One Week Left ...
Sorry citizens, I was out of town for the past week. Although I have yet to peruse your vast comments, I have been told that there is an interest into the ownership of this blog. So I have decided to drop a few hints. I am a tall individual of small stature, I am a heavy light weight with light dark hair. I am a Democrat with severe conservative views and a Republican with liberal views. I am plainly who I am ... in short I am you.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 533 of 533I would like to see a comprehensive list of those people who have financed this campaign that Mrs. Brewer has run.
To what end?
On November 1, Frances Davis and Paul Davis just gave her $5,000. Edan Moran just gave her $1000. Power PAC gave her $750.
On October 31, Dallas Hixson gave her $1000 and Robert Hughes gave her $1250.
These are the people funding the negative campaigning. At this point, they're not simply donating to a cause; they're funding willful and documented deception of the public.
As some of you probably know, the Davises own the land now known as the Lakes District. Current plans for the Versailles Extension ensures the Lakes will benefit tremendously from this project.
I wonder where the City of Alexandria buys its vehicles???
Most of the people that sent Brewer a check had no clue of the kind or war we were financing. We didn't know the kind of person she was and the kind of people who guided her until that fatal press conference. By then it was too late - for all of us.
It's never too late! Vote Right! It counts more than your money.
Re: the Lakes Dist.
the Noles Crone Squad in the moral foundation of the Brewer campaign.
The people who put there money on Delores lost it. Remember you can buy a councilman for much less than a mayor. They just won't stay bought. You gotta keep going back to the well.
Their freezers are an economic enterprise zone.
Hughes is Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix.
How interesting. Roy isn’t an electronic filer with the Ethics Administration.
Hey Breweristas, how is the Kool-Aid tasting today? I came by early this morning and peed in the cooler.
I am still haunted by Brewer's position on promises: you can change your mind and you are under no moral obligation to keep your word. What possible value is a promise or pledge or committment from Brewer when she feels that it has absolutely no binding effect. That is sick reasoning. I don't think that Domino's can afford this quality of employee.
Instead of a role of who has a city car a better questin would be a listing of who has a city car and why? City Accountants need to respond to emergencies?
Wish my boss furnished me a vehicle and did not report it on a 2099.
two hings I got out of the KALB convrsation - 1. Brewer captulated and;
2 Brewer needs a boob lift job so her teats will fit on top of the coutner.
Age and gravity has taken an adverse effect. Bet she could find a rat to eat that mole.
Maybe they have a city car because city offices are NOT centrally located. The city has offices all over town. Can you imagine the mileage on a personal vehicle.
First of all its a 1099 not a 2099. Secondly, City employees are taxed for the commuting use of their City vehicles.
People like you should have their voting privileges suspended indefinitely!!!!!
Excuse me for mistyping asshole. Why should the city furnish you a vehicle? I don't live in the City. born there and raised there and left there about 8 years ago because of the asshole city employees, city taxes, all city revenue being spent with fair haired friends and because of assholes like you.
Why? Because I am on 24 hour call as per my JOB DESCRIPTION. Its sad you feel that way. Sure the City, like any business, has its share of deadheads but for the most part they have a dedicated group of people who are woefully underpaid. Woopy I get to drive a vehicle home but make 35% less doing it. Thanks for your support.
Maybe the City should do like the state and rather than dedicate a vehicle to a deadhead employee let the deadhead check out an available vehicle from the motor pool.
Funny it has worked for every body else but City of Alexandria deadhead employees. What in the hell does the finance department need a vehile for?
Anon 7:30 without telling us to much information so yo may be identified what do you do?
Lots of companies have motor pools. You go to work, you need to run a work-related errand - they let you use a vehicle.
That really begs the question of why somebody like Joe Despino, a civil service employee that works in puchasing, requires a take-home city car. Despino is not a bad guy, he is just taking advantage of a broken system. How can the city justify these costs and liabilities and wasted assets?
Lets call it essential services - can't live without it and it can wait 'til Monday morning.
I don't understand why city employees have vehicles assigned to them. Even if a person is on 24 hour call a person should drive their personal owned vehicle to their reporting place and pick up a city vehicle.
How many soldiers drive tanks home when off? How many air force pilots drive airplanes home when off? Driving vehicles home is just more bureacratic bullshit to faten the pocket book of the city employee.
Oh and don't bitch about the wages you receive. If you don't like your wage rate go find another job. Only bad thing is in private enterprise you are expected to work. Private business pays little for time spent drinking coffee, politicing or bull shitting.
Oh and I forgot to add before you tell me abut your dedication and desire to serve the public I say bull shit. Stop your paycheck and you are gone. You are a city employee because it benefits you or at the time you were hired yo other job was available. Your employment with the city is designed, from your viewpoint, to benefit you, no one else.
To 7:40 and 7:45 -
Because you citizens expect a propmt response. Your solution would add a good 30 minutes to any response time.
I came from the private sector and know what it is to work and no I was not fired form the private sector either. I stay because I like what I do. The frustrating part is people like you expect the world but don't want to pay for it. Remember that the next time your water is brown or you smell gas and call us for help.
The reason our water is brown or we smell gas is normally due to your screw ups. Tell me what is so important that you do that in this "emergency" going get a vehicle at the motor pool will add 30 minutes to your response.
Do you drive a bucket truck home? do you drive a fully equipped gas service truck home? Do you drve a fully equipped water service truck home? How does a "car" allow you to respond to an emergency 30 minutes early and do something?
You obviously had a bad experience with one employee and have unfairly grouped us all in the same lot. That, my friend, is unfortunate.
within the past two years, i smelled gas in one of the rooms in my house. there was one of those wall heater things in there. i was pregnant at the time and anxious (of course) about this. i called the city and a friendly older gentleman was there literally within 10 minutes. i was impressed. he fixed the problem quickly. i am very grateful to city workers.
My lights went out this morning and were back on in about 20 minutes. Not bad considering it was not an isolated thing.
i am pleased with trash pickup. god bless those men.
Are there people who can better serve the city if they are provided with a vehicle - of course.
I don't mind paying for city services, which, by the way, are quite good.
My question is specifically about the justification for having somebody from the city purchasing office has a really nice expensive take-home car. I resent the in-my-face waste and abuse. The money we waste on rediculous stuff like a take-home car for Joe Despino is money that we can't spend on recreation or police officers or misquito abatement or an arts program repairing the city trash trucks.
Why would you attempt to cope out by "assuming" I have had a bad experience with a city employee. I have never had a bad experience with a city employee. I just realize that for a person to work for the city they are either unemployeable, do not desire to work, are there for the benefits are so old they cannot get a job elsewhere. Why would a crafts or professional person work for the wages the city pays. It is because yor a deadhead lazy SOB who can't cut it in the real world or a retiree from another government job wtill wanting to suck at the government teat. Wonder why folks retire from the Police Jury and go to work for the city - because it financially benefits them. Why did Cecil retire from his job with the parish and go to work for the city? Because he could make more money doing nothing. If he had to produce in civilian life he couldn't.
I havn't had a bad experience I am just honest. You should try being honest.
Oh by the way, we are speaking of cars, not service vehicles. Another good question why do the Fire Department white shirts ned a driver? Don't know how to drive or what? Seems like a wasted position. Let the fool drive himself.
My husband has one of those city vehicles, and all that i can say is that it is a pain in the ass. He can only drive it for work, which is fine. But, what a pain. He can't stop by Kroger on the way home to get milk, he might get in trouble. can't pick up the kids from school, even if they are sick. So, we have an extra vehicle that sits all week. Lots of wasted gas, going home to get the family car, so he can buy a loaf of bread. How is having this take home vehicle an advantage?? He doesn't have to buy gas to get to and from work. Thats it. Plus, he is on call 24 hours a day.
I am not sure what benefit you think this is givving the employees.
Maybe some of the advantages are that he is racking up miles on a personal owned vehicle, not subjecting a person owned vehicle to wear and tear or not subjecting a personal owned vehicle to an accident.
Give the dayum thing back if you don't want it. How many times in the last year has he been called out?
should have said not racking up miles on a personally owned vehcile. By the way does he pay for the fuel used in commuting? Does he receive either a 1099 or 2099 (just to keep the blog police happy) for the use of the vehicle?
An employer cannot defray the expenses of an employee to go to and from work.
"Why would a crafts or professional person work for the wages the city pays. It is because yor a deadhead lazy SOB who can't cut it in the real world or a retiree from another government job wtill wanting to suck at the government teat."
In deference to the rules of this forum I will not post what I truly think of you.
I am not a deadhead lazy SOB who can't cut it in the real world. I am a degreed professional who left the "real world" when his job moved 1,100 miles away. I love Alexandria and was glad to have the opportunity to continue my profession here locally. Yes the pay sucks but I still have opprotunity for advancement plus I can help raise my children. Somthings just can't be priced!
What is orange and sleeps 4 comfortably?
"How many times in the last year has he been called out?"
Too many to count and as late as this morning you jerk!
and he responds to these call outs in his car? What city service is in that bad of shape?
Truck in this case.
OK truck, what department does he work for that requires so many call outs?
I never realized that city facilities are in uch piss poor shape employees have to be constantly called out. Seems like they would rotate the call out responsibility.
Call out responsiblities are rotated out, but sometimes more employees are required. Callouts are done everywhere, ask Cleco, ask TransLa, ask Cox, even Coke has a call out. Next time you need city services, just wait till monday. I am sure everything will be fine.
Your typical of the intelligence level of the average city employee and family. I feel somewhat ashamed to remind you the topic of the conversation was folks taking "CARS" home. Stay with the conversation!!!!!!!!
Now I wonder how many drivers of city "CARS" are called out on a recurring basis. Why I'll bet Joe Despino gets called out every other ight for a purchasing emergency.
These last posts show the problems with Alexandria. Many folks are hard working and have no problem putting in 40 hours. In the last 50 yrs we have seen people with pull get the cush jobs with out ability, dedication, or competence. This only hurts the taxpayer and those who got their job because they were competent, qualified and basically did their job every day diligently. There is no conflict between the many good employees of the city and the taxpayers who are upset at their dollars being wasted by so many in the city gov't. But you guys who are upset with us taxpayers, should become whistleblowers and help to oust the bad eggs that have been there for years in administrations past. A new broom sweeps clean, but the old broom knows where the dirt is. Give us the real facts and you will do better and maybe the bad eggs will get fired. A new administration is coming in and you can make a change now. Make it happen!
City Cars!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's talk city cop cars that are parked all over the city in places they shouldn't be..... The liquor store in Pineville on 28 always has the unmarked cars going in and out... And I'm talking after they come out with alcohol... there's one that lives over at Calvary Church.... Not on the road patroling!!! there's at many other locations throughout the city doing nothing but being used to shuttle kids around....
Will we ever know the identity of the moronic, stubborn ass, ideological fool or fools that ordered Delores not to switch her party registration back in January. Therein lies the real culprit responsible for the massive loss approaching on Tuesday.
If Delores would have become a democrat she would not be a lying, coniving, two faced, disloyal incompetent, ignorant, stupid, immoral bitch? Wow!
Police cars! Now there's a sore subject. Even other City employees complain about those abuses to no avail. For some reason they are protected to no end.
Anon 9:56. The moronic, stuborn ass, ideologic fool that ordered Delores not to switch from Rep. to Dem. changed the course of the world. Why did Delores acquiesce to this Darth Vader's command. I need to know who this sumbitch is. Maybe he should be mayor as you say he is the real culprit. Folks, have you heard crazier shit or does this fucker take the cake. I luv ya baby, but you are one goofy fucker.
Where is Scarlet and Carolyn? I have not heard them admit the obvious yet. It will be good for their soul to prove they are intellectually honest and moral. Come on an admit it, you were deceived. There is nothing wrong with being fooled, if you learn from it and admit your mistake. Come on. We want you to continue in our discussions. None of us realized the extent Delores would go to win a political position. You are the victims and can't be held to blame . Come back and partici[pate again. We miss you!
Scarlett?????????? Where are you ? Could you please give us one of those pep talks and tell us again what a great person Delores Brewer is. Ive not seen you saying that in some time...and I miss it.
I could give a shit about a city car or car allowance! Enough!!!!!! Talk about DB's mole or something, but enough about the damn cars!
BTW, I think Roy wins 70% to 30%.
Anon 10:18,
It is you, my good friend, who is misguided for you missed the point. Do you think Jaques would have run if another white democrat had been in the race?
Roy wins 68%/32%. Book it!
Actually, the bigger problem is that Brewer knew she could not win after the primary. Yet, she pursued a course of "slash and burn" politics which has now caused great, perhaps irreparable, rifts between neighbors and friends. Alexandria started 2006 somewhat divided, it will end it 2006 hopelessly divided.
I think the most misuse of city vehicles comes, not from the workers who respond in emergencies, but from the higher ups who do not. Also i see no logical justification for allowing and off duty and out of uniform policeman to go to a social function or to Walmart, as I have personally obeserevd, with his family in that car. Explain that one so that it makes some sense.
With Debra Randolph's admissions in the paper today, Delores and her co-conspirators should seriously consider the penalty for mail fraud. This is beyond a joke or bad manners. Delores, can you say "federal pen"?
They should not be allowing their family to ride in their car or truck. Get their car number and report them, you idiot. no one is allowing it, but those who see it and say nothing. Or do you think the mayor can follow everyone around to make sure yhey are following the rules?
It is your tax dollars.
Maybe all those folks with city cars can be made to start riding the city bus. and if they need to go somewhere during the day, they can take a bus. plus, they can continue night bus service for those "accounting" emergencies.
And children can be allowed to ride for a small fee.
Get their car number and report them, you idiot.
Speaking of idiots you idiotically assumed I knew that the police did not allow such use. Besides this mental giant, does anyone know what the official police policy is on personal use of vehicles? I have seen such personal use under at least the last 2 chiefs.
GET REAL! If Brewer had switched to Democrat to run for mayor, the Democrats would have gone through the motions of vetting her and then would have told her to sit down and shut up. This town is not ready to elect a woman as mayor, even if it’s someone as brilliant and talented as Beth Foote… who wouldn’t want the headaches and the pay cut.
IMHO, if Brewer couldn’t run and control her own campaign, she sure as hell couldn’t have run the city and controlled the city council.
Why are we still talking about Delores Brewer. As it turns out, she was everything we feared in John Sams and Joe Fuller, either of whom would have been a better candidate and mayor.
Brewer lacks fundemental character and integrity. Her responsibilities at the city were so limited that her "lacks" never became an issue. When given some power and authority, her limitations became obvious to everyone including Ned.
Through this campaign, she has managed to elevate herself to legendary status. People will speak of her when they talk about dishonesty, disloyalty, and blind selfish ambition.
nice analysis!!
It looks like the TT put the final dagger in DB's campaign.I have never seen them so strong for one candidate. Maybe they are trying to make amends for their previous endorsements that turned out to be losers.
Let's take bets or at least get a line on the odds - Who'll show up at the Roy victory party on Tuesday to congratulate the new Mayor:
Mayor Ned
Councilman Myron
Attorney Bridget
Pizza delivery girl Delores
Packing it in Alban
i plan to put on a long face and go to delores the delighful's party. can't wait to be a fly on the wall for that wake.
btw, where is delores' party tuesday night? the phone booth at the bus station?
The Brewer party will be full of accusations and recriminations and I-told-U-so's and blame casting and back-peddleing. I doubt most of the real distructive forces in her campaign will show because they drove her based on their greed and they will be busy packing money and humility over to the Roy party. If you go down Jackson St. you will note that her parking lot has plenty vacancies now. One dozen donuts from Shipley's can last the crone crew all morning.
Delores has not only made herself impossible to like, she has made herself impossible to forgive.
Biff,
I'm with you, DB's is the place to be...can't wait to see her humble (LOL) concession speech...but I'm going in disguise...I'll be the one with the snout!
Chris Roy Sr. has had Albin's number for many years. That will be the sweetest part of the whole power shift. I suspect that Myron will try to hang on to Albin but Roy won't buy into that. Roy will understand the importance of an honest loyal city attorney and staff. Big change. Plus, I suspect that Roy recognizes that he owes Provosty a good kick in the ass. Bridget, on the other hand, may have taken so much heat in this election that Roy feels some kindred spirit with her. I wonder if Albin will hire Kelvin or Kelvin and Mrs. LLC will be getting some huge consulting contract to repay him for years of fucking his client on behalf of the council. Oh well.
In all my years as a Town Talk reader, I have never heard such a well-reasoned objective fair endorsement of a candidate. They tell us not just why Roy is good but why Brewer is bad. They are candid enough to focus on her fundemental dishonesty and Roy's vision and passion for the future. We deserve a mayor like Roy.
Roy proposes a competent utility director, what an idea!
Roy's first obstacle will be asserting himself on the issue of city attorney and staff. The council may resist his efforts to replace their whores with his personal choice for his closest advisors. Bridget says they will close down the city and not pass anything that the mayor wants if he decides to get rid of her and Kelvin. I doublt that Bridget engenders that high level of loyalty but it could be an interesting problem. Roy can compromise on a lot of things but not his initial appointments of key positions.
As far as current employees, nobody is irreplaceable including Crutchfield or Lawson. If Roy blinks on these initial appointments he will set the tone for the rest of his terms and it is hard to comeback from an initial retreat.
why does bridget think she calls the shots at the city? it's real easy for her to say 'they' will close the city down, but she's not got to face the voters. she loves to mouth off, but this is over the top. even the minority majority on the council is not stupid enough to make such idle threats and give mayor roy the opportunity to call their hands and expose them for the greed sucking pigs they are.
Bridget has been a lot of things but "wrong" ain't been one of 'em. Better grab your ass, you might be going to a rodeo.
Roy’s appointments will be interesting. If duplicitous Kelvin stays, Roy had better watch his back. And Bridgett isn’t going anywhere, as long as Myron is around. I suspect it’ll be same ol’, same ol’, only the face in the mayor’s office will have changed. Yippee.
kelvin and bridgette are history. if roy has to, he will surgically remove them from the city teat.
Ya think, Biff? I sure as hell don’t. Even if it looks as if K and B have been “surgically removed,” they won’t be. What are a few degrees of separation? Pfft.
word is, Kelvin is leaving (voluntarily)because he is 'tired of being caught in the middle' - LOL - that's exactly why bridget and myron put him there - I wonder if they really think nobody sees what they did and why? their greed makes them believe they are invisible, but it's really more like transparent!
Am I mistaken or did the Randolph admin. start turning to shit when they got rid of Nunnally. Nunally ruffled some feathers by declaring that Marshall, a felon, was not eligble for office and Myron, on the board of SU, was dual office holding.
Seems like after they got rid of the trouble-making sumbich, things started to unravel. I think Albin's debut followed that.
go saints!
If Nunnally was so smart, why didn't he discover Marshall couldn't run with a felony conviction before he was elected in the first place. As I recall that only became an issue in his re-election. Get real people. Nunnally didn't ruffle anything. He was one of the reasons the Council went and got their own attorney. They wanted to make sure things were done proper.
Kelvin has stated he is waiting to return to private practice and is looking forward to it. From what I understand the Council has been meeting with Jacques and offering advice and support. How long the honeymoon lasts will be anyone's guess.
There are people who need to be replaced from a department head's position - starting with Planning. No one seems to understand that if the Planning department doesn't function everyone loses. Why???? Builders can't get releases on houses for people to move into them. Builders and businesses can't get their doors opened. How are we supposed to "grow" this city if Planning can't get their act together. Face it Cecil never came out of retirement - he's been there drawing a paycheck and we can thank Delores Brewer and Ken Juneau for that. Cecil's contract ends in December, if not sooner. Maybe the head of that department can get that mess straightened out.
Planning has to work with Community Developement and the Utility Department. Without the proper interface, we get the mish-mash growth we've been experiencing and have huge holes in our infrastructure. It also means, like the letter stated today, certain areas of town become neglected.
Does anyone know there is a National Vacant Property program and the City doesn't participate? Through this program properties which are abandoned or adjudicated to the City can receive federal funding for revitalization - acutally be put back into commerce! What a concept! Why don't we participate??? Because it's NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.
There are some staff people serving as department heads who simply will not progress with the times. The new mayor has to look at this also.
Forget the cars,I heard CENLA GOPAC is under investigation by the state ethics board. Delores Brewer is really bringing bad luck to the republicans. Okay, this is not her fault. Several disgruntled members are not renewing their membership. Has anyone heard anything? One of the national elected republican official is not happy with the leadership of the CENLA GOPAC.
Puhlease...Nunnally barely worked the last few years he was there. Adminstration didn't start going to shit once he was out. That's silly. You are either Nunnally himself or a close family member who is purposely misspelling the name to cover your identity.
Delores is so angry that she's trying to take everyone she can down with her. It's all about revenge now. The problem is, life must go on after Nov. 7. What goes around comes around.
Delores looks angry in every ad and every appearance now. Plus, she looks ill. People don't respond well to an angry candidate. Never have, never will.
I can't wait to taste the roasted pig at Roy's victory party on Tues.
Scarlett???,,,,why nothing to add?
500!!
Please don't be to hard on Scarlett. She thought she was getting into a quasi social organization like a Mardi Gras crew, except you all wore the same T shirts and got to ask for votes. I'm sure it never occurred to her that Delores would have such bad wardrobe judgment and complicate that faix pas with being a rabid lunitic that would try to infect anyone who would let her. In short, the Crew of Delores really quit being fun on Sept. 30th.
Carolyn, bless her heart, had some thoughts but really doesn't remember what they were. She really thinks that Delores is running for Mayor of Alemet.
I have said it before and I will say it again, Roy 70%, DB 30%! See ya Tuesday night. Save me some ribs. Five apples!
Look, I would respect them both a lot more if they would just come back and admit that they were wrong and mean about it.
The only character trait you can compliment carolyn is standing by her man. As far as a rebellion by the council and others hell they are already trying to figure out how to deal with Roy. These folks have no integtity or honor. They got to do it their way during Ned's period of uselessness and now when someone understand the authority vested in the office of mayor is elected they gonna suck ass.
So does Delores go back to work at the city on wednesday?
You are too generous. I predict 80/20.
Joe Ray, nobody is forced to follow any party line. If people are willing to totally forgo their own personal integrity in order to support a candidate that they know is dishonest and ruthless and would be a distructive force in the city's political process, then they are sellouts, not victims. That's a uniquely republican philosophy and the one embraced by Brewer to excuse her dishonesty. It's OK to do the wrong thing for the right reason??????
I am a Republican, and have voted for Roy both times (I early voted). I owe no party allegiences which would cause me to vote for a liar.
She will try - she has 17 years invested. She has no honor just greed. It appears she is not protected by civil service. Roy needs to to fire the bitch.
He should never forget her loyalty to Ned and OINK OINK. The bitch and family servie one master - money.
Could you trust her as an employee and department head?
Was out of town and just listened to the Friday KSYL Radio program on the website--
Amazing--Delores said she wanted to get in there (at city hall) and find out how the departments work so she can figure out how to save money for the city! Where the hell was she for 17 years? Oh, yea at the city---guess that wasn't enough time to figure out how the departments work. What an air head!
Delores would have no more value to the new administration than she did to the old one but one can imagine how Roy might feel a quick sympathy pain for her loss but he needs to remember his obligation to us voters and he needs to remember Brewer's craven disloyalty and her history of punishing those who show her and her family kindness.
So WHO gave Delores Brewer money SINCE the first primary. THAT is what I would like to know. This second primary has been nothing if not dirty and low. Those who gave her money can not claim to be surprised at what they were paying for. I would like to know who they are. Is there a way to list them on here?
I think Delores will try to go back for the one month of transition after the election. Her goal will be to get Ned to fire her so she can sue him and the city and try to get a settlement.
If Ned takes her back, he should put her in an office at one of the other city facilities rather than city hall and keep her away from everything. Cause she surely isn't going to be able to be involved in the transition nor can she be involved directly with the current mayor anymore. Then, she can plan her exit date as inaguration day.
sympathy falls between shit and syphills in the dictionary. The bitch backstabed Ned, lied like hell, made a pledge and violated it and on and on and on. You want this trash as an employee?
Her position is appointive. Ned needs to send her to an Office at the City Complex, city water wells or city whatever that is the furthest from city hall. Roy then should not appoint her. Life is rough.
I know, let her be the city's laison with GAEDA.
Why the hell should Ned take her ass back? She is a lying, two faced, disloyal, airheaded windbag. So what if she sues the city? Albin won't be there to advise the mayor to take the easy way out and settle. She serves at the pleasure of the mayor--and he ain't pleased. I say she gets demoted to secretary and sent to the city barn to work.
However never lose sight of the fact that asshole governmental employees who deserve firing are always protected and turn up somewheres. The trade school is full of Parish employees that "resigned" rather then being investigated.
Oh, my goodness. The caller on the KSYL radio show that asked Roy whether he would return all of the money from any potential CLECO settlement with the city to the ratepayers was MORGAN BREWER. I recognized his voice. How silly. Guess the other callers who were obviously supporters of Brewer were the blue hairs from down at the HQ taking a break from stuffing their faces with doughnuts.
I agree. Ned should not allow her back into the building. Change the locks NOW. Add security to prohibit her from entering. If any of her personal items are still in city hall--they should be packed up and delivered to her.
Delores is useing her son in her pathetic campaigning and he doesn't realize he is being used. Folks with morals and character would not use their children in a negative campaign. However, never lose sight of the fact that Delores and husband used the pain and suffering of Morgan to collect from the Insurance company for lose of consortium. We speaking of a 29 year old mature adult. Just another example of how low the Brewers will sink for the almight dollar.
She is so interested in the Martin's desire for bus service to their enterprises let her be a bus rider survey taker. She could help decide if night service should be continued.
Anybody ever wonder that if the Martin's paid a decent wage their employees might be able to afford their own vehicle?
I thought I recognized Kim Knight's voice on one of the Roy bashing calls. I must grudgingly forgo any respect that I previously had for her. She is a woman who should know better.
I think Cynthia Jordan at the TT is a Brewerista. She obviously buys into the Delores cop out explanation for her "mis-speak" to the city council. Today's editorial inferred that Delores lied about the meeting with the Baton Rouge lawyers in the CLECO case because the current mayor didn't want his "minions" to know where he was. That is bullshit! The mayor went on record and issued a statement the day after that city council meeting to say that he did indeed pre-plan the meeting and that he absolutely DID NOT ask Mrs. Brewer to lie. Cynthia Jordan must be drinking some of the Brewer campaign kool-aid that is served at the HQ. Problem is, she doesn't work at the HQ--she's supposed to be a journalist at the newspaper. What a piss poor excuse for an editorial writer.
Albin didn't advise the mayor to take the easy way out and settle in the amigos' case...Ned wanted out before depositions because his disabilities and incompetence in office would have been exposed...Albin didn't want dpositions either because he would have been exposed for fabricating BS to get Ned to fire the three...it wasn't about an easy way out it was all about CYA!
Well, the editorial did re-enforce it's endorsement of Mr. Roy. That was a good thing. But, they could have stopped with that rather than taking a cheap shot at the current administration.
I agree that the Roy endorsement was good. Glad that was restated.
The Town Talk demonstrated the abilities of staff and staff professionalism last Thursday or Friday (I orget which) with the sports headlines: "Wascomen (I think) hopeful for a """birth"""
Wonder what sex the school is hopeful for - male or female? Who is pregnant?
You dumb shits that call yourself newspaper people the word is BERTH. Stop depending on spell check and use your intelligence - Oh that explains it.

That's bullshit and you know it. Alban wanted to settle cause he knew he couldn't win the case and he wanted to take the easy way out.
If everyone else has summed up this election as well as the people on this blog, I would expect a showing of even below 30% for Brewer. I have never seen such a collapse in a second primary before or a family fall so far from grace, which in their case they never deserved. One of the few times in La. politics justice was served. Not just for the candidate but for her keepers and supporters who were just grubbing for monetary handouts. The whole Brewer campaign was outed and I think this group here had a lot to do with it. Good job everyone!
Joe Dispino does, in fact, have a city vehicle. Not a Crown Vic though. Mr. Dispino tools around in a FULLY LOADED Eddie Bauer Expedition. Drives it to and from his pineville abode, AND as a matter of fact-took a little vacation to Texas in it (golfing) from what I understand. It would be o surprise to a lot of folks that , after very little digging, enough would be turned up on Joe Dispino to quite possibly put him in jail. He is in bed so deep with Motorola he probably doesn't recognize his own wife.
Not to lessen Despino's involvement with Motorola but every government entity is in bed with Motorola none so in-depth as 911.
Joe Despino and whats her name Gremillion are well versed in documenting how Motorola out performs anything and everything.
Only good thing what's her name Gremillion at 911 ever worth a shit is to get rid of Bill Godron. Bill was part of the Jack Dewitt, William Earl , Tommie Hollingsworth and friends circle. Took a sexual harrassement suit to beat his Maspnic connections.
Bet Despino's Eddie Bauer is being carried as assigned to another agency.
I bet that Despino was never authorized to have a car. I think he just grabbed a set of keys during the Snyder administration and nobody ever questioned it.
Purchasing agents are in particularly good positions for graft and kickbacks. He donated money to some of the council candidates. Does that break any civil service rules?
The question should be why does a purchasing agent haveor need a city car? The answer is a non-taxable perk. Let me see he responds to emergency purchase call outs at night and on the weekends. He visits cit offices located throughtout the city. No just another trough feeder.
He is able to respond in a single bound when his services are needed in emergency situations. Why does it sem more and more Alexandria city owned vehicles are being domicled in Pineville and other municipalities?
The Despino is just the kind or waste and abuse that can be easily and quickly corrected. I bet that a real close look at the purchasing operation will show some interesting transactions.
The new broom needs to clean up that mess in the first week.

Albin did not represent the city in the amigos'case - he conflicted himself out of the case, yet stayed involved - typical ethical Albin. Charlie Weems was the attorney representing the city.
Once again the facts have escaped the geniuses amongst us:
1) Joe Despino lives in Alex not P'vlle.
2) He drive an Explorer not an Expdition, not an Eddie Bauer either.
3) Have any of you ever used Motorola radios? Did you know that EF Johnson makes the only comparable unit? Did you know the P'vlle bought 100 of them and is planning on pitching them in the Red River because they are @#$%?
4) Did you know that the Motorolas are on state contract? Nobody's in bed with anybody.
5) I hope you loons have Joe investigated it will be a collosal waste of resources to find out he took a paper clip home in 1987.
Sunday, 7:59:25 p.m. So what, are you too stupid to go to the state site and look it up. The brightness of some of these Roy supporters amazes me.
The three amigos case was settled because once the subdivision development deal they were trying to pull off was stopped (they never got to pull off having the city pay the 100% of the infrastructure because they got caught)--things were not as clear regarding dismissal. Ned followed the advice of Weems and Provosty who handled the details of the case. They advised him to settle--and not to disclose why they were let go--it's as simple as that. The lawyers advised going to the Atty. General and the Legislative Auditor with what was discovered. The mayor did that. The lawyers thought it best to have them look into it and disclose any wrongdoing if it occurred, rather than having the mayor comment. This was the way it went down.
