Happy Holidays!!!

I have a request of all you bloggers. I ask that for just one day, no one insults anyone or intentionally misconscrue facts in an attempt to assasinate someone's character.

When I read the postings, sometimes I want to hit DELETE for the entire blog. I am in total agreement with Horace. If you haven't jumped in to help out, then you have no say. Let's start 2008 intelligently.

Merry Christmas ... Happy Chanuka ... Merry Quanza ... Merry Hajh (??)

Wouldn't Judge Randow have to relinquish is district judge job to run for the court of appeal?

Anonymous said...

Yes.

Anonymous said...

All it takes is one district court judge to step up and the race is over. If Randow qualified, the others would disappear.

Anonymous said...

You are probably right but who can afford to take that kind of chance. As soon as they qualify all their eggs are in that basket and folks start qualifying for their district seat. If those district judges are ready for retirement they would be running to the court of appeals. Gremillion really trick-fucked all of them. I will be shocked if they let him get away with it.

Anonymous said...

will be interesting to see the fall out for Gremillion and his lawfirm after this crappy back room politics effort is desposed of. Will also be interesting to see if Gremillion can get anyone else to go along with him other than a certain hobbit lawyer and a used car salesman with political aspirations and dreams of yet another hair color . At least one person is actively taking notes of anyone that signs on to the Shannon Shenanagan Express and will publish on this site and others. Lets see if the good government folks are really willing to support someone whose soul is such as to change his political affiliation from Republican to democrat only days before announcing his intention to run and uses these kinds of low life political tricks to attempt to get elected.

Anonymous said...

OOOPS...can I retract my resignation please?

Anonymous said...

Loren Lambert has a state-wide reputation in law enforcement and prosecution of drug crimes and will likely garner the support of sheriffs and DAs throughout the district. You are making a big mistake to count him out. I was on one of his jurys and you can't get any better at lawyering that him.

Anonymous said...

Loren is a decent guy, but even he would probably have to back out if a judge decides to run. Its very tough to jump from attorney to appeals court judge unless there are no judges in the race.

Anonymous said...

Who does Shannon Shenangon Express belive will give him money or support once a qualified person decides to run for his dads seat? Lawyer? No way. The judges are pissed off and the lawyers won't want to make them mad by supporting Daddys boy. The general public? Hardly. People are sick of this kind of manipulative political shit and will jump on the bandwagon of whipping pretty boy back to where he came from to prove a point. So Who? The members of Calvary? Nope. This story first broke months ago by a Calvary Baptist member. The Democratic or Republican party? Nope. He just abandoned the Republican party and any of the judges who get into the race will likely already be Democrats. So who? NO....BODY.

Anonymous said...

"Shannon Shenanigan Express" ...hilarious!!!

Anonymous said...

Wow. Greg Beard wants to be an appellate judge. He has to get someone to help him operate the elevator on those rare occassions when he goes to the courthouse to try to get some help on a traffic ticket. On the positive side, he hasn't been caught stealing like his daddy and his brother.

Anonymous said...

Don't Greg Beard and Shannon Gremillion both go to Calvary? Don't their kids go to ACDS?

Maybe this election won't be about Menard and Prompt Succor.

Anonymous said...

Who are Gremillions supporters?

Anonymous said...

The simple answer is that nobody cares who sits on the 3rd Circuit except lawyers. There will be absolutely no interest in this race except for the candidates, the law profession, a few institutional whores like insurance companies, and the prosecutors and criminal defense lawyers and perhaps a plaintiff's organization or two and maybe a few political insiders. When you get to work this morning, ask your colleagues who the third circuit judges are. You can expect a blank and disinterested stare.

You can expect a pretty sophisticated contest among informed and interested folks. That, fortunately, is why a functional moron like Greg Beard can only expect humiliation and defeat. Lampert, Gremillion, and Randow are all capable of doing the job.

Anonymous said...

doesnt take much sophistication to be sick of this kind of underhanded politics and although most won't know who TO vote for everyone will have a clear opinion on who NOT to vote for. Unfortunately for that Hisslop fellow who practices law with Gremillion his chances of winning judges raise in Rapides will be damaged by association. Guaranteed

Anonymous said...

please vote no on lampert. another member of the clique, so i'm told

Anonymous said...

What if Lambert is the most qualified? He didn't go to Menard. He went to Tioga. He didn't go the Southern Law School, he went someplace in Oklahoma. I really don't care who you support but your rediculous comment calls your maturity (and intelligence) into question. Greg Beard probably doesn't belong the the clique that your fear so deeply but he is not smart enough to feed himself. Is that your candidate"

Im not embarrassed, and I think they are doing a fine job.

Anonymous said...

you need to get out more, and away from the clique.

wagner has pissed off a big portion of the parish with his antics (pun intended)

royboy jr has been laughed at by the gov and the legislature,

and his lil bro has screwed up CLECO, council relations, red light cameras, the bentley, crime enforcement, media relations, race relations, spray parks, hiring lamar, and eventually will piss off his base when he starts giving in to the council in hopes to gather support for re-election. when he realizes how much he's disliked, he won't run again.

Anonymous said...

The voters usually get it right, anyway. While the "politicos" sit around and stroke each other, the "regular" person who is concerned about paying the mortgage, putting gas in the tank and feeding the family usually looks at candidates, using their common sense, and pick the best one. While some complain about the current local officials, how do you think things would be going if the opposition would have won?

The mayor has the intelligence and the fortitde to stand up to the council.

State rep. that can stand up to the governor instead of laying down like the rest of the state. Don't worry, Jindal will step in it soon enough.

Sheriff that has inherited a department that needed an overhaul and is catching b.s. for taking some bad guys off of the street.

The voters will also see through the court of appeal sham also.

What's wrong with Southern Law School?

Don't the "Brothers" have to take and pass the same Bar Exam as the crackers from LSU and Tulane?????

Anonymous said...

The brothers don't bother me. Ask yourself why a white person would go to Southern (rated at the bottom of every objective qualitative list) instead of LSU, Tulane, or Loyola.

Anonymous said...

Obviously you have never really had to sit down and think about it. If you had, you would have given a more intelligent answer as to why someone would go to Southern Law. My brother went to LSU, but he was prepared to go to Southern if he didn’t get into LSU. Why you might ask? Two reasons (1) Most people would rather live in Baton Rouge over New Orleans. N.O. is a great place to visit, but overall it has always been dangerous and dirty….plus, Baton Rouge is closer to Alexandria and over the course of three years…the time and money saved (from gas costs) really start to add up. (2) LSU and Southern are state schools, so the tuition is much more reasonable (as opposed to being 120k to 150k in debt if you go to Loyola or Tulane). Now, having said this…lets be real. Most people would probably rather go to LSU as a first choice. But it is pretty tough to get into and really at the end of the day…the only piece of paper that really matters is the one that says you passed the bar. Finally, as a general rule, anybody that can get eventually pass the bar is going to have had good enough grades that they could have gotten into any of the other three (Loyola, Tulane or Southern). They just may have not wanted to go to Loyola or Tulane because of the aforementioned reasons.

Anonymous said...

In fact, the bar passage rate for Southern is substantially below the other three schools and Southern has a history of difficulty with obtaining and maintaining ABA certification. Were it not a "minority" institution, it would probably have never gotten approval. The Southern Law Journal is held in relatively low esteem as a scholarly work as compared to the other Law Review's The Bar Exam is the absolute minimum standard of competence for lawyers. One must assume that a legal education that one gets when going to a better school and interacting with better students would make one a better lawyer. This is a generality and there are very good lawyers and judges that are Southern grads and there are Tulane grads like Judge Johnson, that just don't get it. He didn't get it when he was in practice, he didn't get it when he was in the DA's office and he doesn't get it now.
People go to Southern because its easy to get into and easy to get out of. People who are seeking and excellent education and training select one of the other schools.

This generality only applies to white SU grads. Many black lawyers go to Southern out of tradition and racial pride and that should be respected.

See, I did think about it and I didn't just talk to your brother - I got the facts.

Anonymous said...

LSU law graduate who passes the bar exam = attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana.

SU law graduate who passes the bar exam = attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana.

Loyola law graduate who passes the bar exam = attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana.

Tulane law graduate who passes the bar exam = attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana.

Anonymous said...

I think everyone agrees that graduates of all those law schools who pass the bar meet the minimum license standards to practice law in Louisiana. I don't really think that is what they are talking about. I think they are talking about the general relative quality and reputation of the respective state law schools and their graduates. And I don't really see that there is any disagreement there.

I guess the question is whether or not the quality of the education and professional training ultimately matter in the quality of the lawyer and the answer is that we really don't know.

It is logical to assume that good law school = good graduate = good lawyer. Like you said, that's a generality.

Anonymous said...

This is really a pointless discussion. Some LSU or Tulane grad gets on here an bad mouths the white southern law grads and the southern law grads (who know why they went to SU and know that we know why they went to SU) get defensive and say " so what".

This is a pointless exercise.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget our 5th Amendment right to free speech!

Anonymous said...

Southern law grads have a reputation for repeatedly taking the bar in order to pass.

So the comment about the intelligent mayor, is a bit of a stretch.

Anonymous said...

You mean citizens 0.
They are deferring action because they are caught. The thing you don't understand about the ethics board is that they give you plenty of rope to hang yourself. Kind of like bass fishing, give 'em enough line until they tire and then reel them in. Wait until they are either off the hook or in the boat until you call the outcome. Now is premature.

Anonymous said...

Like bass fishing: if your hook or your camplainant are not very sharp, the big ones get away.

Aymond reminds me of Al Sharpton - lot of noise and publicity and no results.

Anonymous said...

Aymond doesn't run the Ethics Board. It investigated and it brought the charges. It is also it that will prosecute the cases. What does Aymond have to do with it?

Anonymous said...

Aymond filed the complaints and then bragged about it on his blog, published his handywork, and has been running a narrative on the case progress which includes criticism of Brown's lawyer for presenting an apparently effective defense. It's like Sharpton: Aymond makes a lot of noise and fires all these blanks that make a lot of bang and smoke and accomplish nothing. You can bet that the Ethics Board, the 9th JDC and the appeals courts hold their respective noses when they get something with his name on it.

When local candidates get the Aymond endorsement they liken it to a swift yet lasting kick in the nutz.

Anonymous said...

I seem to recall that Aymond was onlyone of many bitching about the Myron Lawson =Bridget Brown shaddy dealings. He is just the only one that got off of his ass and did something about it. From there, the ethics board took over.

Anonymous said...

Happy Mothers Day to all. There seem to be a lot of real Muthas on this site.

Anonymous said...

You people are so naive. If you think that somehow Aymond is the political champion of the little people, bravely drawing his sword when evil government officials rear their un-ethical heads...you have another thing coming.

Aymond is in it for the money. He gets handsomly paid to rail against SOME officials while turning a blind eye on the transgressions of his benefactors. Aymond is selectivly self-rightous, and has absolutely no morals. He's a whore for anyone with the cash to pay him.

There is, however, an exception. Aymond's white sheets and hood are never out of reach. He's a racist of the first order. He hates ALL blacks.

Anonymous said...

Anyone seen this video of Bridgette Brown on her last public funded junket to Atlanta???

It's obvious. Look at who Aymond supports. He absolutely loves the Roy family, refuses to be critical of our new sheriff, even though he's a mental lightweight and a buffoon, and thinks EVERYONE on our current heh, heh, heh, ethics board are pure as the wind driven snow.

If you weren’t so stupid, you could see the signs like everyone else.

Anonymous said...

Wow. You just proved Aymond correct in all things politic. If he likes you, you get elected.

He might be fixing to sully that sterling record if he backs poor Greg Beard. We shall see.

You or either intionally misleading or you haven't read his blog. I searched his blog for Wager and he is definately not pro-Wagner, and far from it. Although I didn't read anything where he calls him a buffoon like you do.

Also, I noticed that he simply announced that Greg Beard is running, no endorsement. Since there is so much interest in what Aymond's blog says, I suggest that you see for yourself and not pay attention to the bullshit here.

Anonymous said...

I'll tell you what that's all about.

Someone hired the Roys as a lawyer, and then gets to recover those costs, by asking for a scholarship to college for their child. A private college scholarship, BTW.

And wouldn't ya know it, the Roys and their kids went to the same private school with the kid that got the scholarship.

MY, my, my. How nice.

So basically the taxpayers are paying the Roys to be lawyers, because their clients are getting awarded tax-funded scholarships. (and before you try to distinguish which who was who's client, they were in practice together, so all monies benefitted the firm)

Now doesn't that paint a pretty picture. The damn Roys can't get unelected fast enough.

Anonymous said...

Simply said, you give stupid a bad name.

Anonymous said...

Edwin Edwards politics, still alive and well in La.

Anonymous said...

The same people that are defending the Roys are probably the ones that bitched about Brown renting office space from Lawson.

I'm starting to sense a pattern. Roy refuses CLECO settlement, which will end up benefitting his former client. Roy awards scholarship, also a benefit to a lawfirm client.

The Roy's play that "i'll scratch your back..." In fact, rumor has it, he told one constituent, that he wouldn't help him in BR because he didn't see a Roy sign in his yard during the campaign.

What a couple asses you folks on that side of the river elected.

Anonymous said...

I assume you voted for Charles Smith or John Sams. Now there are some administrators.

Anonymous said...

I'm from Pineville.
I voted for Clarence Fields

Anonymous said...

Then perhaps you should be blogging about Chris Cabeza Grande Hazel and leave our elected officials alone. We likes the Roys.

Anonymous said...

hell no, we don't

And the truth to the story is not that the constituent didn't have a Roy sign, he had someone else's sign.

Anonymous said...

Why don't some of you brave assed people file some ethics complaints on some of the people you anonymously bitch about? Oh I forgot, you would have to have balls enough to sign your name and offer some proof. Never mind.

Anonymous said...

Not necessary. As long as there are sociopathic publicity hounds looking for anything at all to give them a few moments of notariety I let them do it. I don't wash my own car either.

we'll just wait and muddy up the roys at election time. that's when it will cost them the most.

An answer to Young Lamar on the question of Tulane patronage.

"Government transparency should always extend itself to the blogosphere, but in order for that to occur, bloggers have to be willing to take the initiative to do their homework, conduct their interviews, and sometimes, even file for public information requests."

Kinda hard to do when the Mayor and his minions use every stonewalling technique in the book. Check out the Heath vs. City of Alexandria case.

"On numerous occasions, WeSawThat has been invited for personal sit-down meetings with the Mayor. He has been encouraged to file for public records requests. And he has consistently refused or simply ignored those invitations."

What’s the use? Sit down with the Mayor so he can lecture, spin, and otherwise talk to us like we are somehow beneath him? Ask questions just so the mayor can avoid them when answering? Trying to get the truth from your boss is an exercise in futility.

"He doesn’t trust the government. He seems to loathe nearly every elected politician in the State, regardless of party affiliation or ideology."

Considering Louisiana’s corrupt past, the Roy family’s intimate involvement with those corrupt politicians, and the current crop of scallywags in Baton Rouge, can you blame him?

"But hold on, we’re talking about impugning a teenager’s academic record– implying that her scholarship was somehow nepotism is to suggest that she was undeserving."

I read WeSawThat’s post carefully. NOWHERE did he call into question the Sansing girl’s academic qualifications. You made that leap Lamar, not WeSawThat. Another self-inflicted wound in the foot for Lamar.

"Sansing was one of only a handful of applicants within his district and that, in his opinion, she was clearly the most deserving, given her status as valedictorian and all of her other accomplishments."

More spin Lamar. Are you to have us to believe that there were no other graduates, from any other school, that deserved this honor? None from ASH, or Grace Christian? No other area teen equals the Sansing girl? Please Lamar, save that for those that drink the Mayor’s Kool-Aid.

The truth is that the Sansing girl was selected for three reasons. First and most important, her family ties. Second, she attended Menard. Third, she fit the academic mold. Had this same child carried the last mane of Smith, and attended Rapides High School, she would have been ignored.

Did any other students from Alexandria apply to and get into Tulane? If not, why shouldn't Roy have awarded her the scholarship? Would you rather the scholarship go to someone outside his district? Is there some other student that anyone knows of who missed out? Should the scholarship have gone unused?

Anonymous said...

Did any other students from Alexandria apply to and get into Tulane?

As usual, they don't know and don't care. They just like to talk shit, whether true or not, against the Roys.

Anonymous said...

In answer to your questions...

Did any other students from Alexandria apply to and get into Tulane?

Names of numerous students were submitted to Tulane for qualification selection. Dozens of local students names were submitted to all three area representatives, Chris Hazel, Herbert Dixon, and Chris Roy. Roy had at least 8 names to choose from.

Why shouldn't Roy have awarded her the scholarship?

He had every right to award the scholarship to Sansing. She met the required qualifications. She was the offspring of a key political supporter, she went to Menard, and she had the required grades. Everyone else just had the grades...

Would you rather the scholarship go to someone outside his district?

No, but there were other, well qualified students that could have been chosen, they just lacked the close political ties that the Sansing offspring had.

Is there some other student that anyone knows of who missed out?

Yes, since the scholarship was intended for students who could not afford the tuition, several students missed out on a state supported education at a flagship school so the Roys could engage in political cronism.

Should the scholarship have gone unused?

With more than 2 dozen names submitted from Central Louisiana, and at least 8 from Roy's district, the scholarship would not have gone unused.

Did any other students from Alexandria apply to and get into Tulane?

Sure, students from all over the state apply for admission to Tulane. Many are accepted. However, only three from this area are allowed to attend Tulane for FREE on the Representative Scholarship program. Both Hazel and Dixon chose applicants based on academic qualifications and need. Roy chose the Sansing girl because she was the daughter of a close political supporter, attended his old high school, (Menard) and had the academic requirements. However, she certainly did not need this scholarship. Her father can afford to send her anywhere in the nation to any school, for her college education.

Anonymous said...

"As usual, they don't know and don't care. They just like to talk shit, whether true or not, against the Roys."

Thanks for that classy reply John Flynn...

Anonymous said...

It looks like the old Provosty/Brewer days again. Who else would get off attacking a highschooler for her academic and and scholastic accomplishment? Is that you, Roseanne???

Anonymous said...

No one is attacking the Sansing girl for her accomplishments. Only a Roy Kool-Aid drinker would say so. So take the Roy campaign spin elsewhere. This discussion is not about the student, but about Chris Roy’s political paybacks.

Everyone is attacking Chris Roy for exclusively considering Menard Graduates, and for his obvious political patronage in choosing the daughter of a wealthy political supporter.

The Tulane scholarship is intended to benefit a high schooler that qualifies academically, but financially cannot afford to attend Tulane.

No one can argue that Sansing cannot afford tuition for his daughter.

Unfortunately, by using the Tulane Scholarship as political pay-off, Chris Roy has focused the spotlight of his own corruption, on a high schooler.

Yes, it’s sad, but expected from the next generation of corrupt Louisiana politicians. Both Chris Jr., and his brother Jacques, have learned well from their father, who was at the very center of the corrupt Edwin Edwards machine.

Sansing the father should learn a lesson. When you associate with the Roys, the stench of political corruption may very well rub off on you, and those around you.

Anonymous said...

I repeat, if you have proof of political corruption on the Roy's parts, report them. Otherwise we see through your juvenile and political gamesmanship.

Do support political corruptio by remaining quiet?Or are you as full of shit as I suspect?

Anonymous said...

Why do you respond to this malicious bullshit. The Roys are enormously popular electec officials and have the support of everyone that has a constructive bone in their bodies. Papa Chris is sufficiently reputable and accomplished to be appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to occupy vacant judicial seats, the most recent of which is the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

You need to ask your self who is negatively affected by the Roy elections and the answer becomes quite obvious: Delores Brewer (who is not smart enough to do this on her own) and her arch supporter, sponser, mouthpiece, and profitteer, the Provosty Firm, et al. That bunch specialized in fomenting lies and scandalous accusations. Looks like more of their substandard work. Roseanne, is that you honey????

Anonymous said...

"I repeat, if you have proof of political corruption on the Roy's parts, report them."

And who should I report this "corruption" too? The Attorney General? The heh, heh, heh, Ethics Board? Our own District Attorney?

Please....tell me you have an authority in mind that would act on such a report.

And tell me what there is to report? That Chris Roy shows political favoritism? That he ignores the needs of the underprivileged? That he engages in "scratch my back" politics?

No.

Even though Chris Roy is guilty of all this and much more, he was schooled at his Daddy's feet and knows exactly what to do to remain above the law.

The real question is his moral character, and is he upstanding enough to be our representative. As time goes on I believe that more of Little Chris' shady behavior will come to light. This time the voters will not be fooled. He will have a record to defend.

Is that the same pure as a driven court where a dad is retiring early so his son can step in? Yeah, ya got me there. No dirty politicians there (not a great example).

Actually four students from the Alexandria-Pineville area get a free ride at Tulane - ya'll forgot the Senator has a scholarship to give away as well. Every representative and senator gets 1 scholarship a piece. If there are no students from their district, then they can award to a student outside their district.

Dixon actually had a panel of retired teachers select his recipient, even though a student with the last name Patel won, it seems to be some what "fairer" on the surface since he distanced himself from the selection process.

Don't know how Hazel chose his student. Nor how McPherson chose his.

Seriously, if anyone feels there is a political or ethical violation, you can actually file a complaint with the school. The new requirements were established to prevent the good old boy system from coming into play.

Additionally, all students who receive the scholarships are made fully aware that the scholarship information is public information and that at anytime their name can be published in a paper or information regarding their nomination can be disclosed. So it's not like this Sansing girl didn't know she was entering into the public arena when she asked to be considered for the scholarship.

"Chris is in representing us the the Louisiana Legislature, Jacques is ushering our city into the 21st Century, and you are sniping on Cenla Antics. Think about that for a minute."

Tell me where else we can be heard my Jacques? He promised transparency but he has isolated himself from the public. He ignores public records requests, he does not return phone calls, and refused to take appointments from the "little people." If you don’t have a $2,000 campaign donation in hand, you don’t get to see him. He has resorted to communicating with the voters thru his newly hatched socialist mouthpiece, Lamar White; using the Cenlamar blog as his propaganda source

"Hey, I got an idea for you. Why not ask Chris how he will vote.? Or do you not really care, and just want to talk shit?"

Why ask? All we’ll get is a lie in reply. He lied about Hwy 28, lied about his political pay-offs, lied about his drug use when he was in college...the list goes on!

Honestly, that is ridiculous.

Please tell us who he was refused to speak with, despite their requests.

Please tell us which the public records requests he has personally ignored.

These are just more typical lies from one of the usual suspects.

Let me ask you this: What would a Republican Mayor be doing differently?

Seriously.

(I anticipate an ad hominem attack and nothing substantive, but it's worth a shot).

Anonymous said...

"Honestly, that is ridiculous."

Lamar, you might think it's ridiculous, but the public perception of your boss is just as the other poster described.

There might not be an ounce of truth in his post but you should know that in politics truth doesn't matter.

Perception is reality, and the perception is that Jacques has turned out to be a political elitist who cannot deliver.

As his staffer, it is your job to create, and maintain, a positive public perception of your boss. So far, you have fallen down on the job.

Another truth about politics...Correcting bad press is ten times more difficult than creating good press.

You and your boss have a lot of work to do.

Anonymous said...

With all due respect, given the didactic tone of your comment, what exactly has he failed to deliver on that indicates elitism?

Earlier this week, he announced a $96 million project that will tackle key areas of the City, many of which struggle with high unemployment and a low quality of life index and some of which have been essentially ignored and neglected for decades.

I understand what your perception may be, but I also understand the audience here. For some reason, a handful of uninformed anonymous bloggers believe they are the "media." Cenla Antics isn't the media. It's primarily a sounding board for local Republicans.

When you guys aren't obsessing over me or Greg Aymond, you're bashing someone else. Very rarely is there an intelligent, thought-provoking post-- just a bunch of half-truths and innuendos. And I suppose that if you base your perception on people who enjoy manipulating the facts and personally smearing their neighbors, then perhaps you have a point.

I just represented Mr. Richard Heath approximately 3 weeks ago, in his Public Records lawsuit against the City of Alexandria. The case has been taken under advisement by Judge Randow.

I realize that I am no more believable on this gossip column than Lamar, but here are the facts.

I have made public records requests myself to the City as well as represented clients who have requested records. My requests were timely and correctly answered. Mr. Heath's request, in my opinion, was handled unlawfully. I think that unlawfullness, however, came from a mistake in understanding the legal requirements of the Public Records law.

I do not believe, that Mayor Roy even knew of this Records request until after I filed the lawsuit. In fact, there was absolutely no evidence that Mayor Roy had any involement with the Public Records request, and the entire matter had been decided by staff.

And before you wonder, my relationship with Chris, Chris, Jr. and Jacques Roy is professional in nature only. I have absolutely no social relationship with them whatsoever.

So it is absolutely incorrect to blame these Public Records problems, even the Town Talk one, upon Mayor Roy. These are the facts, but I would guess that the few that still read this so-called blog do not care for the truth.

I see our keystone cop sheriff is at it again. Trustees walking away from confinement to "run an errand." It would have been nice to have some experienced folks running that dept. after the last election.

Oh well, I hope no on gets killed before the next election, and we can send that crew packing.

Anonymous said...

AT least this new sheriff and his deputies caught the criminal and placed him back behind bars. The last sheriff had prisoners walking off and taking sheriffs office vehicles out of state.

Anonymous said...

That's a weak excuse. I don't seem to remember the last sheriff running for re-elction. Seems like things haven't changed any at all, other than trustees excaped then, now they just get to run unsupervised errands.

Yeah, that's a policy with public safety in mind.

Lamar:
"Very rarely is there an intelligent, thought-provoking post-- just a bunch of half-truths and innuendos."

If so...why do you keep coming here, reading and answering posts?

Greg:
"I do not believe, that Mayor Roy even knew of this Records request until after I filed the lawsuit. In fact, there was absolutely no evidence that Mayor Roy had any involvement with the Public Records request, and the entire matter had been decided by staff."

and this:

"So it is absolutely incorrect to blame these Public Records problems, even the Town Talk one, upon Mayor Roy."

You can't have it both ways Greg. As a so called champion of good government, you must agree that in fairness you should apply the same standard to Alexandria as you do to Pineville.

In the past you have personally attacked the Mayor of Pineville, saying he is responsible for all who are employed by that city. Now you relieve the Mayor of Alexandria of the same responsibility when his "staffers" act illegally.

More evidence that you're a fraud Greg, motivated by your hatred of blacks, particularly those that are more successful than you.

Face it Greg, you have never really put away that white sheet and hood, now have you?

Anonymous said...

You poor ignorant hack. Your obvious feeble attempts to discredit me, with untruths, are clear.

The City of Alexandria Public Records lawsuits are totally different. Mayor Fields has made statements in the press about erroneous conclusions and the application of the Public Records law, while Mayor Roy has made none.

I have filed as many ethics complaints and bar complaints against whites as I have blacks, if not more so.

Some of you have been attacking me on here for a couple of years, and it has not stopped me from speaking out or acting, where I have personal knowledge of wrongdoing. I will not stop now either. I do not do act for good government for publicity nor increased business, as it has actually harmed my practice. I do it because it is the right thing to do.

I welcome all that have proof of public corruption or violation of laws to report it. Otherwise, you are a art of the problem not the solution. Most readers of this blog, the few that are left, read it for gossip, and not because they belive much of what is, written. Those that can do, and those that do not attack those that do something for change. By the vicious attacks by some on this blog of those doing something for change, shows that we are striking a nerve and simply spurs us on.

Shannon Gremillion has two problems getting to the judge’s chair. As a candidate, his last name is a liability. People view him as just another “good old boy” trying to ride his daddy’s coat tails into office. That’s a tough problem to overcome, damn near impossible, even for a well qualified, experienced trial attorney.

Which leads us to his second problem. Gremillion is not experienced in a courtroom, he has consistently taken jobs at law firms that don’t require going to trial. When you work as an insurance defense attorney, the name of the game is settle quick and take the cash. Avoid trial at all costs.

He also has serious problems with just about every employer he has ever worked for. They all say he’s lazy, and thinks because his daddy is a judge he doesn’t have to work. Three separate law firms in the space of a year makes him a job hopper as well. Good thing Jay Bolen is friends with Daddy Gremillion or the kid would be starving to death.

Gremillion is damaged goods, and because of that, won’t be able to raise the cash to run a campaign.

He’s toast.

Anonymous said...

Who in the world would vote for a candidate that earned the nick-name "Shay-Shay?"

The Gremillion kid needs to quit now, while he's behind.

Anonymous said...

"He’s Toast..."

Not really. If the Gremillion kid hires someone who can conduct a campaign of lies, then he might have a chance.

He has to lie about his family’s connections to EWE, lie about his experience, lie about his inability to hold a job, and lie about mental ability.

Sounds like a job for John Flynn.

Anonymous said...

Maybe, but we don't have much of a choice in the 3rd circuit race, do we?

We got a stupid, lazy, daddy's kid running on a family name that is tied to EWE and state corruption.

He's running against a ex-cop with limited talent in the legal field, and that cop superiority attitude.

Unless someone else jumps in, the 3rd circuit won't be getting any prizes with these two.

Better yet, go talk to these candidates themselves!

Lampert looks at you like you gave an un-paid traffic ticket, and he's sending your ass to jail over it.

Neither one of these two has the makings of a judge.

"I wouldn't want any of you goons trying to talk to me either"

Besides, if you're a supporter of either one of these two, you're either a blind kool-ade drinker or a fool.

I just want to say that I don't know a single person who will vote for Loren Lampert. Look at his prosecution record, and how many cases he pleads out, and decide for yourself. The man is not capable of making unbiased decisions, and he will have a hard time winning his own area over. He's made alot of enemies with his involvement in other political elections.

I don't know anything about the Gremillion fellow, but for those who say he doesn't have a chance because he's lazy and is riding on his daddy's coat tails...it seems that's what Rapides Parish voters at least are supporting these days. Look at our new "Sheriff"...

Anonymous said...

I don't know much about his politics, but you're dead wrong about Lambert as a prosecutor. He is by far the best I've ever seen and will go to trial at the drop of a hat. Ask a cop - they will tell you he is the prosecutor they want handling their case.

I never heard of gremillion before now.

Anonymous said...

Here is one that will vote for Loren. I ssupect that, despite what you say, there will be others that vote for him too.

It's not his daddy's coat tails, it's his daddy's cronies. Take a quick look at Daddy Gremillion's close ties with the Cajun Mafia, Edwin Edwards, gambling, etc. Take a close look at little "Shay-Shay's" grades in undergrad and law school. Look at his bar exam....

Daddy's fingerprints are everywhere, fixing grades and stuffing the pockets of his professors with gambling cash.

Now take a close look at who is keeping Daddy Gremillion's seat warm, waiting for little Shay-Shay. None other than "Big Chris" Roy. EWE's official bag man. The guy who carried brown bags of pay-off cash stuffed in the bottom of a golf bag.

Ya think little "Shay-Shay" won't do just what his Daddy says to do? Ya think he has the brains to judge cases all by himself?

Louisiana is infested with crooked judges now. Just look at the two that the Feds took down in Caddo Parish.

No wonder Louisiana is in the top ten "judicial hellholes" in the country.

No single voter matters much you dolt!

It's the collective opinion of the voters that count. Convince enough people to think and act alike and that group can get their candidate elected.

Now that you've been schooled...crawl back under the rock where you came from.

Fact:

Since Lampert has been in the DA's office he personally has had more felony trials than all of the other 14 or 15 prosecutors PUT TOGETHER. He has a state wide reputation for being tough but fair. Its funny that Shannon is taking shots at him from dark corners. What a guy.

Anonymous said...

Two absolute facts that Lampert and Little Shay-Shay cannot escape from:

1) It's easy to rack up lots of felony trials when you handle drug cases because just about EVERYTHING is a felony. It's also easy to plead those cases down, slap the drug dealers on the wrist, and turn them back on the streets. Lampert heards them through court like cattle, and they're all back on the street in a few hours. Metro Narcotics hates the guy. They call him "Bass Man" because he practices "catch and release."

2) Little Shay-Shay Gremillion was working for a firm in Lafayette when he was asked to leave. Details are very hush-hush but rumor has it that, little Shay-Shay was not pulling his weight, and was spending far too much time with female members of the staff.
Job #2 was with the local firm of Johnson and Siebeneicher where it took Mike Johnson less than 90 days or so to realize that Little Shay-Shay was a legal deadhead. When Johnson fired him he went begging at Jay Bolen's firm. Bolen is old friends with Daddy Gremillion and took pity on Little Shay-Shay. Bolen hired him, that makes job #3. Shay-Shay has been with the Bolen firm for several months.

#1 Lafayette to, #2 Johnson and Siebeneicher, to #3 the Bolen Firm, all in the space of less than 6 months...

Neither of these guys is fit to be judge. Lets hope someone else throws their hat in the ring...

"the one thing i'm sure of is that you would never-ever-ever-ever say anything like that to his face."

You’re so full of bullshit! I stood nose to nose with Lampert in the Rapides Parish Courthouse right after he pled down a meth-head who robbed one of my employees at gunpoint. I watch the fear in his eyes as he tried to explain away his actions. I looked him straight in the face and told him that I thought his little spread in Deville was paid for with dirty money. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

Don’t tell me he’s some sort of brave anti-drug crusader. Lampert is nothing but a spineless slug who takes the cowards, easy way out.

And if Lampert wants to discuss this further, he knows where to find me.

Really? Perhaps you need to take a look at today's Town Talk...
Look at the quote from Narcotics Commander Newmon Bobb.

Alexandria Police Arrest 30 On Drug Charges
"We know one of two things could happen after these arrests," he said. "Either the suspected drug dealer will be back out on the street in hours, or someone else will be in their place.

Guess who's the lead prosecutor in those durg cases...Lampert!

I guess the "Bass Man" ain't such a tough guy after all. It don't take a lot of brains or guts to practice "catch and release."

Anonymous said...

I guess I figured all this crap was coming from Shay Shay the Magnificent but now I hear that it is coming from an Avoyelles political family that thinks it is entitled to another big job and are about to focus on this appeals court race.

That figure someone gave is apparently right. Lampert has had more trials than all the other assistant district attorneys combined. When you have a trial that means that you didn't make a deal, right? Anyway, everybody I talk to who would know what's what at the court house says Lampert is the best think that happened to drug enforcement since the search warrant. That's where you folks need to get your information, not from anonymous blog snipers. And from what they tell me about Lampert, I seriously doubt that anybody confronted him in the courthouse and would have the courage to brag about it here. That would take real courage and we don't see much of that from us "anonymi".

"Anyone who truly knows the Gremillion family, knows that Shannon and his family moved to Alexandria over 3 years ago. That pretty mch sinks your six month time line. Give it a rest."

Let's see...you're an idiot because....

So what if Shannon left Lafayette 3 years ago? So what if he's been sucking off the Bolen, Parker and Brenner tit for the past 3 years?
The time line is still true!

Gets run off from job #1 in Lafayette and takes job #2 with Mike Johnson's firm. 90 days later, he gets run off from Job #2 and Daddy pulls some strings with Jay Bolen so little Shay-Shay and have a desk to sit at. The Bolen job is #3.

3 jobs in the space of 6 months...

Where's the time line screw up?

Just because little Shay-Shay did the law firm tapdance a couple of years ago doesn't make the time line for his job hopping invalid!

Dumbass!

But his daddy says he's the best guy!!!

Instead of all your vapant time dancing, just give us some dates: When did he leave Lafayette? When was he hired by Johnson? When was he hired by Bolen?

Since you apparently provide HR services to the entire Louisiana bar that should be no problem.

I would think that the more significant consideration is that Sha Sha was a critical part of a plot hatched by his father to steal a judicial seat. At least his dad waited until the end of his career to become a crook. Sha Sha is launching his career as a crook. Because of their shenanigans I see a compelling reason not to reward Sha Sha and dad for their double dealings. Elect someone, anyone else.

Except Loren "Bass Man" Lampert! Take a look at this:

"It's easy to rack up lots of felony trials when you handle drug cases because just about EVERYTHING is a felony. It's also easy to plead those cases down, slap the drug dealers on the wrist, and turn them back on the streets. Lampert heards them through court like cattle, and they're all back on the street in a few hours. Metro Narcotics hates the guy. They call him "Bass Man" because he practices "catch and release."

and this

"What ever happened with the allegations that Lampert was skimming a little off the top of the drugs he seized when he was with APD?"

and this

"You’re so full of bullshit! He looked like a deer caught in the headlights."

and finally this from the Town Talk...

In my view, both "Bass Man" Lampert and Little Shay-Shay are unacceptable.

I guess I don't understand the process. The cops arrest a drug dealer. They bring him to jail where a judge (and only a judge) sets the bail and conditions of release. Then they go to trial (remember, has had more trials that all other prosecutors combined) and a judge or jury decides their guilt and they are sentenced by the judge.

Now we all know that this is typical chickenshit blogging with making up outrageous stuff that you will never be able to back up - for instance if I were to allege that your mother is a whore - difficult to disprove on a blog like this - even if stated without any basis in fact - but there is something particularly cowardly about making up lies about a nationally recognized prosecutor just to advance your own interests. We don't know who you are but I suspect it will become obvious when a third candidate emerges in the appeals court race, particularly if it is from some well-known political family whose ethical reputation is not necessarily entirely intact.

I, like others, regularly read this blog but I know what it is so "I watch where I step".

You’re right you idiot, you don’t understand the process.

"The cops arrest a drug dealer. They bring him to jail where a judge (and only a judge) sets the bail and conditions of release."

Based on several factors, among them, recommendations from the DA’s office, i.e. Lampert!

"Then they go to trial (remember, has had more trials that all other prosecutors combined)"

On the charges the DA has brought against the defendant, reduced, plea bargained, anything to rack up that "trial" count. I wonder why nobody can find Lampert's prosecution records at the DA's office?

"and a judge or jury decides their guilt"

Based on the effectiveness of the prosecution. Many times the "perp" walks...

"and they are sentenced by the judge."

"Now we all know that this is typical chickenshit blogging with making up outrageous stuff that you will never be able to back up"

Really? Public information requests cut both ways John, But tell us, why has Lampert's prosecution records suddenly been "misplaced?" Why can't we find exactaly how many cases he's been assigned? And how many of those cases has "Bass Man" reduced, or cut loose for lack of "evidence?" Just how many of those drug dealers has he put behing bars? Why can't we find out the true statistics John?

"for instance if I were to allege that your mother is a whore - difficult to disprove on a blog like this - even if stated without any basis in fact - but there is something particularly cowardly about making up lies about a nationally recognized prosecutor just to advance your own interests."

Like the lies you made up and spread during other campaigns John?

"We don't know who you are but I suspect it will become obvious when a third candidate emerges in the appeals court race, particularly if it is from some well-known political family whose ethical reputation is not necessarily entirely intact.

Well, well, well...when it comes to unethical conduct, we have to bow to the acknowledged master...John Flynn (or his surrogates!) You want a nasty race John? You and your candidate have a lot more skeletons than anybody else. They WILL come tumbling out.

This time, you ain't running against some cracker from Deville.

GOVERNOR'S TOP LAWYER SUED AND ALLEGED TO BE UNETHICAL
Today, June 09, 2008, 35 minutes ago | noreply@blogger.com (Political Bloggers)
Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal's, Executive Legal Counsel, Jimmy Faircloth, Jr., has been used and alleged to have acted unethically.

The lawsuit, filed in the 9th Judicial District Court of Rapides Parish, as well as in Allen Parish, it purports, docket number 231,751, was filed on behalf of the Texas law firm of Provost Umphrey, by the Lake Charles law firm of Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan, alleges that Faircloth maligned the Texas firm to get them kicked out of representing the Coshatta tribe in the lawsuit that the tribe had against several lobbyists including Jack Abramoff. The firm's fee was to have been 40% of approximately $32 million.

The lawsuit further alleges that Faircloth maligned the Provost law firm in order to unethically solicit the Coushattas away from the Provost firm.

Thank you for that post Greg, but by now we are all well aware that you hate Faircloth, mainly because he has whipped your ass so many times in court.

Your attempts at half truths, misrepresentations of fact, and out right lies are of no interest to anyone.

Give it a rest...

I don't know about Greg, but that is what the lawsuit says.

One of the appeals court candidates is invited to attend the La. Judges Conference in Florida this week to conduct a class on certain fundamental constitutional legal issues. I wonder who that is????????
