights to bear arms. That doesn't mean we have to bear them, just that we have the right to. Now, most members have 3, 4, hell probably a dozen guns, but again, where does it say on its membership form that you must own a gun to join?

You guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I haven't exactly heard anything about Royboy Jr. that is setting the world on fire.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for admitting Lance has never hunted a duck or owned a gun.

Now about being senior partner in a law firm with no phone listing.

No, I think he was concerned that Maxwell may be a liar or just joined those groups for political purposes.

As to Jindal saying about the corrupt crowd not wanting to give up, if you haven't noticed none of Maxwell's opponents are incumbants so have no power to give up.

2. Having worked in a political office he has an understanding of the appropriations process, as well as the process by which laws are written, amended and pushed for on the floor.

3. He understands the role staff plays in a legislative office from developing policy, researching issues, contacting constitutes for information needed for appropriations.

Does that help Bif?

4. Likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.

5. See qualification #1.

Excellent answer but, unfortunately, like the rest of Lance's campaign, a total fraud. His job here, which he seldom actually showed up for, was to answer the phone from some local who's social security check was late and phone it up the ladder to Vitter's legislative staff. He was never exposed to policy, govt. process, or actual work. But if he thinks that he caught a case of "qualification" from his whore mongering boss, he should mention him with more affection and respect. Biff, your list was complete and correct.

It is not an attack on Lance when someone observes that he has never done anything to suggest that he could be competent as a legislator or anything else, for that matter. That, it seems to me, is the issue that you should address. Mr. Roy and Mr. Beard have both been successful in their respective endeavors. Mr. Beard started as a lowly patrol officer and worked himself up to the chief of police. Mr. Roy has had a great deal of success in his chosen profession and enjoys universal respect among other Alexandria lawyers. Lance, on the other hand has done nothing of note and was substandard and lazy in those matters that he tried to undertake. Nobody has asked for a comparison in qualifications although Lance fairs poorly in that exercise. Folks just want to know what the hell Lance has ever done. The fiction about his experience as Vitter's local cheerleader is embarrassing.

Anonymous said...

I love how the Roy people say that Lance has no experience yet when Jacques was running these same supporters preached that a new regime is the choice for change, i.e. zero experience is good.

Lance and Jacques are equally as unqualified as Beard and Brewer are qualified.

Regardless, I still think Lance is the best candidate.

Dems are always tolerant until you disagree with them then they become the most intolerant. Go figure. I am constantly baffled by how inconsistent these people are. The irony is incredible and the hypocracy is unparalled.

Anonymous said...

I know Jacques Roy, and Lance you are no Jacques.

Anonymous said...

Certainly you realize that there is an enormous difference in having no governmental experience and never having done ANYTHING.

I had a chance to meet Beard again last week at a campaign function. I was very suprised! There was no lingering smell of alcohol and his eyes were clear.

Does anybody know when Beard quit drinking? Has he gone to a 12 step program or did he just swear off the bottle until the end of the election?

“FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST…GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY HE IS FREE AT LAST!”
September 27th, 2007
For the fisrt time in a long time I can breath a sign of relief. Since September 1st, (hangmans nooses), and December of last year, (fight at Jena High), we have been having a broadcast vigil on this blatant abuse of Judiciary power.

Mykael Bell,17, is now a free young man. We were told by the child’s father at around 4pm his bond was reduced down to $45,000, from $90,000. The parents gladly posted the reduced bondat about 4:15 pm thursday and were wating for their son to be processed from the adult jail in Lasalle parish. The parents say they are greatful for all the support they have recieved from generous contributors across our country.

Eariler that day the family members got a surprise visit from mega church BISHOP T.D. JAKES. Jakes met with family members of the Jena Six and according to his web-site was in Jena not only to pray with the families but to personally deliver money for their defense. The meeting was held just after 2:30 pm at Trout Creek Baptist church.

For the record LaSalle Parish D.A Reed Walters did not put Mykael”s case in the Juvenile court because he wanted to, but because he was forced to.

Truth be told it was the State President of the NAACP, Baton Rouge Attorney Earnest Johnson, that was the key in getting Govenor Kathleen Blanco to make a phone call. I find it strange that he was not present at the press conference with her. There is an ugly story behind the story we see plastered on the front pages of so many newspapers when the Govenor appeared flanked by Rev Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III.More about that will come out later.

To find out the truth on why the Govenor Blanco got involved by making a phone call to a member of the State Surpreme Court, tune into my program tommorrow via www.eyesopenwithtonybrown.com . State NAACP Attorney Earnest Johnson will be with us to give us the facts.

We can now exhale, stop holding your breath before your head pops! Mykael Bell, the last incarcerated member of the Jena Six is “FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY HE IS FREE AT LAST!

Keep Your Eyes Open

Yep, mykal bell is free....for now...probably won't be long until he's back in trouble for something or other.

And where does jakes get off telling the film crew from KLAX tv that they can't film him exiting a private plane??? I guess he's trying to hide the fact that he arrived on a private jet, wasting tons of fuel on a scumbag teen who won't amount to a hill of shit.

You guys are scared to death. I can feel you shaking in your booths sitting here at my computer. People get desparate when they feel the power slipping away from them....hence all of the screamin and shoutin about Lance. I have no sympathy for your predicament. You have earned it.

I will give it to you, Lance is young, there will be things he may not know, but he has a great advisor in Rev. Mangum. There will be nothing he hasn't dealt with in all his years of serving our church.

Anonymous said...

holey moley! why didn't you tell me rev. mangum has annointed lance? i don't even think we need to even have a vote now.

Anonymous said...

Rev. Mangum will not try to run the state. He will only help Lance if asked.

Anonymous said...

I might vote for Rev. Mangun if he ran but that still doesn't justify a vote for Lance. I know the Rev. and he would be just as willing to extend a helpful hand or give advice to Beard or Roy.

He was able to give Pres. Clinton some guidance on his love of women - unfortunately that ain't Lance's problem.

I see Maxwell's fag stalker is back

a) He knows where he lived, and when he moved to his new residence
b) He knows what he wears
c) He knows what he drove, and when he got a new vehicle
d) He knows his marital status (and is thrilled by it)
e) He knows everywhere he's worked
f) He's bitchy
g) He's demanding his phone number
h) He doesn't know much about gun laws
i) He can't understand why someone other than a cattle owner would join the assoc.
j) He likes father figures (Beard)
k) He talks non-stop, like a woman
l) He hates religion
m) He doesn't like Vitter because he likes women
n) He's very jealous
o) He refuses to accept that Maxwell has a girlfriend
p) He associates with guys named "Biff"

Gay enough for ya?

He also doesn't post during church times, which leads me to believe he sits in Maxwells church services and watches him.

To anyone in Maxwells camp be leery of someone at our church who seems too "close" to your candidate. Doesn't the Bible say something about a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Hey Biff's friend, get some help. You're starting to scare people.

Anonymous said...

Dear Lance Prancers:
Why don't you have your dandy candidate give a press conference and announce that he is not gay and never has been. That certainly seemed to work for his party mate, Senator Craig.

Anonymous said...

I think Maxwells pew mate is being too tough on the boy. The poster simply said that Maxwell did not have the same girl-chasing problem as Pres. Clinton. Isn't it strange that those who know him best automatically assume that it was a reference to homosexuality? Why is that????

Please explain why we have to be "for" Maxwell just becaues we remember Beard's drunken rides through Alexandria in a squad car...or Chris Roy Jr, snorting cocaine in the bathrooms at Menard.

I don't know a damn thing about the Maxwell kid, but I DO know that both Beard and Roy have a "colorful" history.

Anonymous said...

That begs the question. Roy and Beard may have done bad at some point but they have also done much good. You can evaluate their performances and make a rational decision on their qualifications. Maxwell, as far as we know, has done nothing bad and nothing good (unless you subscribe to that abomination thing) - in short, he has done nothing. There is no indication or reason to believe that he would do anymore than his normal substandard job if elected.

Anonymous said...

Hmmmm first you say... as far as we know, has done nothing bad and nothing good....

Then you say...There is no indication or reason to believe that he would do anymore than his normal substandard job if elected.

You cannot have it both ways...if Lance has done nothing then his job could not be substandard.

In addition, by whose standard is his job to be judges to be substandard. Every one of his past employers have given him high marks. he graduated college with above average gtades ans passed the bar exam on the first try. Something Chris Roy could not accomplish. Mr. Beard did not attend college.

In fact, you might ask yourself if you have accomplished as much in such a short time. My guess is you have not...

Anonymous said...

Perhaps I misspoke (see Brewer) when I suggested that Lance's history of doing nothing is substandard - doing nothing appears to be quite standard for maxwell - ask anybody in the judge's office about "Lazy Lance".

Anonymous said...

I wonder if it is true that the Mayor spent $20,000.00 of taxpayer's money to buy coffee, orange juice and pastries for the bus riders when they arrived at the Coliseum?

Rumour has it Roy had the Alexandria City Police buy the stuff and serve itin order that the bus riders would have snacks waiting when they arrived early in the morning.

Anonymous said...

What a great idea and a decent thing to do. Maybe he was trying to have our fair city avoid a reputation as Satan's Asshole, the way the rest of our state is portrayed in the National Media. The mayor also gets credit for neutralizing the effect of the Grant Parish retards in their noose dangling pickup truck. Unfortunately, he had to disregard a couple Bills of Rights, but, hey, he avoided a dangerous incident.

Anonymous said...

Probably had to violate prourement laws. Of course we need to show our maninimous side to the shakedown preachers three.

Be interesting to see which business suplied the foodstuff. Wonder if he shared the wealth or shopped with a friend.

As far as potraying an decent image to the nation not with my tax dollars. Alexandria had no dog in this fight - Jena did. Let the bus riders spend their money in Alexandria.

Anonymous said...

Should spend our tax money on the D.C. Madame like Maxwell and Vitter.

Anonymous said...

We don't have to be wrong or even actually involved in the Jena matter to get hurt. I hope the Mayor kept us above the fray.

Anonymous said...

Mayor Roy made us look good nationally. Lance is not mature enough to understand. He still had Vitter host a function for him after Vitter made La. a laughing stock with the prostitute scandals.

Anonymous said...

You might want to check Vitters recent poll numbers before you make yourself look like a dumbass

Or you could just wait for the results of the election

Either way, your gay stalking ass will have a boot in it

Anonymous said...

In other words, Lance will surround himself with anyone as long as their poll numbers suit him. Doesn't matter if they are moral deviants.

That tells me a lot about the man-child.

Anonymous said...

Lance, it's "DUCKS" Unlimited. Simple mistake.

Anonymous said...

Everybody is on a high moral kick of of complying with the exact and legal specifications of the City Charter. I don't care how high and mighty Roy's actions were did he violate purchasing rules and regulations by buying, unbidded, $20,000.00 of merchandise to be given away to people.

Louisiana is supposibly the most corrupt state in the union and do we continue this corrupiton to placate and present a false front to outsiders so Roy can get back in the good graces of the people of color?

Funny how violations of procurement law are ok when it serves certain segments of society.

Anonymous said...

So what you are saying is only the City Council has to comply with the City Charter as interpreted by Royboy (assuming Royboy violated procurement practices by spending the $20,000.) If Mr. Mayor did spend $20,000 of tax payers money did the budget need to be amended to reflect this expenditure, was $20,000 budgeted for another purpose spent or what?

Are we implying showing a positive image of Alexandria to bus loads of protestors destined to protest in another city more important than the rule of law?

Funny Blaymond - most especially with his hatred for people of color and zeal for non-corrupt government - isn't in the midle of this.

Anonymous said...

From a legal standpoint does "giving" taxpayers money away to protestors not equate (in the eyes of law) to giving money to Brigette or the Council's attorneys?

Anonymous said...

Somebody "heard" that Roy spent some city funds on refreshments for the Jena protesters visiting in our city and now, all of a sudden, it has risen to the level of "fact" and the basis of accusations of wrong doing and general bitchy complaints. This is exactly what happened in Jena. Somebody gave out some misinformation that others liked so much that they elevated it to "fact" status.

I am always amazed at how much smarter I am than you (are). Oh well!

Anonymous said...

"...or Chris Roy Jr, snorting cocaine in the bathrooms at Menard."

Don't forget he was sniff sniffing( or would it be snort snorting )away with his good friend Chuck Wagner!!

Yes, indeed you did mis-speak. But let's address the standards with which YOU judge Mr. Maxwell. If you base your opinion of him on the blatherings of envious fellow employees who were Mr. Maxwell's subordinates, perhaps it's your analysis that is faulty.

I have never seen an employee who thinks his boss works too hard.

Our buddy Greg Aymond has posted the following on his site:

Stephen Sabludowsky has a post this morning, over on Bayou Buzz, entitled "David Vitter Hurts Louisiana Republican Candidates", with which I happen to agree with. An excerpt from that post is:

* "... Louisiana Republicans have a tremendous amount of good candidates, with strong ideas and good solutions to problems. In many ways, they have been at the forefront of “good government” endeavors that have made a difference with levee reforms, assessor reforms and exposing ethical questions concerning ICF International’s contract with the state to administer the Road Home program... But, for David Vitter to be the one to write to Republican candidates “urging them to sign a government reform pledge that urged them to do their part to improve the state's image” is again, the height of hypocrisy." id.

I see two problems with Greg's little post...first he displays once again that he is not smart enough to originate an idea on his own. His entire blog is cut and pasted from other sites. Second...Aymond agrees with someone quite out of the mainstream thought of Louisiana voters. Need proof? Check Vitter's poll numbers.
Once again Aymond shows his lack of intellegence and imagination.

Perhaps we need to ask again why Aymond is such a coward and refuses to engage in a simple exchange of ideas on this blog. Instead,he insists that we post to his censored site.

Anonymous said...

I think that's correct. when Lance was carrying Judge Ryland's laptop and coffee mug to and from the courtroom, he commanded and supervised dozens - no, hundreds of subordinates. He was feared, yet loved, yet respected, yet admired by all. And it is some of those who lived under Maxwell's direction and command, that will happily tell you that Lance was not worth possum shit and was generally disliked. It must be jealosy.

Among those millions, certainly you should be able to find one other law clerk or secretary who like Lance - suppose you do that.

Anonymous said...

J. Reister have you ever thought of opening your own blog to be an Aymond critic? Do you know any issues to discuss besides Aymond? Why do you keep reading his crap if you don't like it? Get a life other than Aymond. We are getting tired of you cutting and pasting Aymond's stuff on this blog. If we want to read it we will do it on his.

Well actually it was members of the Alexandria City Police Department that were bitching about having to go pick up the $20,000.00 worth of food and then serve it to the bus riders. So one would think if the police are reporting it as fact it is a little buit more than fact. Now Royboy can boy a moonpie and a RC Cola for every black face in America and I don't give a shit until he uses taxpayers money.

He wants to file lawsuits against the City Cuncil for violating the City Charter but he, according to Alexandria Ciy Policemen, has vilated the law in spending money on projects unapproved by the City Council and proper budget adjustment.

All I am saying is Royboy is just as dirty as he thinks the council is.

Now Royboy did you or did you not instruct the Alexandria City Policeman to buy and/or serve refreshments to the tune of $20,000.00 with taxpayers money?

Anonymous said...

So this public service minded police officer knew Roy's instructions were illegal but instead of doing his job and his sworn duty by arresting Roy and refusing to break the law, he did it anyway and then reported the misdeeds to you in your native tongue (obviously not English, based on your language skills) and your solution was to gossip about it on this blog instead of reporting it to the authorities.

Perhaps the term "bullshit" would be appropriate here?

Anonymous said...

Maybe the "Serve" in "Protect and Serve" means serve donuts and snacks to the black panthers.

Anonymous said...

"I don't care how high and mighty Roy's actions were did he violate purchasing rules and regulations by buying, unbidded, $20,000.00 of merchandise to be given away to people."

Actually $20,000 is the cutoff before a bid is required. As long as written quotes were taken, no poilicy, procedure, or law has been broken. And by the way, it has absolutely nothing to do with the "segment of society" involved!

One such candidate has borrowed $150,000 (AND no, that's not a typo!!!) to try and stay in the race. In his last report he borrowed MORE than he raised. In fact, he only had $11,000 on hand to begin the reporting period.

How the hell does he expect to pay that back? HMMMMM. Politic favors maybe? And he claimed to be the candidate of change.

Do we really want someone with no recent law enforcement experience, and obviously NO BUSINESS experience to serve in this capacity????

I have to begin questioning the judgement of this very young man.

To put things in perspective, one destroyed police cruiser would far exceed the purported $20,000.00 worth of refreshments. The example of good will shown far exceeded the monetary cost and possibly made folks think that not everyone in this neck of the woods is uncivilized. It is worth it to me for people to wonder how "racist" folk could be so generous. Maybe someone is wrong.
It was interesting to watch the press coverage last week from Gulf Shores as the facts slowly emerged and folks had to begin explaining their positions.

Let's buy snack for the Iraqi's then, or how about snack for criminals so they don't commit crimes? Are you saying that it cost us $20,000 in snacks so that criminal wouldn't destroy a police car? A 9mm round for a few cents would have accomplsihed the same purpose.

Anonymous said...

If a Black City Council member would have hosted a $20,000.00 bar-b-que and watermelon feast for Brigettes favorite social group Roy would be screaming to high heavens.

I fail to believe he can personally authorize a $20,000 unbudgeted expenditure without Council approval and budget modification.

I also do not care what some one who comes to our fair city for the sole purpose of marching in Jena thinks of our community. Let Jena give them snacks.

Anonymous said...

We already know that there are people who feel as you do - they are called assholes.

Think about the math. The council spends $1500 every meeting to provide snacks for 7 people. Roy manages to feed the masses with $20000. Sounds like a fishes & loaves kind of thing. Makes me wish the snack rumour was actually true. Remember that the council read a resolution commending the administration on their management of the Jena demonstrators. We can assume that Roy's conduct had council support - after all, some of their best friends are negros.

There is not a single ounce of truth to the rumor that any taxpayer dollars were spent on snacks or water by Roy or the Council for the Jena 6 protest. They put up barricades. They closed some streets, and they provided some security detail.

I'm afraid our previous poster was not telling the truth about Wagner's loans.

He did not borrow $150,000 as he has been accused of.

According to his very own reports, he actually borrowed $162,500. Yes that's right. A desperate man for desperate times.

That doesn't seem to be his only problem however. By his own reports, there appears to be a missing $7,500.

Now do we really need funny math at the head of our sheriffs dept.??? Maybe there is truth in the old adage. Here is your brain, and here is your brain on...

It is a proven fact that $20,000.00 was spent on the Jena 6 bus riders. Convene a Grand Jury, start calling in Alexandria City Policeman and get them to testify under oath. You'll se.

I know what we can do to settle the $20,000.00 issue. Mr. Blaymond claims he is for good government and such a close friend of Mr. Roy. Let him to a public records access for the finance department records and see if $20,000 was spent.

I sure am going to believe the Alexandria Police Deopartment over some lieing ass anonymous poster on a blog site.

Odd how that money seems to be the topic of discussion lately.

Roy possibly misappropriating funds?

Wagner missing funds?

Wagner overborrowing funds?

Aren't these two being backed by most of the same group. The so-called gang of 40, good govt. group?

Makes one wonder if the "fight" for good govt. just boils down to to wants to get paid; friends of the council, or friends of the white democraps?????

Before this gets to the grand jury phase, they should subpoena the IP address and service provider of the person who first made the stupid accusation about the city spending $20K for the Jena 6 rally. One woukd think verifiable proof would be the statements made by members of the Alexandria City Police Department in public. I know deep in my hear our Policemen would not lie - Politicians and city suck ups - another matter.

If I lie it is based upon statements made by Policemen. So let us find out the truth from the Policemen that worked the event. Find out from them which stores they purchased the snacks from.

Let's appoint a bi-racial committe of concerned citizens to investigate the matter.

As far as learning an IP address. That is just a threat and diversionary tactics to deflect the light from the illegal transaction. Long, complicated legal matter to stiffle free speech.

It's easy to underestimate Lawson's influence on local affairs. Currently, Fowler and Silver have Lawson's blessing to resist the current majority because they know how the district 4 & 5 constituents feel about the current fracas and with 5 votes they have a cohesive veto-overiding majority without the white boys. Don't ever confuse Silver and Fowler with being sincere opposition to the council. Silver's primary motive and aim in life is to unload his downdown white elephant of a building and he fully realizes that this will not happen without Lawson and his council. Silver and Fowler have never left the plantation: they are just playing to their choir to keep their seats safe. Lawson is every bit as powerful and devious as folks say. Fowler depends on printing from Cabrini and RGH so he is easily controled.

So GAEDA has purchased the Cavalier Motel for $500,000. Apparently one reason for the purchase was the annual cost of $125,000 to the City of Alexandria Police Department because of drugs and other crimes associated with the property. What properties will GAEDA buy next? How about the Motel Six, how about the Alexandria Inn, how about all of Bolton Avenue? I frequently see these properties named in the police blotter as crime scenes. Is that the answer to crime in Alexandria? Pass a tax and use the money to buy the offensive property? Doesn't that merely move the criminal activity to another site? And for the plans that the Cavalier Motel site be developed into a retail and residential site, I would think that in five years that the lot will be just that: a vacant lot! And does anyone know the name of the family that owned the Cavalier since 1942? I found it rather odd that the Town Talk did not identify the family.

Did Lawyer David Hesser breach his sacred professional duty of confidentiality when he revealed the nature and content of his conversations with John C. Ashley, professionally? Can a lawyer just spill your info to the public like that. How can anyone trust talking to a lawyer if they act like that. Can Hesser get in trouble?

Anonymous said...

i'm not sure the attorney-client privilege applies to dead clients. maybe someone else knows for sure.

Anonymous said...

You mean a lawyer can just gossip about what you confided in him or her after you are dead? Man, I hope that's not the case. I mean, this lawyer stuck stuff in the paper for no apparent reason other than some publicity. I don't know the answer either but if all your shit hits the public domain as soon as you pass from this earth, that ought to be made clear before you sit down. Most people tell lawyers and doctors their innermost thoughts and secrets. You are now saying that they aren't safe?

If you dumbasses would read a bit closer, Mr. Ashley made a call to inquire if Mr. Hesser would take his case and in doing so gave a general outline of his circumstances. Mr. Hesser had not agreed to take his case nor had Mr. Ashley retained him. Therefore, no attorney - client relationship existed, hence no violation.

High Court Upholds Attorney-Client Privilege After Death, 1998
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/06/25/scotus.foster/

the Supreme Court justices ruled Thursday that the attorney-client privilege does extend beyond the grave. The justices ruled 6-3 against Starr's request for access to notes taken by late White House deputy counsel Vince Foster's lawyer just days before Foster committed suicide.
Foster spoke with Hamilton for two hours on July 11, 1993, to discuss possible legal representation "in the midst of intense public controversy" about the travel office firings, Hamilton said.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for moving this beyond a guessing game. I always trusted that anything I shared with my lawyer, unless it was a future crime or immediate threat to another, was sacrosanct. Swidler & Berlin v. United States, _ S. Ct. _, No. 971192, 1998 WL 333019 (June 25, 1998).

The U.S. Supreme Court held the attorney-client privilege prevents disclosure of confidential communications after a client has died even where the information is relevant to a criminal proceeding. This includes any confidential information imparted to an attorney in his professional capacity.

Anonymous said...

who ever said he was a client. no one. keep stirring the shit trolls

Anonymous said...

The attorney-client privilege is the foundation for which confidentiality issues lie in legal matters. It is everything in terms of how a case is handled and how it proceeds.

The idea of this privilege is that the client owns it, to put it simply. This means that only the client may waive the privilege which gives consent to reveal information the attorney has received from the client. But even though the client is the sole holder of this privilege, it is the attorney who must tell the client that such a privilege even exists. This privilege is also only between the attorney and the client and does not include non lawyer personnel or jailhouse lawyers.

The confidential communication covered by this privilege may be written or oral. But it must occur under the existence of legal counsel being sought by the client. This also covers the initial consultation a client seeks from a potential attorney. Even if further counsel is not sought, the privilege remains. Attorney-client privilege even extends beyond the death of a client and will only be waived under those circumstances in very rare cases.

This important privilege does extend to other employees of the attorney or holders of confidential communication. One such person would be the legal assistant or paralegal. Anyone who is working on client matters and has access to the confidential information of the client could be held to the attorney-client privilege.

Anonymous said...

are you saying that if an individual asks a lawyer if he handles a certain type of matter and indicates that another lawyer is handling a matter for him and he is not happy with that representation then he establishes an attorney client privilege with the 2nd lawyer?

Anonymous said...

If a client is being represented by another attorney, another lawyer cannot even speak to him about the matter until the client ends the relationship with the first lawyer. If a prospective client discusses a legal matter with a lawyer, the attorney-client privilege attaches whether the client ultimately hires that lawyer or not.

Anonymous said...

This is all true...even if the communication takes place at a party, the mall, soccer practice or in his office.
