My humble apologies fellow blogians! I have been traveling out of state as of late, and am even now adding this thread from the great state of Texas. My cell phone was very active today with calls about Senator Vitter's visit to Alexandria today as well as Bobby Jindal's visit as well.
I am sure that our city councilmen are behaving a bit more conservatively these days... they may be next. The President of the New Orleans council resigned yesterday after being indicted by the feds after being caught accepting kick backs. His "take" was less than $15,000. He should have run for Congress where you are able to take $90,000 and allow it to go unreported!

Mayors from cities throughout Louisiana are expected to gather this week in Shreveport, host of the state chapter of the National Conference of Black Mayors' state conference this year.
Hundreds of people, including more than 20 Louisiana mayors, are expected to attend the 19th annual event that runs today through Saturday in the Shreveport Convention Center.
The conference provides an opportunity for municipal leaders to talk about issues and challenges they face along with strategies and ideas that colleagues, other government officials and the private sector have to offer, Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover said.
The theme is Louisiana at the Crossroads. Topics on the agenda include economic development and access, community development, work force development, quality-of-life initiatives, funding and compliance, industry and economic development/film along with public safety, legal resources and the annual board of directors meeting.
With headquarters in Georgia, the National Conference of Black Mayors Inc. is a private, nonpartisan nonprofit that serves more than 500 mayors representing more than 30 million citizens nationwide, according to its Web site.
Among the organization's duties are providing management assistance, communicating members' positions on national public policy and legislation, having educational forums and acting as an information clearinghouse for municipal development information, the site states.

You can take pretty much any association for example and it would be a safe bet that somewhere in the U.S. there's a blacks-only version of it. It wouldn't matter if you had an association of people who like to eat sh**, shortly after it's formed, the inception of the American Association for Black Sh** Eaters is soon to follow.

change goes both ways...yes in the past black mayors were not accepted, but now they are...if you want equality you need to get rid of BET. Miss Black America pageant and any organization that wants to continue as a "Historically black institution...if you don't like racism and want it to stop....stop practicing it!!!
You feel it's ok to continue these practices but if some white mayors decided to have conferences and call it a white mayor's conference...Sharpton would be down in a minute and it would be condemned by every media in the USA....they would be calling it a KKK conference!

Here are 3 definitions for racism that are on dictionary.com. Please tell me how the black mayors' conference is racism. No one has to get angry. I just don't see how this equates to racism.

Just for research/results...think up an organization (this will work if your white) fishing, hunting, card playing..what ever....and take out a small want add in the paper looking for members, saying this is to be, (an example), white men fishing club or White Democratic Caucus and let's see if the word racism is mentioned.

Maybe racist isn't the right word for what they're doing. But if there was a "white mayor's conference" how many seconds would it take for everyone to yell racism?
Since you're usually on the other side as everyone else on these issues Greg (don't take that as pejorative), I'd like an intelligent answer to this question: Why should white people not be offended at the limitless examples of black exclusiveness that would be absolutely unacceptable for whites to do the same thing?

By having the black mayor's conference, a Miss Black pageant, the
channel by Blacks etc.....is racists. They are separating themselves from
the other races. Excluding other races is a racist act.
What do you think would happen if there was a pageant called
Miss White America or an exclusive of white tv network etc...?

many white people are tired of apologizing for being white..we do this by being quiet on these subjects in fear of being labeled as a "white supremacist".
a few years ago a movie came out..White MEN Can't Jump...hustling basket ball games...black comedians love to make jokes about this and love to make white people look..up tight.
It wouldn't be funny if a new movie came out called "Black Men Can't Swim!" The movie would be boycotted and anyone who went to see it (white people) would be labeled racist.

I DO NOT SPEAK FOR EVERYONE...and I don’t consider myself a racist. I have friends of all races. I choose and keep friends on their ethics, morals and loyalty and try and treat them as I want to be treated. On several occasions we (my friends of all races) have engaged in the conversation of race, and not just recently.
Our conversations have turned to topics as the "Miss Black America", The United Negro College Fund and many others, as well as why white college bound children don't have the same opportunities as black or indian. At this time in history, whites are the minority. We have been force fed that the black race is impoverished, bound by their history and incapable of competing with the white race due to their history.
When does history actually become history? How many generations ago were the nooses? Why are they provided more opportunity than any other race? And with all of these opportunities why do they still insist on crying racisim and unfair and unjust treatment. They have more federal and state grant money available for college, more opportunity for advancement than any other race. And yet whites are accused of racism???

What Can An American Buy in Mexico?
The regulations on the sale of real property to foreigners are found in the Mexican Foreign Investment Law. An American (or any foreign national) can acquire land almost anywhere in Mexico with the permission of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. 2. Real estate intended for both industrial, commercial or tourist use and residential use;
3. Real estate acquired by credit institutions in payment of debts;
4. Real estate bought by companies to be developed and sold. This would include apartments and residential communities; and
5. Generally, any real estate to be used for commercial, industrial or agricultural purposes, as well as, ranching, fishing, forestry, or to provide services.
The Regulations make clear that this list is not complete and that any questions of whether an activity is residential should be sent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Just watched KALB-TV's Sheriff Candidate Forum! Mr. Tanner, when asked what he would do about the ten thousand warrants not yet served by the Rapides Sheriff's Office, stated that first he would determine if the person charged is actually innocent or guilty. I was stunned! I was amazed! Here is such a simple solution to the problem of too much government. The sheriff could serve both as a law enforcer and the judge. And perhaps, should the defendant be determined guilty in a capital charge case, the sheriff could also serve as executioner. Think of the savings of tax payers' money. So I encourage everyone to vote for Mr. Tanner for sheriff. But I would caution you do it quickly before there is another head count at Central State Hospital and it is discovered that a patient has escaped.

Biff, prior to the election a very influential courthouse person obtained the RPSO current payroll and circulated it arround town via any lawyer who wandered by. Charles F. Smith gets a hell of a salary plus car plus liberal benefits for doing absolutely nothing. Rosevelt Johnson is on the payroll since his dismissal from KALB, don't know about Joe Fuller. Notice that Slocum's votes came largely from the black areas. Slocum is loathe to talk about these freeloaders and has promised more worthless parasites more of our money if elected. I think that's the reason the courthouse folks got and circulated the payroll. Wagner has pledged to stop this stuff.
