In reading today's issue of the Town Talk, I was rather taken a back to find that this blog has attracted so much attention. Although I appreciate Mr. White's request of posting authors using their real names, he seems to not understand that it defeats the purpose of the blog. Would Mr. White stand and deliver if he had a problem with his neighbor? (use a scenario that fits here folks). I think not ... it would cause undue harm to relationship that needs to work. Hence the anonymity postings on this blog. Mr. White I applaud your interest and your intent; however, I do not think that it will work in all cases.
Now Mr. White to stir the pot a little. IF the Town Talk and KALB actually did a little investigative reporting this blog would be a moot point now would it not? In they're selective reporting, they have sewn the seed that created Cenla Antics. So Mr. White, in finding the answers to the many questions being asked by the public, would not the "real" media use unidentified sources?
In closing, I am aware that I need to spend some time on archiving old postings. I hope to have this done within the next week or two. I would also like to address a statement made on this blog a few postings back. I have never deleted any postings on this blog. In my opinion to do so would again, take away from the purpose that created this blog.

Try the FBI. Alexandria Housing Authority uses HUD federal money. Guess what . A complaint was filed on Friday. I think things begin to happen now, finally.

In todays town talk article, Coutee and Roy say Tommy Cicardo lost retirement records! AMAZING
Chief Coutee is suing the city while Cicardo has been listening to a frivolous lawsuit against the himself and other police officers.
Why didn't the town talk call Cicardo for a fair and balanced article. 1) If Chief Coutee knew his job, he would know the retirement system keeps those records. 2)Coutee is too busy with his nose up CFS and others asses. And showing grade school children how to handle guns, and weed and seed. 3) It is very easy to appear to be the great one when you don't do your job. It is well known the police dept runs it self.

The mayor is not a figurehead and has much power at his disposal to correct wrong doing in our city government (ie. calling for a legislative audit is one) . It is going to take a person with iron will and nerves of steel to ferret out and address the corruption that is rampant in our little town. Isn't it odd that the "Ethics Board" does not see a problem with the housing authority since there is enough separation from the city, but Mr Fowler did not have enough seperation from Cleco in his personal printing business. It makes my head hurt to know which lie to believe.
I have two comments and one question on this thread. how in the world can they make an ethics determination, when kelvin sanders "can't find the housing athority charter". how can you determine "how separated from the city" the authority actually is with out the charter? finally, can someone fill me in on who CFS is? thanks.

I find several things interesting.1) that there has been NO City of Pineville car parked at Aces ballpark since the question of Dupree buring City gas to go to his other job was mentioned on here and 2) Nathan Martin who reads these things daily did not respond to the question posted to him about possible improper use of City property . Selective good government. Its almost worst than the corruption we have over here. At least our dishonest politicians dont pretend to be something they are not.

if the photo is on your pc already then simply attach it to an email - it would be helpful if in the body of the email you write an explanation about the picture.
if you are concerned about not wanting us to know your email address - you can always go to a free email such as yahoo, hotmail etc and open one with a fake name etc. if you are worried about emailing it from your home pc then after you make up your email then save the email to drafts and go to the library etc and sign into that email account and send it from there.

Auditor's office looks into Alexandria procedures

Investigators with the state Legislative Auditor's Office on Thursday started looking into Alexandria cost-share agreements with developers.
Later, they'll look into the Alexandria Housing Authority, said Daryl Purpera, assistant legislative auditor and director of the agency's Performance Audit Division.
"Our intention is to get to the Housing Authority," he said. Purpera did not give a date in which investigators would start looking at the Housing Authority.
In October, Mayor Ned Randolph wrote to the auditor's office seeking an opinion on Alexandria's years-long practice of not requiring a bid when city officials want a developer to increase the size of drainage pipes or other infrastructure that is planned by the developer.
In the old practice, the city paid the difference on the increase in the pipes without public bid.
Randolph in October also asked for an opinion from the Attorney General's Office on the bid procedures. The city never received that opinion.
In the October letter, Randolph outlined the practice of asking a developer to "incorporate additional improvements" when the city anticipates future growth.
After gathering information on city bid practices, the same two investigators with the auditor's office will start looking at Housing Authority records, Purpera said.
First will be a preliminary investigation to determine if a broader, more detailed examination is warranted, Purpera said.
The investigation was spurred by Randolph, who asked the Legislative Auditor's Office to look at the Housing Authority after he talked to former board members Henry "Hank" Lazarone and George Williams.
Both men's signatures were on a document that criticizes Executive Director Wanda Davis' management of the Housing Authority, which provides homes for some of Alexandria's poor.
Meanwhile, The Town Talk on Wednesday requested additional records from Davis and the Housing Authority. Efforts to contact Davis on Wednesday and Thursday on the status of the two requests were unsuccessful.

A friend of mine close to Myron says that he is working on bringing a famous restaurant franchise to town. Could this be the reason the company "EAT" was set up?

Why isn't the TT or KALB reporting these stories? Why is the good ol' boy network allowed to thrive? Black or white, it doesn't matter.
For many of us, what is most disappointing about Myron is that we had initially thought he was different than the others. He was independently wealthy, professional, young, and driven. We thought he'd be different than everyone else, and I think that is one of the main reasons he was able to convince black and white voters.
But once he got into a position of power and importance, he began seeing business opportunities due to his connections, opportunities that were unknown to the commmunity at large. Instead of really serving the community, Myron, in the same spirit of the cronies before him and the cronies around him, exploited this knowledge for personal gain.
And this is no different than what Mrs. Brewer attempted to do.

While some of the items thrown out as dirty dealings may have been a little off base, you will find the parties in the news were being discusssed months ago by those that were purported to be idiots and blowhards. You will also notice the cover that our local media provides to obfuscate and bury the truth. I am an older guy that has seen it all before and find it rather amusing that citizens fall for the same old dog and pony show time and time again. I say keep on talking & blogging cuz the the truth will emerge eventually and maybe enough people will care to go to the polls & vote. senator mcpherson voted "yea" on HB685 the ethanol bill which some are saying will drive up gasoline prices and which the governor is supposedly having second thoughts about signing it into law.
a check of the sec'y of state corporate database shows that senator mcpherson together with james salley and walter pearson are partners in a company called "rapides ethanol partners" could this be a possible conflict of interest?

Scarlett, please note that GAEDA can levy taxes and fees without voter approval as well being independant on expenditures. I cannot believe that no one has challenged its very existence as special legislation was required to bring it to life and it is insulated from the voters.

OK inquiring minds...here is the deal with the Jakes Building and Harold Chambers. The Jakes site along with the rest of the Power Center is owned by a group called 4 MALI. One of the partners is one Wayne Vollman. Wayne's sister is married to Harold Chambers. Vollman along with Joey Vercher are also the developers of Westpoint Subdivision. Now Westpoint got some really nice subsidies from the the City for utilities and roads as a result of some cost share agreements negotiated by Harold Chambers, Sonny Craig, and Darrell Williamson. That is what the auditors are in town looking at along with the AHA Contracts. This town is way to small!

The Louisiana Board of Ethics, at its April 13, 2006 meeting, considered your request for an advisory opinion as to the propriety of certain entities entering into transactions with your client, the Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority (GAEDA).
Section 1113B of the Code of Governmental Ethics prohibits an appointed member of a board or commission, member of his immediate family, or a legal entity in which they have a substantial economic interest, from entering into or being in any way interested in a contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision, jurisdiction of that board or commission. Also, Section 1112B(3) of the Code prohibits a public servant from participating in a transaction in which a person, of which he is an officer, director, trustee, partner, or employee, has a substantial economic interest. Recusal does not cure a potential violation of Section 1112 for an appointed member of a board or commission - resignation or divesture of interest in the person prior to participation is the only remedy.
With respect to each of the issues below, the Board, without the participation of Board Member Johnson, concluded and instructed me to inform you of the following:
1. May the St. Frances Cabrini Foundation of Alexandria, which is wholly-owned by Christus Health Central of Louisiana seek and receive funding from GAEDA? Stephen F. Wright, the president of both the foundation and Christus, is an appointed member of GAEDA. Section 1113B of the Code prohibits the foundation from seeking funding from GAEDA while Mr. Wright serves as an appointed member of GAEDA.
2. May the Magnolia State Peace Officers Association receive funding from GAEDA? Charles F. Smith is the president of the non-profit corporation and an elected member of the Alexandria City Council, the appointing authority fo GAEDA. Section 1111C(2)(d) of the Code prohibits Mr. Smith from receiving a thing of economic value for services rendered to or for a person that has or is seeking to have a contractual, business or financial relationship with his agency, which is the Alexandria City Council. Since the GAEDA was created by the Alexandria City Council, it is a part of Mr. Smith’s agency; therefore, Mr. Smith is prohibited from receiving compensation for services provided to the Magnolia State Peace Officers Association, if the association seeks funding from GAEDA.
3. May GAEDA enter into a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce to provide economic development services to GAEDA? Martin W. Johnson is on the executive board of the chamber and an appointed member of GAEDA. Mr. Johnson is not paid for his service on the Chamber's board. Section 1123(1) of the Code provides an exception to the Code to permit a public servant’s participation in the affairs of a civic organization, when no compensation is received. Section 1123(1) of the Code provides an exception to permit the foundation to enter into the contract with GAEDA, since Mr. Johnson receives no compensation for his service on the chamber's board.

You stated that you were employed as the City Engineer for the City of Alexandria for the past 25 years and that you resigned from your position in February 2006. You are now employed as an engineer with TRC Engineers, Inc. a company which holds many of the engineering contracts with the City of Alexandria. You state that you participated in the engineering agreements in connection with the street and drainage projects under construction but that you did not participate in the engineering agreements in connection with the water well and utility improvement projects. You further state that the street and drainage projects are under the supervision and jurisdiction of your former agency, the Engineering Department of the Department of Public Works, and that the water well and utility improvement projects are under the supervision and jurisdiction of the Utilities Division of the City of Alexandria.
The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you that you would prohibited from assisting TRC in transactions involving the City of Alexandria in which your former agency participated. Based on the information you provided, you were an agency head, therefore, the applicable provision is Section 1121A of the Code. Section 1121A prohibits a former agency head, for a period of two years following the termination of his public service as the head of such agency from assisting another person, for compensation, in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction, involving that agency or from rendering any service on a contractual basis to or for such agency. Therefore, since your former agency did not participate in the engineering agreements in connection with the water well and utility improvement projects, you are not prohibited from assisting persons in transactions involving those projects. However, you are prohibited, for a period of two years, from assisting your employer in connection with the street and drainage projects which are transactions involving your former agency.

The Board of Ethics, at its April 13, 2006, meeting, considered your request for an advisory opinion concerning the propriety of your company Fowlco Printing providing compensated services to businesses which may have a contractual relationship with the City of Alexandria while you serve as a member of the Alexandria City Council.
With respect to each specific question, the Board concluded and instructed me to inform you of the following:
1. Is Fowlco prohibited by the Code of Governmental Ethics from providing compensated services to businesses that are on the City of Alexandria’s list of approved vendors.
A. Section 1111C(2)(d) of the Code prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value from a person who have or who is seeking to have a contractual or other business or financial relationship with the public servant’s agency. Businesses included on the City’s approved vendor list either have or are seeking to have a contractual relationship with the City, therefore, Fowlco would be prohibited from providing services to the businesses on the City’s list of approved vendors.
2. Is Fowlco prohibited by the Code of Governmental Ethics from providing compensated services to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office when the City of Alexandria has a contract with the Sheriff’s Office to provide beds.
A. Generally, Section 1111C(2)(d) of the Code prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value from a person who have or who is seeking to have a contractual or other business or financial relationship with the public servant’s agency. A person is defined in Section 1102(16) as an individual or legal entity other than a governmental entity, or an agency thereof. The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office is not a person under the Code, therefore, Fowlco would not be prohibited from providing compensated services to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.
3. Is Fowlco prohibited by the Code of Governmental Ethics from providing compensated services to businesses that receive their utilities from the City of Alexandria.
A. The relationship between a business and a municipality for the provision of utilities, including electricity, gas, water, sewage and garbage, is not the type of “contractual or other business or financial relationship” contemplated by the Code. Therefore, Fowlco would not be prohibited from providing compensated services to businesses that receive their utilities from the City of Alexandria.

Spino you err in your conclusion - it is all a racial issue. The Black leaders of Alexandria will not be happy until a Black (light or dark skinned) is the head of a department or is the vendor to the city. Other then Fowler, who has had his own sweet deal going, and Silvers, who was appointed despite the majority wishes of the citizens of his District so he must be pro towards the directions of the Blacks., everything being discussed indicates probable Black corruption and collusion.
Isn't it funny how the same players keep appearing - Brigite, Smith Lawson Sanders and their relatives or relatives of relatives. The annointed Blacks are not going to be happy until Alexandria is a Chocalite City. Live long enough and you will see it.

Mum was the word today at City Hall. Neither city attorney Kelvin Sanders or Chief of Staff Delores Brewer would talk to me today on camera.
For those of you who aren't aware, both have been mentioned in connection with a lucrative contract with the Alexandria Housing Authority. Sander's wife got the contract, but Brewer also made a bid on it.
The state Legislator Auditor's office tells us they received a complaint from the mayors office about improper procedures at the Alexandria Housing Authority, however auditor's neither confirm or deny they're conducting an investigation.
Some of the complaints about the Housing Authority are against their accounting practices like keeping up with bank accounts, housing funds, and how the authority is basically handling their money.
Two board members on the Housing Authority Board quit and we're told one more member will be leaving for health reasons.
Housing Authority Executive Director Wanda Davis tells us she knows nothing about an audit being conducted on them.
Wait a minute STOP the presses.!!!!!!!! Only a few weeks ago RICH "this is my first job" DUPREE was beating his chest and taking credit for he and that other guy ..oh yea...Fields GETTING for the City of Pineville (incidentally it wasnt even in the city limits) a NEW Convention Center and Hotel. Well, the Newsaper reported today that the hotel deal fell through. MIGHT we now Give BLAME to Mayors Dupree and Fields with as much fanfare as they took the Credit?
Perhaps the hotel deal fell through while Mayor Dupree was talking silly at the Aces game instead of working his wizardry of economic development on the hotel magnets.
I wonder if these businesses appreciate Mr Rich "this is my first job" Dupree speaking for them as if he even has a clue? I bet if they wanted details of their businesses publicized that they might do it themselves. But thats the way its done in Pineville. Because its important that we give credit even when credit is not due and NEVER give blame. Only because Alexandria is so messed up does our Hooterville operation in North Rapides not get recognized as a joke

HA HA HA. They are right. On the news tonight Dupree just HAD to be on camera hanging the damn Clean City award on the wall like HE personally was resonsible. I happen to work for the City. It was Charlie Moore the Public Works Director if anyone who was responsible for this silly award. But Dupree does not want Charlie to get any credit. Its like grade school upstairs at City hall. I am glad that some of you on the outside can see what we deal with Every single day. A guy who really could not carry most of our boots and who has no experience at anything acting like he is responsible for everything that we do. We wish our real Mayor would wise up and do something about this guy.
Anyone see the nice pretty new lamps and street brick work soon to be vandalized downtown?? YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK?? Why is everytime the city council talks the Versailles blvd extention to hwy 28 west the great myron lawson has to bring up the sugarhouse road extention. It makes sound economic sense to extend Versailles to hwy 28 west. The land is all vacant and not in a crime or drug infested area of town. If the city develops this area it will bring tax revenue to WHOLE CITY. BUT it will not increase the property value of ML voters.
Myron is councilman at large, therefore the whole city is his constituency and Sugarhouse Road has been rescheduled several times on the capital outlay, so what that is saying to the residents affected is that they must be satisfied with being passed in line whenever rich folks want something. Samtown has had drainage projects pulled in favor of other projects after the drainage projects were scheduled. As I recall, Samtown-Woodside is not a tax free zone and the residents are not exempt from sales tax so it is not a free ride. I have to say that they have been neglected and they have been part of the city for many years more than the newer subdivisions on Highway 28 - but I forgot that fair is where they sell cotton candy.
I noticed Spinoj issued a challenge to refrain from namecalling and on her next posting called anon a bigoted racist! hummmmm! Incidentally racism is looking at everyone of a particular race as being identical. There are certain identifying features and those are what differentiates one race from another.However this does not preclude one from discussing political or criminal actions and identifying the race of that individual and still maintaining objectivity. I notice that on this site, many times when one has no rational response to a comment, that the first comment is "Racist".
If Myron is the Councileman at Large he has amply provided for his Black Constituents. Instead of roadway improvements they can walk and ride on the walking path surrounding the inner city, use the many new senior citizens cneters constructed in the quarters, etc, etc. A overall recent historical look at the new construction of all types that have been completed or ongoing in the quarters will reveal that our Black citizens are receiving numerous tax dollar funded projects.
As I always say the Blacks do not want equality they want superiority. If the available public funding was spent where needed instead of focusing on frivilous feel good projects for the quarters and taking care of moneyed white folks and their money making projects all of Alexandria would do well.
You cannot make up for the many many years of neglect in the predominently Black area of the City overnight. Certainly whitey enjoyed the gravy train and corruption for many many years at the expense of the Blacks. So in order to rectify history do we now do nothing for the non-moneyed white folks and do all for the Blacks?
It seems, though not yet proven, the Black politicians are not even interested in their bretheren but are only interested in lining the pockets of the inner circle - the Brigittes, The Sanders, the wives of the elected officials, etc, etc.
With all the political power (read majority vote) the Blacks have on the City Council you want me to believe the Black citizens cannot get services and new projects from the city. To that I say Bullshit. The City Council directs where moneys will be spent so if the Blacks are lacking it would seem to be the fault of the Black City Councilemen.
However, once again the Black refuses to accept personal responsibility and place the blame where it belongs but blames the Whites. It would seem with the majority vote the Blacks could do what they want to. Somehow Black politicians not taking care of the Blacks is once again due to white racism.
Last time I posted here I told you all that you were a collective bunch of cowards who bellyache a lot, but in the end, do nothing. Most of you whined about the media and how they were bought and paid for by the corrupt ones in Alexandria.
Well guess what folks, there is someone in Cenla with guts.

Another Alexandria Housing Authority board member resigns
A third member of the five-member Alexandria Housing Authority Board of Commissioners has resigned.
Morris "Pat" Doss in an e-mail notified Mayor Ned Randolph last week to “please remove my name from the Board of the Housing Authority” effective immediately.
The e-mail, dated June 3, does not give a reason for Doss’ resignation.
Doss’ departure marks the third resignation from the board in less than a month.
On May 11, George Williams resigned “due to circumstances beyond my control. Former board Chairman Henry “Hank” Lazarone resigned on May 31.
The housing authority is to be investigated by the state legislative auditor’s office over a host of financial and contractual issues.

Perhaps you are right, Les Prestridge's sexual advances and vivid descriptions of his "equipment" are common knowlege. He has engaged in this behavior since his National Guard years, and continues to berate the women at the Pineville Courthouse.
The news about this is that it is finally out in the open and someone, somewhere, will be forced to deal with this slimy character.
in a short piece on kalb.com about the les prestridge story babs zimmerman reports that judge terrell is taking legal advice on the matter from the law firm that prestridge's daughter works at then they fail to name the lawfirm or the daughter. so we are wondering does anyone know who the lawfirm is and the daughters name?
also one would have to wonder about a judge who reasons that since the daughter isnt a partner in the lawfirm she has no interest in the outcome of her fathers case since his job is on the line etc.

Pineville City Court Judge Phillip Terrell says he will have a decision Tuesday on the future employment of his long-time clerk of court.
Les Prestridge has been on administrative leave with pay for several weeks in the wake of complaints that he made sexual advances toward women in the court house.
Terrell acknowledged he is being guided by a law firm for which Prestridge's daughter works.
But, the judge said she is not a partner in the firm and has not had any connection with the case.
When Newschannel Five first reported on this story a couple of weeks ago, Terrell said something definitely will be done about the complaints, but he has not specified what that might be.
There are legal and medical issues involved, he said at the time.
The daughter's name is Leslie. The law firm that did the "investigation" for Judge Terrell is the Provosty Firm, as in Albin Provosty. Does that name sound familiar???

A little advice for the Judge to help him with his decision. Sexual Harrassment civil lawsuits filed under the provisions of federal law allow the victim, if successful in proving the case, recourse to the assets of not only Prestridge but the employeeing agency if it can be proven that the agency was aware of the situation and took no action to correct it.
Prestridge needs to cut a deal, reetire and get the hell out of Dodge. If the allegations are so(and he will hub hell disputing the testimony of that many) he stands to lose everything he has accumulated. The City Court needs to participate in resolving the issue for it is liable as well as, if the parent agencies are, the Police Jury and City of Pineville.
If Prestridge actions have been previously reported to the Judge and no action was taken (the action taken could have been an investigation resulting in a finding of no fact) I believe the City and Jury have problems. Folks gonna go for the deepest pockets.
The Judge didn't need legal advice to find this out all he needed to do is read easily obtainable Federal guidelines or ask that person within the organization(s)that would be responsible for Human Resources.
Anyone heard anything about the Pineville city prosecutor (Gary Hays) also being involved (as an offender)in these city court allegations???
Nothing about Hayes,but as I understand it, Prestridge's reputation for sexual harrasment was well known by Judge Terrell when Terrell hired him as Clerk of Court.
The three of them. Terrell, Prestridge, and Greg Aymond have been tight buddies for years. In fact Terrell and Aymond were law partners at one time.
They split up when the IRS busted them for not paying their taxes.

lol looks like they need a special prosecutor to sort out pineville city court. if these allegations are proven and they can show a lengthy pattern & that people knew about all this and did nothing and covered it up then they should be able to sue everyone involved regardless of who the technical employer is. they are all officers of the court and nothwithstanding that they are sworn to uphold the constitution and laws. people have to work and a condition of their employment shouldnt be to have some old perv forcing himself or herself on them. sure people meet and fall in love in the workplace too but thats different.

The Northdside Journal reported that the City of Pineville is
ivestigating charges of sexual harrassment by Pineville City Court
clerk, Les Prestrige. But I wonder why? Pineville is ordered by
law, along with the Police Jury, to supply the court with
facilities. The court, however, is a separate legal entity, with its
judge elected by not just Pineville, but by wards 9, 10 and 11. In a
recent court of appeal decision, Pineville fought for and was held
NOT to be the employer of the personnel in the City Court clerk's
office. What then does the City of Pineville have to do with sexual
harassment in the court's clerk office?
Well the answer is simple. Mayor Fields'lying, two-faced, radio
announcing, non-educated hatchet man, Rich Dupree, and his cronies,
are out to get Judge Terrell. You see, Judge Terrell, as a judge is
supposed to do, rules upon each case upon its own merits and does
not impose the maximum fine upon every single defendant. Pineville
City Hall, apparently, wants a judge they can control, in order to
operate the City Court, not for justice, but as a money making
operation for the City. Not liking that Judge Terrell serves the
people, not the City, officials from City Hall are openly seeking
candidates, that they feel they can better control, run against
Judge Terrell. It seems likely that City Hall encouraged the victims
of Prestrige sexual harrassment to file complaints with City Hall,
not Judge Terrell, their employer, as the law requires, simply as
ammunition to use against the independent Judge Terrell. Judge
Terell is doing his duty, as the employer, in conducting his own
investigation.
Another reason the City wrongfully put its nose into something
that is not its business, is because Les Prestrige is suing them for
injuries he allegedly sustained due to mold exposure in Pineville's
court building. I personally heard Mayor Fields curse like a sailor
over Prestrige informing employees in City Hall that their building
had the same mold problems. Dupree and Mayor Fields took no action
on the courthouse mold problems, until forced to do so with
threatened court action, despite sitting and doing nothing for
several months after receiving expert reports that the mold could
have harmful health consequences for their employees and citizens
who utilized the buildings.
If the allegations against Prestrige turn out to be true, the
laws against sexual harrassment should be applied to him. However,
those laws should be applied for their own reasons, and not the
political conspiracies concocted within Pineville City Hall.
So now you know the rest of the story.

The court's employees are required to sign a statement saying that they have read, and will abide by, the same policies and procudures of Pineville City Employees. They do this because they work in a building owned by the City and because the City handles their payroll. The City handles their payroll BECAUSE THE DAMN JUDGE ASKED THEM TO!!!! YOU IDIOT!
Any person with a tiny bit of legal knowlege will tell you that if a court employee complains to the personell director for the city, about violations of federal law taking place on city property, they MUST investigate the allegations. If they do not, the City could be held liable at some time in the future.

For anyone that has experience I would like to ask a question. I was told that in the last 5 years the City Prosecutor has not had but one trial and lost that one. IF that is true then maybe the Mayor should INVESTIGATE why that is.

Trial strategy against Gary Hays is to demand a trial. Judge will have to dismiss when Gary is absent from courtroom cleaning up from shitting down both legs.

What possible reason could there be to cause a person to not be able to leave a place for 10 years? Spino knows she will be here for 10 years, not possibly 10 years unless a chance for transfer comes along. 10 years would seem a long time for specializing in a medical discipline and if a person was going to spend this many years specializing I would not think Alexandria would be the place to find specialized medical training.
Only thing I can think of that cause me to know I was going to be some wheres for 10 years is being in jail.

Delores' biggest negative....lack of name recogniton. Dr. Sams' biggest negative...name recognition. Roosevelt's biggest positive...name recognition.
Here is my take: Delores has the most experience and understands how city government works...or doesn't work. That makes her a good or bad candidate depending upon who you ask.
Dr. Sams has some good ideas and is usually right in his thinking. Problem is, he will say anything that comes into his brain, and not always at the most appropriate time or in the most appropriate manner. Maybe thats what we need though...an outsider with nothing to lose.
Roosevelt is a really nice guy with good intentions. However, he isn't the smartest person on the block. I happen to think that running an outfit as big as the City of Alexandria requires a little intelligence and business sense. I just don't know if Rose can handle it...espicially with the current Council makeup. They would have him going in so many directions that his head would be spinning.

someone posted come july she will show us "local yocals" how to run a campaign. i think you spell it yokel, but who cares. i myself am tending toward sams. crazy or not, i think he forced some good changes in the school board. perhaps more important in my thought process is the list of brewer's supporters in her big campaign fund raiser. it seems to me, if you loved the last 20 years under ned, then you are really gonna love brewer. i myself want a change. and brewer's recent resignation from the magee or whatever company is a clear admission that her past activities don't pass the smell test.
dr sams enamoured us back some years ago when he took on the rapides foundation although we never found out the final outcome of that suit. and yes sams makes an interesting prospect for a mayor. ms brewer should first thing sit down and answer those tough questions about her aha bid and the brewer mcgee acquisition group llc., etc. it could be that she was thinking of retiring from the city anyway (after all nedmund waited until the last second to make an official announcement) and if she had the winning bid would have immediately resigned or retired from the city and not even be running for mayor. all these questions will have to be answered to everyones satisfaction before she should proceed. the committee to elect dr john sams is already running some radio ads on ksyl between 9-11 am during moon griffon. councilman johnson could make a viable candidate in the future but right now hes too wet behind the ears going from perennial candidate to finally 1 term in an at large seat on to mayor that quick is a pretty good reach he needs some more experience on the council and some more time warming a seat over at cfs's secret club lol.
Rosevelt, Charles Frederick and Fuller will all run. The black vote will be split up but Fuller gets a bigger chunk of it over the other two. Brewer is now toast. She was running as the reform candidate, but she is a good ole girl and it won't fly. Sams, crazy or not, is the damn default front runner. Fuller v. Sams in the run-off, then its anybody's guess.
Never forget Fuller & Myron Lawson are old political pardners from their Police Jury days. Myron, alledgely ran for city councilman instead of continuing as a police juryman because he could do more for his bretheren.

You're right, Delores has many years experience in City Government, she was groomed by Ned himself, she knows who the players are, and knows how to play the game...which is why she would make a very dangerous mayor.
If we are to clean up the mess at City Hall, we need a clean slate. Besides, our chioce of candidates might be thinned out a bit when the FBI gets through with their investigation.

Someone just told me that our very own Lamar White, Jr has put together a compelling proposal for saving Bringhurst Golf Course. They say it involves reopening the clubhouse as a non-profit organization. Tell us the details, Lamar.
The story is already out there...and despite what some people may say, many of us support people who are trying to do good for our community, even if they're "liberal."
The person who told me about Lamar's proposal says that (if he keeps his promises), Bringhurst could become "better than ever."
I hope this is true, because I'd hate to see the course closed for good.
I'm not sure who your source is, but yes, my brother Mark and I would like to create a non-profit organization to handle clubhouse management at Bringhurst. I'll write a full report on my blog if you're interested in the details.

Your right grants come from places like Rapides General. Rapides General wasn't that the hospital the Baptist built (say citizens of the cenla area) and ownership was given away so grants could be given to all these bullshit liberal projects. Museum's that cannot sustain themselves, art studios, performing arts, etc, etc.
