Happy Holidays!!!

I have a request of all you bloggers. I ask that for just one day, no one insults anyone or intentionally misconscrue facts in an attempt to assasinate someone's character.

When I read the postings, sometimes I want to hit DELETE for the entire blog. I am in total agreement with Horace. If you haven't jumped in to help out, then you have no say. Let's start 2008 intelligently.

Merry Christmas ... Happy Chanuka ... Merry Quanza ... Merry Hajh (??)

Horace, you're just as anonymous as anyone else on here. Think before you type. I've seen your past remarks, and you've based plenty of your opinions on unproven allegations.

Well, to try to provide some info, I went to Martindale-Hubbell, but only Gremillion's info was listed:

Shannon J. Gremillion, b. 1970; BBA ULM 1991; JD LSU 1995. I know he worked at Bolen for a few years in the mid-90s, then went to Lafayette when his wife got a high paying drug rep job; worked at Briney & Foret there, doing same type insurance defense work. Returned to Alexandria around 2004, first to Mike Johnson's office, then to Bolen Firm, where he is presently.
Maybe someone could put up Loren's info; and I hear one of the Knoll boys is looking into the race.

While other "courthouse crows," like Aymond, wallow in speculation, I prefer to deal in fact. Aymond has an axe to grind with Faircloth simply because Faircloth is well respected, while Aymond is a well-known bottom feeder.

Here’s the truth on the Faircloth/Coushatta case:
The Tribe elected new leadership, and decided to change attorneys. THEY contacted FAIRCLOTH and requested that he take over representation of the tribe. He told them he could not discuss any ongoing legal work that Provost Umphrey was performing for the tribe, but if the tribe wished to change attorneys, they were within their rights to do so. The new Tribal Council voted to hire the Faircloth Firm and fire Provost Umphrey. Once Faircloth was hired, the firm sent notification to Provost Umphrey that the Tribal Council had voted to replace them.

The situation with the tribe was akin to you hiring a house painter. The painter arrives on the job and begins work. Soon after he tells you that his bid to paint your house is too low and he will lose money. He ceases work until you agree to pay him more.

You are within your rights as a homeowner to kick the painter off your property, and hire a new painter. The only legal requirement you have is to pay the painter for the work performed at the agreed on price. You ARE NOT required to pay the painter for the entire cost of the job, or compensate him in any other way except for work performed.

One other thing...notice how our fat little friend Aymond is very careful to use the word "alleged" and "possibly" and "may have" when talking about Faircloth?

In all of his other posts, when Aymond screams about one of his political enemies, he is quick to declare them a crook, or brand them as "unethical."

Why?

Because Aymond knows that Faircloth will mop the courthouse floor with him AGAIN if he lies about him.

Perhaps our fat little dunce needs to get better acquainted with part 4.1 of the Code of Professional Conduct and stop speculating about cases not heard.

Anonymous said...

Unless you are a) Faircloth b) Vilar c) or Elliot.....how would you be in a position to have ANY facts on what did or did not happen?

Anonymous said...

"...how would you be in a position to have ANY facts on what did or did not happen?"

You dumbass, you think that firm has only three lawyers? And how about Faircloth's ex law partner, Judge Davidson?

How about members of the Coushatta Tribal Council and those close to them? How about competing casino operations? If you think the Tunicas in Marksville don't keep up with other tribes in the state, you're a fool!

And what about the other members of the local bar? They have regular social affairs where this kind of stuff is talked about openly...no secrets among them.

The only thing they keep quiet about is the place and time so Aymond won't barge in...

This guy Lawyer Bill sounds like he knows what he's talking about and you sound like an idiot.

Anonymous said...

Not so. I think that "lawyer bill" is what he owes for the bad advice he apparently got. Pay it then shut up.

Up to this point, I have steadfastly defended Mayor Roy and his efforts to move Alexandria in the right direction, even recognizing that he was making certain unsavory accomodations to politics in order to accomplish the greater goal. But this rips it.

The appointment of an out-of-town not particularly gifted criminal lawyer as co-bond council reeks of the absolute worst that Alexandria has ever had to offer. Maybe he can justify it in his own mind by holding his nose and moving forward but the kind of total reversal in all that he preached and promoted just can not be tolerated.

If Roy continues to permit obvious graft and corruption to placate certain "interests" of the Council and other powers that be, he will forever lose whatever moral authority and ethical capital he earned through our landslide support. I doubt that Roy's chief apologist, Lamar, will be able to suggest a rational justification for this horrible lapse.

Come on Jacques. Don't turn into what we all wanted to fight and eliminate in government. If you blow your self-respect on this issue, you will never regain it in the eyes of your followers, much less your detractors.

Don't turn the blue and yellow JACQUES campaign sticker on my Honda window into a badge of shame.

Anonymous said...

Who is the lawyer, anonymous.

Also, what is "co-bond" counsel?

Anonymous said...

I would suggest that you use google to get your answers. It might be faster.

My guess is that it is the candidate who actually knows something about constitutional legal issues and has practiced in that area. Sounds like someone is unhappy that they did not get an invite to the party. Probably would not be too welcome among judges right now, anyway.

Anonymous said...

from today's Town Talk disclosure:
If it will shed some light, Bridget Brown, that well known utilities litigator and bonding expert, was the co-bond counsel on the previous issue. Things don't change, they just let a new white guy pretend he's in charge--------

Foley & Judell, LLP, with offices in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The firrm specializes in municipal and corporate finance. The firm, founded in 1919, provided bonding counsel to the city of Alexandria in 2004. It has provided bond counsel for state and local governments across Louisiana. As part of the SPARC plan, Foley & Judell will handle $25 million in sales tax bonds and will be co-counsel for $15 million in limited-tax revenue bonds.

Carol D. Powell Lexing, based in Monroe. She is most recently known for her representation of "Jena Six" member Mychal Bell. According to Lexing's Web site, she specializes in criminal defense, personal injury, car accidents, construction injuries, divorce, civil rights, discrimination and other criminal matters. Powell will be retained as co-bond counsel for the $25 million issue.

She will then split her considerable fee with Bridget Brown and Brown's handler, Myron Lawson. As an attorney, Mayor Roy is well aware of how the system works and must give his approval to this sham in order for Lawson, Brown and Lexing to pull it off. Mayor Roy also has the authority to stop this obvious corruption...if he chose to do so.

What say you now Lamar, about your icon's feet of clay?

Anonymous said...

. . . . this time I think he stepped in more that "clay . . . .

Anonymous said...

It has been my consistant observation that while Lamar may address lofty concepts of social justice, he is not worth shit at handling issues of real substance like this consultant deal.

And there's really no mystery - Roy let his greed, insecurity, and pragmatism "blossom". It just took some of his diciples longer than others to get the message.

Anonymous said...

And what is this other BS? Sen Lafluer (the deciding vote for the arrogant pay raise) is going to be hired by the city as a consultant?

If the man has no clue what a reasonable salary is for a part-time legislator, how can we trust his billable hours?

Or is this just a f'ed up way of "thanking" the Sen for getting big brother a raise?

Anonymous said...

State Sen. Eric LaFleur will be co-bond counsel for the $15 million issue. He was a contributor to Roy's mayoral campaign.

Roy had said LaFleur's "significant" contribution was made with no expectations.

Uh, right

Same old story. Only the names and skin color change. Instead of Brown getting in with Lawson, we now got LafFleur getting in with the Roys.

Anonymous said...

What's really funny to watch is CenLamar's attempt to justify the continued abuse of Alexandria citizens at the hands of his boss, and the city council.

They're cut from the same cloth.

Anonymous said...

Well, at least all the local payoff isn't going to someone connected to the city counsel. Besides, Lafleur is a Coonass-American from Ville Platte, and thus a deserving minority. Aieeee!

Anonymous said...

Now Now! Lamar has opined, with great authority, that the energy problem is international. What insight! What fresh, novel, and courageous opinions. It may help you to decide your vote in the appeals court race, to know that Gregory Aymond is firmly behind Shannon Gremillion. No inference here. Draw your own conclusions.

Anonymous said...

Is shannon still a republican or did he convert?

Dixon is my current representative. I voted for him in his first run for this seat. But I will never vote for him again. And I will try to convince all of my friends living in his district to vote against him in the next election. He should his true colors by voting for this pay raise. I hope he enjoys his seat while he has it, but I hope it is only for one term.

Anonymous said...

"It may help you to decide your vote in the appeals court race, to know that Gregory Aymond is firmly behind Shannon Gremillion."

Liar liar pants on fire. Here is what Aymond wrote on his blog today "I am unable to support Mr. Gremillion for the Court of Appeal seat being vacated by his father" when he printed a donor list of those really supporting Gremillion.

That doesn't sound too firm to me.

Anonymous said...

Here's a campaign fact that many don't know. If a candidate spends money on his campaign to further his efforts BEFORE he formally announces, he does not have to report the expense.

Example, if someone from Avoyelles Parish spent mega-bucks on opposition research BEFOER he announces, that expense does not have to be named in any campaign finance reports.

Little Shay-Shay is being looked at HARD.

Anonymous said...

The Campaign Finance and Campaign Ethics regulations are radically different in judicial elections and it may be worthwhile for everyone to become familiar with those rule before any related expenditures or solicitations.

It's amazing how little these folks know about the law.

Anonymous said...

To the previous poster:

I agree, they are different. But the fact remains, until a candidate declares, he is not a candidate, and therefore an expense that cannot be traced directly to the campaign, need not be reported.

If a private citizen contracts for "opposition research" on a particular candidate, and then, at a later date decides to declare himself, that research expense does not need to be reported.

Perhaps it is you who needs to become familiar with the law....

Anonymous said...

I am painfully familiar with the law and its application and enforcement. Your opponent will stick your imprudence up your ass sideways. Folks like you make Louisiana politics fun to watch. You want a job interpreting the rules but you just don't quite know how to follow 'em. They never apply to you, just the other fellow - just what we need on the appellate bench.

Anonymous said...

"I am painfully familiar with the law and its application and enforcement."

By "painfully" I must assume that you have been disbarred for malpractice, or had some other punitive action taken against you because of your ineptitude regarding the practice of law.

To set the record straight, I am not a candidate, and do not support Little Shay-Shay or his declared opponent, “Bass Man” Lampert.

Please post again soon…we could all stand a good laugh.

Anonymous said...

Actually, by painfully familiar I mean that I have unfortunately been involved in a campaign in support of a short-cutter and amoral desperate candidate like poor bill. Bill appears to be advocating on behalf of the Avoyelles candidate - a true bastion of legal talent and ethics. Good luck bill. You need a "flexible friend" on the court. I hope they follow your sterling advice.

Anonymous said...

Bill, you may be surprised to know that there are attorneys out there who are actually asked and payed for their advice. You don't seem to be able to give your away. Most be a lonely life.

Anonymous said...

"Bill appears to be advocating on behalf of the Avoyelles candidate..."

Ahhh... another unproven supposition from the politically biased barrister.

Alas, you're wrong again.

I do not believe that appellate court jurist is an inherited position as the Knoll and Gremillion families do.

I also believe that Lampert does not possess the necessary temperament to be a judge at any level. My fondest hope is that a truly qualified candidate will emerge.

So far, my choice would be..."None of the above!"

And to this dullard:

"Bill, you may be surprised to know that there are attorneys out there who are actually asked and payed for their advice."

No surprise here... I have made a comfortable living from my legal advice.

By the way, the word is "paid." Please invest in a dictionary or learn to use spell check before you post again

Anonymous said...

Bill don't seem too busy. It must not take much to keep him "comfortable".
They say if somebody don't charge nothing for their advice they know what it's worth. He does appear to have a good eye for spelling, however.

Anonymous said...

Well, well, well.

It seems candidate Jindal must now come face-to-face with Gov. Jindal. I have seen his campaign mailer that says he will:

"prohibit" the legislature from taking a pay raise in the session the raise was voted on. The only way a gov. can prohibit anything is to veto it.

My, my, my. Wonder which "promise" he breaks? If he breaks the current promise he pisses off the legislature. If he breaks his campaign promise., can you spell "Buddy" Jindal? Remind you of another one term reform gov?

And before you get pissy. Yes I voted for him, twice. Won't next time though. If a poor dem. runs, I just won't vote!

Anonymous said...

Dear Dullard,

Once again I find myself in position to critique your posts. First it was your spelling problem, now it’s basic grammar.

"They say if somebody don't charge nothing for their advice they know what it's worth."

If someone "don’t charge nothing..." then they charge something. Since I do charge for my expertise in the law, then I have to agree with your post.

Secondly, "comfortable" is relative. My standard of "comfort" is higher than most. However, from your spelling and diction problems, I would propose that the simple addition of indoor plumbing would elevate your abode to "comfortable."

Anonymous said...

I nominate lawyer bill for the most obnoxious asshole of the week.

Anonymous said...

There is only one other lawyer that has the time and inclination to post on here with any frequency. Think about it. He ain't exactly known for his brilliance or sterling reputation either. I'm kinda glad bill's got something to do. His obvious absence of clients would make his idle hands the tools of all sorts of meaningless mayhem. Even good Lawyers ain't all that popular anyway.

You morons! I did some checking and our buddy Lawyer Bill first posted on June 3. Since then he has posted 10 times in 15 days. Don’t look like he’s spending too much time here, it’s less than one post a day. He did post three times on June 17 though.

So let’s see... 3 posts in one day, at about 15 minutes per post. Looks like Lawyer Bill spent 45 minutes posting here last Tuesday. Most lawyers get about $175 an hour so Bill lost $131.25 by posting here.

Hell, I spend that much filling up my diesel pick-up.

You morons are probably employees of the DA's office and big fans of "Bass Man" Lampert. You probably posted here from work, costing public time and using public computers.

You know the old saying, "Those that can...do! Those that can't...work in the public sector!"

Anonymous said...

Nope, I just know that Lampert is a time bomb waiting to go off. He still carries that "cop attitude" with him. You know, the one thst says, "I got me a gun, and a badge, so I'm better than you and you have to do like I tell you..."

He's got an inflated opinion of his legal ability, he's a coward, and if it weren't for the public payroll he's always been on...he would starve to death.

I don't know Gremillion or Knoll, but from what I hear they ain't any better.

Just saw the Town Talk story about Darrel "Sticky" Ryland. Guess that explains why Union Bank has stopped making loans lately. He isn't too big on ethics anyway. Check out the loan closing process at the bank if you don't want him to close your loan (and screw up the title). I didn't think that a bank could tell a customer who they have to use to close a loan. With more investigation by the bar association, that could get him more than a slap on the wrist.

Anonymous said...

Looks like attorney Hammonds is out of trouble in Avoyelles Parish. Will the bar clear him too? The inmates at the parish jail are licking their lips hoping he can start making visits again.

Not quite true. Judge Koch is a great judge and totally unrattled. She is fair, patient, and in full control of her courtroom. Swent was not a bad judge because she's a woman but in spite of it.

2 ex-city cops in the city marshall race - Byrd's prayers are answered - TA Messina for god's sake - a look at his personnel file from APD will make you wonder why he isn't in the fucking pen. - a total thug.

Anonymous said...

I agree that Messina is a thug, and a joke! He's the guy that was in charge of a group of convicts assigned to clean the old APD Horse Barns. He ended up allowing them to buy a few cases of beer and have a party on the riverbank.

As far as police officers go, he's a dirty as they come.

Anonymous said...

It's no secret that the FBI has had 4 extra agents assigned to this area, looking into corruption in law Enforcement agencies. Why do you think William Earl retired suddenly?

Word is that TA Messina retired for the same reason. He was told to resign or be discharged, and face possible criminal charges.

Doesn't anybody read this blog anymore? Can't anyone answer this question?

Byrd had a stroke and looks like death warmed over. If elected, will his health allow him to serve?

Anonymous said...

God would probably be the only one able to see the future.

Doesn't anybody read this blog anymore?

No, not many.

Good Morning Quint,

Sorry to bother, but can you squeeze it into your social schedule to start a new thread here please.....
pretty please.....
A NEW election season is UPON us!!!

Than You Very Much In Advance...

"jailbird Louis Marshall to declare him ineligible to be a city council member. About time somebody fixed that problem."

Now don't you look stupid. Probably another lawyer that doesn't know crap about the law.

Anonymous said...

--another lawyer that doesn't know crap about the law.--

Reminds me of our rookie mayor (another clueless lawyer) running around screaming about illegal council meeting. That also didn't turn out the way our resident attorneys said it would.

Now the mayors kissing the A** of those same council members with this SPARC crap

Anonymous said...

"Now don't you look stupid. Probably another lawyer that doesn't know crap about the law."

How would you know? Do you have ANY degree AT ALL dumbass?

Anonymous said...

"How would you know? Do you have ANY degree AT ALL dumbass?"

Yeah, but mine's from LSU not Southern

Anonymous said...

"Yeah, but mine's from LSU not Southern"

Even a SU grad shows more intellegence than you...dumbass!

Anonymous said...

Is this Maynard guy who is running for City Marshal the same goy who got tagged for illegal waste dumping a few years back?

Anonymous said...

"Reminds me of our rookie mayor (another clueless lawyer) running around screaming about illegal council meeting. That also didn't turn out the way our resident attorneys said it would."

The council was found to be violating the open meetings law and was reprimanded by the AG.

You're the clueless one.

Anonymous said...

"You're the clueless one."

Geee thanks for that wonderful insight Lamar.

By the way, you only have about 2 years left on your gravey train. Got another patronage job lined up yet?

Anonymous said...

"By the way, you only have about 2 years left on your gravey train."

uh.....I think it is spelled "gravy,,,"

YEP, must be an LSU grad....DUMB FUCK!

Anonymous said...

"YEP, must be an LSU grad....DUMB FUCK!"

You need to keep your anon posters stright. I'm the LSU grad, and I didn't post that comment.

You Royboys are just pissed that your clock is getting cleaned on a regular basis.

1) They were not "guilty", that's why no one was fined the requisite $100. They just had to sit through a "refresher" course.

2) Marshall won, you lost

3) Smith will lose his challenge, which means Goins will win, and you'll lose another seat

4) Roosevelt will beat your man in the council race, and then embarass Jack in the mayor's race

Anonymous said...

"stright ....... Jack"

"I'm the LSU grad"

Yes, you are...... D.F.

Your myopia is amazing. You are so consumed with envy that you can't admit the obvious: what is good for Jacques and the administration is good for the people of Alexandria. Roy's defense of the public's right to be informed through open meeting was not designed to help him personally but to promote the public good. You keep ranting about Jacques' political suicide even though his good works have built a virtual Roy political dynasty: in control of executive, legislative, and now judicial functions of government. I doubt you can run fast enough to catch up to this band wagon.

Wow, you actually believe this crap. The Long supporters thought the same thing. That turned out well for the citizens didn't it?

I bet you don't believe that same philosophy extends to the Gremillion or Knoll families do you?

Now who's the DF?

Anonymous said...

Wonder exactly what has Jacques actually done other than form committees and run his mouth? I see nothing new from this Administration except for a lot of bullshit.

Do we have anything tangible to show for 2 years of talking? Lamar you sure spread good bullshit about your boss.

There seem to be a lot of very smart people on this blog. Or at least they think they are. Anyway, why don't one of you very smart people start a "Cenla Antics 2". I seriously doubt the fellow who started this blog will ever check back to start a new thread.

Anonymous said...

Good idea. Why don't you start one lazy ass?

Anonymous said...

Besides, what good is a thread anyway. People just say any crap they want regardless of the thread topic. This is only a gossip bulletin board.

Hey smart ass, you really don't think a lazy ass will start a new blog do you. By the way, are we cousins? We are both from the ass family.

Anyone know why there were 5,000 mother fucking gallons of diesel on top of the fucking ATT building?????????????

Anonymous said...

. . . . uh, to run the generators that all public utilities maintain so that services are not interrupted by Alexandria's all to frequent power outages????? What a fucking moron!!!

Anonymous said...

There are not 5,000 gallons of diesel on top of the phone company. Had you have read the article you would realize there are two 300 gallon tanks on top. The diesel runs the turbine that powers the office in case of loss of electricity. Every wonder why your phone works when the power lines are down?

Anonymous said...

5,000 gallons of diesel would weigh 18 1/4 tons. take a hell of a roof to support that weight plus the turbine.

Anonymous said...

"Original estimates were that 4,300 gallons leaked into the building, but Trooper Steve Childers with the Louisiana State Police Hazmat unit said the amount of fuel lost was recalculated after it was determined there was less fuel in the storage tanks than first"

Anonymous said...

Ooops, 2 or more people cannot read the newsaper right HaHaHa

Anonymous said...

Wow, make one little comment about our pinhead mayor and the jackbooted stormtroopers of spin start attacking every comment in sight.

Lamar and his cronies are worse than Joseph Goebbels.

Soon Lamar and his Hitler Youth will suggest a a new public works project...constructing ovens at the old foundry site.

Anonymous said...

"Soon Lamar and his Hitler Youth will suggest a a new public works project...constructing ovens at the old foundry site."

While technically within the scope of what will be allowed at the site, your suggested reuse is abhorant; to compare any political figure to the likes of Hitler or the SS, and then evoke one of the most haunting and diabloical images from the Holocaust is unspeakable. You sir need help or prayers or maybe both!

Anonymous said...

Is Ted Silver still running around on his wife? She must be dumber than dumb.

Anonymous said...

Exactly why is what Ted Silver does any of our or your business?

Anonymous said...

"...to compare any political figure to the likes of Hitler or the SS, and then evoke one of the most haunting and diabloical images from the Holocaust is unspeakable.

Have you read any of Lamar's rantings lately? He sounds like Germany, circa 1937.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Ted Silver speaks unkindly and judgmentally of others and deserves to have his own foibles placed and kept in the public eye. It's a "Golden Rule" kinda thing. Feel free to join in.

NEWS FLASH!
CHARLES FREDERICK SMITH COMES TO THE END OF HIS LONG AND GLORIOUS GRAVY TRAIN RIDE AND MYRON GETS ANOTHER WELL-TRAINED NEGRO VOTE. BRIDGET CAN FILL OUT HER DEPOSIT SLIP FOR THAT CLECO FEE NOW.

Speaking of gravy trains, Ted is still on the family teat after kicking his poor brother to the curb. The only new suits Bill is getting now are the ones delivered by a process server. That Ted's a special sort of guy.

The Royboys are starting to take on water:

1) Lil Jack lost momentum with his secret meeting crap, and is now catering to those same people with this SPARC baloney
2) Chrissy is bleeding money, and pissed that he didn't get a raise, and knows another spec session is coming next year
3) Marshall won his suit
4) CF Smith lost his
5) The Bentley ain't happpening
6) Roosevelt's on track to be the next mayor, and Jackie's trying to find a graceful exit before the next election

Anonymous said...

Who are Little Jack and Jackie?

Anonymous said...

I checked out Lamar's site. It's a bunch of crap about redevelopment. I don't always see eye to eye with the kid, but comparing him to the Nazis is really over the top.

My grandfather survived the Holocaust. It's not an event my family jokes about, and I don't think you should either. You may think it's funny, but to everyone else, you're just showing off your ignorance.

Anonymous said...

1) Does Ed Hooper work and how old is he?

2) What is the story on Ted. Somebody said he was running around in the closet.

Anonymous said...

"Who are Little Jack and Jackie?"

That's pretty simple. Our immature mayor.

Anonymous said...

Although I am no big fan of Harry as my representative on the City Council,as Bill and Ted have never sought public office, I see no reason to post questions here about their personal lives. The purpose of this blog is not to destroy the lives of private individuals.

I am sure the person posting about Bill and Ted may have some things in his or her life that he or she wouldn't want posted for public consumption.

Anonymous said...

Who says, I thought that it was the purpose?

Anonymous said...

"I checked out Lamar's site. It's a bunch of crap about redevelopment. I don't always see eye to eye with the kid, but comparing him to the Nazis is really over the top."

Dig a little deeper dumbass, Lamar is all about self promotion. To accomplish this he attempts to squelch the ideas of others, just like other totalitarian regimes have attempted to do. In this respect, he just like the Nazis.

"My grandfather survived the Holocaust."

Glad to hear he did.

"It's not an event my family jokes about..."

OK, fine.

"...and I don't think you should either."

Now you've joined forces with Lamar, attempting to impose your sanctimonious opinions on me and everyone else because I said something you don't like. Tough shit, I speak and think as I please.

"...and You may think it's funny, but to everyone else, you're just showing off your ignorance."

Fine, hold that opinion if you want to, but don't try and force me into thinking like you. Liberal, socialistic, viewpoints just ain't my style.

Anonymous said...

Apparently neither is politeness or manners.

Anonymous said...

I like Harry. I'm not in his district and he lied about running, the Bently, etc. but he's better than the rest up there. Bill is essentially benign, never intentionally hurt anybody - Ted, on the other hand, is genuinely mean and malicious and hurts family, friends, and strangers for no apparent purpose other than to punish. That deserves justice, nez pas?

Anonymous said...

"Apparently neither is politeness or manners."

"When I want to get their attention I give it to them loud and dirty...that way they won't forget it..."

Gen. George Patton

Unfortunately you ain't no Patton. Most obvious is the fact that Patton would have the guts required to sign his name.

Anonymous said...

“Do not punish this young man because he doesn’t want to take business clients to the hood,”

Quote from Thomas Davenport in Smith/Goins trial posted on "The Light" blog. I'm sure the voters of District 3 can be proud of his attitude toward the hood. Better to take business clients over to the nice neighborhood, but you folks in the district still need to be represented by Lawson, oops, I mean Goins.

Anonymous said...

This whole Bentley fiasco is total b.s. Word is there was another interested party that was turned away at the door right before Lawson, Silver and the gang showed up on the front steps for the press conference. The other party didn't even need money from the city or a TIF. Wonder what kind of deal was promised to Dean, Cyntreniks, Godfrey and Schneider?

Anonymous said...

"Unfortunately you ain't no Patton. Most obvious is the fact that Patton would have the guts required to sign his name."

You poor imbicilic fool.

"If history has taught us anything, its taught us that great leaders should be emulated, for it is in recognizing and copying greatness that we elevate ourselves."

Now run along and get your dictionary so you can translate the previous quote. Perhaps you will also educate yourself as to who said it.

Anonymous said...

Goins enjoys the full faith and confidence of those appearing on his behalf: his mother, Bridget Brown, Myron Lawson, Louis Marshall, and Kelvin Sanders.

Anonymous said...

As the Alexandria political scene heats up, we see three things become apparent.
1. The latest Hotel Bentley/SPARC situation shows that Mayor Roy has become irrelevant.
2. Byrd is not healthy enough to campaign, much less perform his duties as Marshal.
3. Myron Lawson still controls the city.

Anonymous said...

Have you taken a close look at Jimmy Chevalier lately?Byrd might just outlast him!

Anonymous said...

Have you taken a close look at Jimmy Chevalier lately?Byrd might just outlast him!

Anonymous said...

Somebody needs to shine a light on the Ed Hooper guy. He's clearly insane but is he dangerous?

Anonymous said...

Please get on the Town Talk site, and let others know how you feel about our crooked council and the Bentley. It looks as if they are determined to have the citizens pay for the purchase. Must be lots of kick backs and dirty dealings going on. The price keep getting higher and higher. If Buddy Tudor could not make it how in the world are Amos and Andy going to make it. We do not need to finance this white elephant. I am so sick of their dealings.

Anonymous said...

"Have you taken a close look at Jimmy Chevalier lately?Byrd might just outlast him!"

Are you kidding me? Chevalier is everywhere, his signs are up, and he shaking hands and kissing babies all over town! At least he's out there. Byrd can hardly get out of bed, and suffers badly from Alzheimer’s.

Anonymous said...

You ain't kidding about Jimmy shaking hands. His hands are shaking constantly. Does he have Parkinsons and cancer or just cancer?? Byrd is steady at work in city court every day.

Anonymous said...

Byrd is in the office, but not really here. Every time someone wakes him up they have to remind him he's the Marshal.

Anonymous said...

I predict they will be waking him up and reminding of that he is the marshall next year at this time.

Anonymous said...

Is AlexCenla a rather well-heeled blue haired republican real estate sales person noted for her charm, self-serving civil activism and ruthlessness?

Anonymous said...

"Charm" would rule out Mary Jo.

Anonymous said...

Are you referring to the blue-haired 2-named republican maven that the Roy campaign came to call
"Crone 1"?

Anonymous said...

So Stoker is now coaching at Bolton. Old farts never retire, they just smell that way.

Anonymous said...

This is for the person who wrote about Jimmy Chevalier's cancer being an obstacle in this race. He is the only candidate I have seen ALL OVER town meeting new people and explaining his intentions for this job position. It is not right that you would try to put that in front of his and also Byrd's face like that would actually help one of the other candidates win this race. If that is the only bad thing you could come up with on Byrd and Chevalier then in my opinion they are doing really well..

Anonymous said...

How about this: Chevalier spoke to a group and he knows absolutely nothing about the Marshall's office, including how much money he would be paid or what its budget is. How can he promise to improve an office he knows nothing about. If you doubt this, confront him about facts. He doesn't know a goddam thing about the office operation.

Cancer's not his biggest problem: stupid is.

Anonymous said...

Whats really funny is that you call him stupid yet you can't even spell Marshal right!! Thats pretty dam funny!!! First of all why in the hell should it matter whether or not he knows his pay or not. That should be confidential anyway and Im sensing you are going for Messina who is a not all there and its sad that you would want someone like that in charge of all those people. I would end up walking in there one day and every one of the dam inmates would be drunk. Yeah that seems like a really good person to have elected... Think about who you are calling stupid

Anonymous said...

I think we agree that it would be stupid to support somebody for an office that he knew nothing about, don't we?

Anonymous said...

"First of all why in the hell should it matter whether or not he knows his pay or not. That should be confidential anyway"

It is public funds so NO it shouldn't be confidential.

I hear Jim Villard is getting the machine behind him for his bid against Roosevelt. Expect the two other candidates against him to drop out.

So Chuck's drug tests produced NOT ONE person on drugs. All that crap was made up prior to the election by the Menard Mafia, seems WEH and Slocum ran a clean dept. after all.

With Marshall winning his case and CF Smith losing his, appears that once again the mafia is giving poor advice to its cronies.

At least their political influence will have a short, but not so sweet affect on our local politics.

Anonymous said...

Seems like the people of Rapides Parish aren't as stupid as the Menard Mafia thinks they are.

The Roy family thugs and their lackey in the sheriff's chair will end up as one term wonders.

Anonymous said...

Actually, if you consider how many and who no longer works there, the results don't really surprise me very much. The TT article says at least one resigned rather than taking the test.

This appeared on Greg Aymond's blog today...

"So it is an error to call Republicans Conservatives. Some individual Republicans might be Conservatives , as are some Democrats and Libertarians, but being a Republican doesn't mean that one is necessarily a Conservative."

I wonder how Greg can tell the difference between political parties or political philosophies when he views the world from under the hooded robe of A Ku Klux Klansman.

Obviously Greg hates Republicans. My guess is that the local Republican group knows Greg for the phony he is and refuses to have anything to do with him, hence the never ending stream of baseless criticism.

I often wonder what this community did wrong in God’s eyes to have someone as worthless as Greg Aymond foisted upon us.

Anonymous said...

Well said GoPacer. I thhought Aymond was a Republican?
