The world trade center bombed, nothing done. Wall of separation put up by Clinton between intel agencies. Towers destroyed. Bush cleans up the mess.

Mortgage rules lessed by Clinton. Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac run into the ground by democrat cohorts. Biggest economic mess since the Great Depression. Greenspan (husband of NBC reporter) did nothing. Bush cleans up the mess.

Clinton impeached. The nation's house becomes a bordello. Bush's morals clean up the mess.

I thought the commercial where Gremillion let his wife do all the talking and where he used the children to pray was bad enough and then last night I saw this idiots newest commercial. He has a baseball player endorse him for Judge. Gremillion has to be the goofiest sob Ive ever seen. If the people vote this guy in after he and his father manipulated the election I will lose all faith in the intelligence of the voters. Small businesses and families are his clients? How bout thats the biggest lie he could have told. He represents INSURANCE COMPANIES. Highly respected? Hes had 3 jobs in 4 years with 3 different law firms . Ask THEM what they think about his 'honesty and respectability' . If you want advice on where to buy a jock strap let Warren Morris make your decision for you . If you want to know who would NOT be a good person to put on the appeal court ask one of the lawyers in town who know this guy for the goofball that he really is. That goofy grin is not a put on expression by the way.

Hey, bub, lay off, I like Warren Morris! He's a La. hero. I was voting for Loren, but now you've pissed me off, and made me switch.

Lamar, when you were trolling around the net looking to bash McCain, how come you didn't post this from the New York Times?

"In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

"Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements," said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. "Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market."

- New York Times, September 30, 1999

the new york times isn't a journalistic organization.

at least that is what mccain says.

Anonymous said...

That article pretty much nails the coffin shut as to whose fault the broke down economy is: Democrat, democrat, democrat.

I smell a McCain landslide.

Anonymous said...

no, it just shows how ridiculous republicans are... digging up a 9 year old article after they've been in charge for the past 8 years.. even more than that if you include congress.. 12 years in control of congress, except for the past year... it's like they have no concept of responsibility.. even now they're trying to pass more deregulation and more tax breaks to solve a problem that was created by deregulation and tax breaks... completely out of touch... the polls point to an obama landslide... mccain put the final nail in his coffin.

What makes you think Loren made the comments about Gremillion. Could have been Eddie, oops I mean Triston.

Anonymous said...

I didn't care who made the comments, I was just voting for Loren cause he was a repub, but I like Warren much more, and now I'll vote for Gremillion because someone has Ahole supporters

Anonymous said...

So you've decided to choose a candidate based on his supporters...okay, if that's how you feel. I prefer to choose mine based on experience, and whether or not they look at my eyes or my chest when they speak to me. Every time I've met with or spoken to Mr. Lampert, he has always shown me the proper courtesy of looking at my eyes, that alone generally leads me to believe that he is an honest man. Also, he has been on both sides of the magic line between picking 'em up and prosecuting them. He is a good man who has spent his life as a public servant, not as a politician. He was a cop first, which I know first hand is a seriously underpaid, underrespected job that you can only do well if you truly love it. Then he went on to become one of the best prosecutors I have ever seen. He is truly fair, but at the same time, he always keeps the general idea of public safety first and foremost in his mind. To me that's what a judge should be, someone who can be fair but impartial, and someone who is going to consider both sides of a situation and based on law, logic, evidence, experience, and a sense of what is best for the common good...hmm, almost sounds like what a cop has to do on a daily basis.

My point is, I'm voting for Mr. Lampert because of who HE is and HIS accomplishments. I encourage you to do the same.

Anonymous said...

Great debate. McCain showed experience. My family will surely vote for him.

Anonymous said...

My wife and I will also vote for Lambert. He worked very hard to get where he is in life. He doesn't need his wife or his daddy to talk for him. His actions prove him worthy to be a good judge for all the people.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I vote for people based on their supporters.

Not a big McCain fan, but Obama has supporters that ask God to damn America, bomb the Pentagon, hack email accounts, assocate candidates with incest, and run ads about a candidates health.

I also don't like people downing someone based on their support from wife or La hero. So, yes I do judge someone by the company they keep. And as I mention this to people, I seem not to be the only one switching to Gremillion.

Keep up the good work.

Anonymous said...

Hey, Mr. intelligent vote is spelled with an "o." I can't accept that it was a typo, The "a" and the"o" keys are no where close to one another. And "rout" ends in an "e"

Having vowel trouble are we? I'm going to have to agree with the guy who looks at supporters when voting, because these are people that usually end up doing the day to day work for the candidate. And someone like you would scare hell out of me, to see you working for my government.

So I will not be voting for Lampert, either.

Well, sir or ma'am, in response to your inquiry as to why one might look at my chest, it is called "chest candy"...
For those that don't have knowledge of the military, it could be because of the large amount of awards and decorations that I wear on my uniform, or perhaps it may be the terrain features beneath...you be the judge. Either way, no matter what actually draws most people's attention there, the moral of the story is that I have never caught him looking. Doesn't mean he didn't, just means I haven't caught him, and believe me, I look for such things. A person's actions do speak louder than their words, and eyes are generally a dead giveaway. I tend to look people directly in the eye, and expect the same. It is a form of Interpersonal Communication, and it goes further than what is being said, and deeper than just the words and tone a speaker uses.

Its a tough call: Gremillion is clearly the best sunday school teacher and Knowl is the best hunter. All Lampert has going for him is that he'e the best most experience and most accomplished lawyer. How do I decide??

It is complete anti-intellectual, ahistorical bullshit to blame this on the Community Reinvestment Act.

This is the excuse made by the rich Republican idiots on Wall Street.

BLAME THE POOR PEOPLE AND BLAME THE MINORITIES.

DON'T LOOK AT ME. DON'T LOOK AT BIG BUSINESS. DON'T LOOK AT MY DISREGARD FOR THE RULES. DON'T BLAME THE LACK OF REGULATIONS. DON'T BLAME GEORGE BUSH.

BLAME THE POOR. BLAME MINORITIES.

Anonymous said...

All the facts are there. You just can't handle the truth.

All you have to look at is the price of housing vs. the rate of inflation, when the affordable homes policy was enacted.

Poor people took out loans for homes they couldn't afford, and then couldn't resale them for what they paid. It doesn't get any plainer than that.

Anonymous said...

Total bullshit.

CRA was passed NINE YEARS AGO. Back when the Dow was higher than it is today and back when regulators actually did their jobs.

This crisis is because of George Bush economics.

Now you Republicans are scrambling to blame this on minorities and poor people.

Anonymous said...

W. Bush Administration Changes of 2005

In 2002 there was an inter-agency review of the effectiveness of the 1995 regulatory changes to the Community Reinvestment Act and new proposals were considered.[6]

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency put new regulations into effect September of 2005. [10] The regulations were opposed by a contingent of Democrats[11]

The regulations included less restrictive new definitions of "small" and "intermediate small" banks.[3] "Intermediate small banks" were defined as banks with assets of less than $1 billion, but allows banks to opt for examination as a large bank.[10] Currently banks with assets greater than $1.061 billion have their CRA performance evaluated according to lending, investment and service tests. The agencies use the Consumer Price Index to adjust the asset size thresholds for small and large institutions annually.[6]

Anonymous said...

"CRA was passed NINE YEARS AGO."

I've always thought liberals were stupid. Thanks for proving it.

Nine years ago means Clinton was the president. See the constitution doesn't allow Bush to seve more than 8 years.

It's taken that long for the debts to mount up. Kinda like your own budget. You don't get into trouble after just one purchase. It's multiple purchases over a long period of time that does you in.

We are now done in.

TRUE STORY:
Monday morning I was on my way to court when Shannon Gremillion got on the elevator and asked the convict elevator operator where the DA's Office was located. This is not a man qualified to sit on the court of appeals, no matter how much his wife and kids and Warren Morris like him. That is scary.

Anonymous said...

CRA was passed in 1977. It's really stupid to blame a thirty one year old law on what's happening right now.

Anonymous said...

its over sight asshole. there were hearings in 2004. barney frank and maxine waters sat in at those hearings said there was absolutely nothing going on wrong with freddie mac and fannie mae. fucking dolts.

Anonymous said...

blaming this on fannie and freddie alone is plain ignorant. especially when you see lehman bros, aig, morgan stanley, etc. etc. etc. failing as well.

this is widespread institutional failure.

i agree with the previous poster who said right wingers only want to blame poor people and minorities for their own excesses and greed.

take a step back and you'll see this has more to do with wall street excess than with the honest desire to level the playing field for minorities.

Anonymous said...

what the hell do you think caused those investment firms to fail? it was mortgage backed investments. once all these foreclosures started the cash flow slowed to a drip! do your home work. like the saying goes "its better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it"

The Town Talk says:

"Rich Dupree, Pineville mayoral chief of staff, will talk about lessons learned from Hurricane Gustav when he speaks at the Oct. 8 meeting of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Central Louisiana chapter."

That guy is amazing. He runs Pineville virtually by himself. I wish Alexandria could find a public servant like that.

Election eve and this blog is dead. Where is everyone? Remember the mayor's race? It was hard to keep up with posts.

Anonymous said...

I have questioned Bush's cnservative credentials, but all in all he's gonna leave a very positive legacy.

1) He's kept the homeland safe
2) He allowed for the exposure Barney Frank, et al for the con men they are. Previously they couldn't be touched because of race, color, or gender. But now everyone's responsible for their words/actions
3) He's allowed the exposure of the welfare state. The collapse of "affordable housing", and with Cal and NY on the verge of bankruptcy, and the welfare mentality following Katrina, govts will see you cannot promise all things to all people and be able to deliver
4) Regardless of who is elected, he's ensured Rep presidents for the following 16-20 yrs. Obama will be Carter II, and Palin is seen as the driving force in this election. So a win there will be a reaffirmation of conservative philosophy
5) The nuts on the left HATE him. Which can only mean good things, n'est pas?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Rich is amzaing. I persoanlly am glad that Alexadndria DOES NOT have somebody like Rich. Remember that Rich has his ethics tral comming up and the mayor has already said he is guitly. But wait, Alexandria does have somebody like Rich, there are called Myron and Bridget.

still it sucks about mike. he was obviously the best candidate.

Roosevelt becoming Mayor of Alexandria will make Fields look like Albert Einestein.....

Anonymous said...

Just saw the news. Alexandria and Ball are hosting a clean up day for chemicals. So happens that it is being conducted at a plant which is OUTSIDE of the city limits of Pineville. Who takes credit for it and holds a press conference? Need you ask? Rich Dupree. In the interview he can be seen speaking slowly and loudly to Mayor Fields ex pl ain in things to him. If I were Fields or his wife I would be embarrassed by the way that this Dupree character has used his political office to promote himself and make his boss look like a know nothing idiot. Rule number one on political appointees. Do not make your boss look like he can't walk and chew gum without your directing him.

Anonymous said...

I have noticed that also. It is as if Fields is letting Dupree use his position to promote himself . Since Fields is not running for Senate could it be that there is a plan to have Dupree run? I pray so. It will be the slaughter that brings everything out in the open. Will be interesting to see.

Anonymous said...

It's a real shame that your disdain for Rich Dupree blinds you to two obvious truths that are apparent from recent newspapers ads. First, the City of Pineville is a SPONSOR of the event and thus, have been attempting to get the word out. Secondly, if an "Alexandria spokesperson" appeared on TV, the public would think it's in Alexandria again, which it's not. It's not in Ball either. It's at a business DUMBASS, whose headquarters are in Pineville! And who told you that Dupree "held a press conference". PLEASSSSSSSSSE take a cold shower and relieve that hard-on you have for Dupree.

Anonymous said...

The dupree character does seem to overshadow his boss. Ive just never seen anything like it where the employee makes the boss look inept. In that regard I do agree witht he previous poster.

Lamar has lost his mind!

He has fallen for the line that Ayers has rehabilitated his life.

LAMAR! Immediately after 9/11, Ayers took a picture with himself shown standing on the AMERICAN flag, and was quoted as saying he didn't bomb enough, back in the day.

That's your definition of rehabilitation?

I'm calling on you to resign your post in our government, immediately. Your views have become so radical, that you cannot see the danger that is present before you. Your possible influence has now become a dangerous presence to the good of our citizenry.

And if you cannot bring yourself to the decent thing, I will do all in my power can to see that your boss takes you with him, when we vote his ass out.

Anonymous said...

Uhhh... listen ANONYMOUS, I was referencing statements made by REPUBLICANS who have worked with this man, in particular Republican State Senator Diana Nelson of Illinois.

Get a grip.

You have misrepresented my intentions and my prerogatives, and you have attempted to inject kitchen sink politics in order to discredit your own neighbors.

Shame on you. Shame on your ridiculous attempt to discredit my own allegiance to our community and our country.

Shame on your manipulations of my intentions, and shame on your presentation of the facts.

How can we possibly move forward in a spirit of mutual cooperation when someone like yourself would so brazenly call for someone else to resign, simply because they don't share the same opinions on a national election?

Shame, shame, shame.

If you want to discuss real issues, let's have at it. But if all you care to do is tear your neighbors apart through parroting the ridiculous memes offered by the extreme right wing, then, sir (or ma'am), I don't think any of us should waste our time arguing with such a radical and divisive propagandist.

Anonymous said...

loosely translated, that means: "Uh, can't we talk about something else?"

What it means is "he is a White." How dare you question any action of a a White. Pillars of the Community, servants to the great unwashed. It should be noted that during the many years Lemming White ha been "blogging" he has never been incorrect. His postings are Gospel and are never wrong. Typically of that branch of the White family (see Grandma White) he is superior intellectually to us mere pissant taxpayers. Never has held a real job, a parasite on the taxpayers but all knowledgeable as to what we need.

Funny how he is always right.

Anonymous said...

Well, I don't agree with you or piss ant White either. He and the other ones , who have their own blog ought to stay on it. If we wish, we, mostly Republicans can vent on this site. We will surely be damned if we elect Barackatack Obama and his radical wife. UGH!

About Ayers:

"Diana Oughton would become his girlfriend until her death in a bomb-making accident in 1970."

"During that time his infatuation with street fighting grew"

"became a roommate of Terry Robbins. Robbins would later be killed while making a bomb."

"Ayers participated in the Days of Rage riot in Chicago"

"in 2001 Ayers published Fugitive Days: A Memoir. Former Weathermen have questioned the truth, accuracy, and tone of the book."

"quoted as saying "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough." When asked if he would "do it all again" he said, "I don't want to discount the possibility." Ayers has never denied the quotes."

2001 - Ayers said "we weren't terrorists. Terrorism was what was being practiced in the countryside of Vietnam by the United States."

2004 - Ayers said "the question of did we do something that was horrendous, awful? ... I don't think so"

1995 - Ayers said "I am a radical, Leftist, small 'c' communist. Maybe I'm the last communist who is willing to admit it"

"he was asked not to attend a progressive educators' conference in the fall of 2006 on the basis that the organizers did not want to risk an association with his past."

"in 1995, Ayers hosted a coffee for "Mr. Obama's first run for office"

Lamar, IT IS PAST Time, for you to resign. You spout off on things that you have no knowledge of. You are either a liar or deceiver. Either way, you should have no part in our government.

Anonymous said...

"Lamar, IT IS PAST Time, for you to resign. You spout off on things that you have no knowledge of. You are either a liar or deceiver. Either way, you should have no part in our government."

Let me make this clear, since it's obvious what you're trying to do here: I am not, have never, and would never defend William Ayers, and I find it amazingly shameless that you would make that implication. I have pointed out, rightfully, that Mr. Ayers worked with Republicans as well as Democrats, that a Republican State Senator called the McCain campaign meme on Ayers "ridiculous," and that the Annenberg Project was named after a Republican Ambassador to Ronald Reagan.

Those are all facts.

They may be inconvenient for you.

Because it's obvious what you're trying to imply and who you're mimicking.

Maybe this type of bullying works in your personal life, but coming from an anonymous blogger who is brazenly lying, it just looks cowardly.

Anonymous said...

So you don't find it more than a coincident that the same year Ayers admitted to being a communist, he sat out to launch Obama's career?

Yet you post that McCain is "wrong" in his assessment of Obama and Ayers?

Anonymous said...

No, in fact, I find the entire construction to be absurd. By all objective accounts, Obama is not and has never been close to William Ayers, though they knew each other and served on a board together.

I guess if all you watch is Fox News and if all you read is TownHall and Freepers and RedState, then it's easy to just parrot their lies and infotainment.

But see, most people aren't focused on this ridiculously heavy-handed attempt to make Obama (and I guess, by extension, anyone who supports his candidacy) into some sort of unpatriotic caricature.

Most people are focused on the fact that our economy is in the tank. Unemployment could reach nearly 8%. The Dow closed under 9,000 for the second time this week. We're definitely in worse shape than we were eight years ago.

For some people, this is far more important than these kitchen sink attempts to gain ground in the polls.

Anonymous said...

And to turn this country over to a closeted communist is your solution?

You're too naive.

Anonymous said...

Lamar....who is Mayor Roy wanting to win for president? And...does he know of your open support for Obama?

Anonymous said...

Can't wait till after Obama wins the election, and hear all all you you sad folks crying. HaHa

Anonymous said...

Yes let's talk about unemployment rising. Did it ever occur to anyone with any intelligence to look to see where the increase in claims came from???? Well let me suggest this. Claims rose in September for two very good reasons - Gustav and Ike. Claims rose because unlike big business, small businesses cannot keep employees on the payroll as they struggle to return from these two disasters. These employees filed for disaster unemployment! Hello! Take a look at regional filings when the September numbers become office or go look at the weekly claim numbers from the USDOL and you'll see the jump.

Now, that is not to say that GM and Archway Foods did not layoff people. That is not to say we're seeing a HUGE number of people in the financial sector lose jobs right now. But guess what??? Some of those people in the financial sector helped to create this mess.

When is someone going to investigate Countrywide and other failed mortgage companies which willingly followed the letter of the law and provided huge mortages to people they knew couldn't pay the notes because they had no proof of income? What Washingtonian illiterate decided to create a program called "no doc loans" to start with to assist minorities in accessing mortgages and other forms of credit? Theses are the people we should take out and shoot.

Now, those who believed in your image, as promoted, are disappointed and resentful because you turned out to be a lying whore. Forgive our reaction(s).

One has only to look at Lamar's blog to discover his true political leanings.

Plain and simple, Lamar is a Socialist publicly; privately he may lean far enough left to be considered a Communist.

Also consider that he has the eager ear of Mayor Jacques Roy, and that Roy publicly supports the most radical of liberal politicians.

Do we really want these social experimenters making decisions concerning our taxes and how they are spent?

Jacques, Lamar, and the rest of the socialists who infest City Hall should be removed at the earliest opportunity.

Seems like more than one person shares these same thoughts. "Litany of lies" is an appropriate description. Only problem the lies are coming from Lamar, not the posters on this blog. Let someone post the truth as in Lamar's little secret deal with Roy for a job and the person telling the story is attacked as a liar.

Lamar is a parasitical wart on the asshole of the tax paying citizens of Alexandria and his "position" is merly payment for his actions during the Mayoral race.

Roy is beginning to get good at these games. The reason the new Sheriff did not fire Charles Frederick Smith is that Roy asked him not to. This provided Roy with one black council member beholden to him. It will be interesting to see if CF is retained now that he lost. Roy will have to cultivate another city council member. Gonna be interesting to see where CF pops up in an appointed governmental position.

Here's a lesson in hypocrisy for you.

Lamar is defending Obama's associates as being rehabilitated.

OK, then why did that same logic not work for the man Lamar is paid to advise?

The mayor picked a fight with the black members of the council, and asked the public to come to his defense. In rode (on his white horse) a former Klukker.

The mayor couldn't distance himself fast enough.

Why didn't he use the Lamar/Obama defense, and just keep on plugging away?

Obama has Wright, Pfleger, Walsh, Davis, Alinsky, ACORN, Ayers, Raines, Johnson, Rezko, al Mansour, Odinga as past associations that he claims were rehabilitated, and peolpe of good standing. Despite these questionable judgements, Obama/Lamar continue to chug along, no looking back.

So why didn't the mayor just say, I assumed "the klansman was rehabilitated and welcome his participation in the political process," eh Lobamar?

With respect to the comments left at 4:56AM:

Despite the myth-making that sometimes occurs on this website, I never lied or deceived anyone. I volunteered for Mayor Roy's campaign, and on a few occasions, I shared with readers something that impressed me about the way he was conducting his campaign: He never offered anyone on his campaign a potential job in his administration. To me, it illustrated integrity and transparency.

And contrary to what has been said here, I never, not even once, suggested I would not want to work in his (at that point) hypothetical administration. In fact, the subject never came up at all.

It's not uncommon for someone to volunteer or work for a campaign and then be hired as a staff member after the election ends. In fact, it's a regular practice.

Indeed, sometimes, elected officials will shuffle their key staff members into their campaign during election years, only to move them back afterward.

I've never understood why anyone would actually feel deceived. There was no secret deal for a job. If you believe that, then you don't know me, and you obviously don't know the type of person Mayor Roy is.

I recognize that a couple of you have been attempting to spread this for two years now, but it's simply untrue.

With all of that said, I know sometimes people on this blog don't always share the same political beliefs as I do, and I would never expect otherwise. I just don't think it's productive or responsible to anonymously smear and lie about your neighbors, because no matter who wins, we're still all members of this community.

And by the way, I'm not a socialist or a communist.

I'm a progressive Democrat who believes in fiscal responsibility.

As stated, Lamar i always right and able to justify his actions. Us joe six packers are just igernant (sic on purpose) assholes not worthy of conversing with someone of his intelligence.

If it would not be for his lttle political patronage job he would be back living on the trust established by his father or dependent on his mother's largesse.

A carpenter can point to things he has built, a brick layer can point to edifices made of brick that he has constructed, an atorney can point to great cases he has won - what, may I ask, can Lamar point to as an achievement other than a religious degree (and he did not become a preacher) and some other like bull shit degree specializing in spending taxpayer's money on a has been dead, is dead and always will be dead dowtown Alexandria.

The path of I49 that nobody wanted bought up all the dead property and allowed those property owners to sell their worthless property at an inflated price. Lamar is going to finish the job by selling downtown as urban renewal programs.

By the way Lamar if this site so offends you stop reading it and posting on it.

Once again is the Sheriff gonna keep Charles F Smith employeed as a favor to Jacques now that he (CF) lost the election?

The citizens of Alexandria are so lucky - we got a bridge built that the majority of the voters voted against building and a routing of I49 that the majority of the folks voted against. So much for special interest group's influence.

I'm amazed at how the intellectual Obama supporters get caught in so much stupidity.

Remember all the brouhaha about the firings of certain US attys. Seems some were fired because they wouldn't find fraud during previous elections.

Yet now in 11 states, local officials are finding widespread fraud this election cycle. hmmm

As long as corrupt US attys were turning a blind eye to the obvious, they were simply doing the right thing. When Bush fired them, all hell broke loose. They knew that their schemes would be thwarted, as we see is happening this year.

Once again, Bush was bloodied for doing what was just.

The democratic machine is vile, corrupt, and without a soul. Maybe they should win, so they can turn on each other. And we can sit back and watch the implosion.

You try to counter all the other things said about you on here, but you won't answer these two simple questions?

Dunno if anyone reads this anymore but i just heard a shocking story about roosevelt johnson.

a few months ago he tried to attack an older black woman at a community meeting.

several people saw him and the woman even filed a police report.

the media needs to look into this. get a copy of the report and interview people who were at the meeting.

not sure what the meeting was about or who the woman is but i know there's a police report out there

It was Anglena Isles, and I don't think that she did file a police report.

Angelina Islaes had a meeting with City people over her litter campaign when Roosevelt showed up. He almost came accross a table at City Hall to attack her in front of a group. What he got angnry over was telling Angeglin Isles that litter was his plan inside Alexadria.

Several City employees saw it.

What's the deal about Goins forming a goddam transition team headed by Brown/Lawson protege, Kelvin Sanders? What sort of transition takes place when one councilman takes over for another? Is somebody paying for all this or what??? Amazing. I hope the mayor is wearing kevlar shorts because they are fixing to try to stick something right up his executive ass.

Goins is going to be a pain in every ones rear. He is a puppet for Lawson, Brown and Sanders. He had no mind of his own.

Goins has someone on transition team to advise him on how to hire his own staff.

He's starting out on the WRONG foot.

A "Transition Team" for a new city councilman? What a pompous ass Mr. Goins has shown himself to be!

Anonymous said...

Not a single white person on his transition team, and his district ain't 100% black.

He'll wanna lecture people about diversity, I guarantee!

Anonymous said...

Goins is confused about what a part-time city councilman does... but you can't blame him. He's just a tool of Myron Lawson and Bridgett Brown who got elected by promising people city jobs and contracts.

Usually it takes time before politicians become corrupted. Goins was raised by corruption. The only reason he is a councilman is because Swent is an idiot who doesn't know the definition of residency. Everyone knows that.

Goins wants to create his own parallel mayor's office so he can dole out jobs and contracts to fulfill his promises.

Too bad it's all illegal and unethical. Goins will set himself on fire before he's even sworn in.

Davenport is the one who said the reason Goins didn't live in his district is because Goins just didn't want to bring his clients into the hood. Goins doesn't live in his district because he is ashamed of it.

It's disgusting that Goins would allow himself to be represented by a racist. He is a disgrace.

Anonymous said...

Its just like the Jeffersons moving on up. Its only natural that all people as they grow on the social scale move up to the better living neighborhoods.

It is racist to say that Blacks cannot move up with better living conditions, just like Whites.

Anonymous said...

What type of records could an Electrical Engineer intern be possibly nlooking at. Marcotte's lack of status as a registered/certified engineer leaves him unqualified to present factual data.

Anonymous said...

I don't think anyone is opposed to social mobility. The problem surfaces when you say that you live in an area and then declare that you are too good to live in that area. It's called a "lie".

Unfortuneately, the residents of Charles F.Smith's district are so used to being lied to and under-represented that they would have elected a beagle over CFS.

Anonymous said...

Amazing. I always thought that an expert witness was decided at that time, not several months after the fact. He was allowed to testify, so he was an expert.

Anonymous said...

No one is saying that Goins can't move to a better neighborhood. Just saaying he can't represent an area he is "too good" to live in. Nothing racist involved.

Anonymous said...

did the "expert witness" establish to the satisfaction of the judicial system that Goins was not a resident of the District in which he ran? The expert witness is an expert in the eyes of city hall, not in the eyes of professionals.

Anonymous said...

From what I read in the Town Talk, the expert witness only testified on utility usage at Mr. Goins "residence" (his grandmothers house). I don't think this was the only testimony given in this case.

Anonymous said...

What a dumbass. If he testified as an expert witness at trial, he was accepted as an expert.

Anonymous said...

he was accepted as an expert witness in a trial held in Alexandria before an Alexandria judge. In a real court system he would have been classfied as to what he is - an intern unable to to certify anything.

His expert testimony must not have have much of an impact at the appeliate level - didn't Goins prevail?

Anonymous said...

Goins prevaled on law dumbass, not on testimony. Goins prevalied at the local level as well as the appellate level.

Now that it is official that the Mayor and his administration acted inappropriately, Lamar has a huge assignment. He will now spend the remainder of the Roy administration (however long thats going to be) justifying, lying and covering up the illegal and unwarranted behavior of the Mayor, Chief of Staff and City Attorney. What a group of lawyers! Last year the Mayor asked for a "call to action" from the citizens to look into the unethical behavior of the city council. Can we get the same "call to action" to investigate the Mayor and his "flunkie administrators"? Wonder why Mr. Transparency (the Mayor) didn't honor the subpoena and show up to testify at the civil service hearing? What does the Mayor have to hide? Does the egomaniac Mayor think that the law and rules apply to everybody but him? Perhaps, now the Mayor understands why in our democratic form of government we not only elect our leaders but we have three separate branches of government that provide a healthy checks and balance. If we wanted one person to make all the rules, execute them and judge them, we would get rid of our democracy and create a dictatorship. To that point, Mayor Roy should stay out of the city council elections and act as the chief administrative officer that we elected him to be.

Looks like the Electrical Distribution Department's Intern is finally being shown his limitations. Funny that Civil Service would reprimand an "expert" witness.

Marcotte has long been involved in the political ongoings of the City. Marcotte was hired as a political favour by the old regime and at that time he commited to obtaining his engineering certification as part of his employment requirements. No more Ned no more promise it appears. Highly placed, old golfing buddies from Red Simpson continue to take care of him. Even the Judge that adjudged him an expert witness now has doubts about his expertese.

Anonymous said...

Even if an Electrical Engineer Intern could lend an air of "expertise" to a legal procedings what was
Marcotte doing inside the house. Junior G-Man Marcotte's ego keeps him involved in situations in which he is neither qualified nor has the intelligence for. Of course he as always been a good lackey. Roy's hey bou.

Goins should sue the shit out of Marcotte.

Anonymous said...

Marcotte holds his job by being a suck ass to those above him while acting superior to the employees beneath him. His ego and intelligence knows no bounds - just ask him. It is common suspicion he doles contracts out to favorite contractors.

However time passes on.

I'm thinking they have a pretty strong case against a few if the big shots for malfeasance. I wonder if they are going to get 5th amendment English on their ass<<<

Anonymous said...

Marcotte was issued a subpoena. He had to comply. What part of that do you not understand?

The judge declared him an expert. Not an engineering expert, but at least said that he knew enough to look at a utility bil and tell if services were used.

He was not the only city employee that testified.

Anonymous said...

Marcotte was offerred to the judge as an expert witness by Smith. Marcotte was issued a subpena because Smith turned his name in as not only a witness but an expert witness. The Judge does not decide who will be offered up as a witness by either party. The Attorney's for the parties involved make this decision.

Swent covered her ass by saying if anyone other than Marcotte would have been offered as an expert that would have been taken into consideration.

Why did Marcotte have to go into the man's house? Sufficient records should be available to determine utility useage at the location. Marcotte should have never entered the man's place. This is typical Marcotte method of operation. He thinks he is vastly knowledgeable on most any subject, ignores applicable law and charges ahead the way he wants to.

His statement that Roy and the rest of gang advised him to honor the ubpeno is ridiculous. Thiw was a legal action between Smith and Goins. Marcotte should have sought the advice of his atorney no the Mayor and the other politico's. However, one can see Marcotte slobbering at Charles Frederick's feet wanting to get involve and impress everyone with his knowledge.

Anonymous said...

WRONG!
This was the Jacques/Chuck show from the getgo. Smith's attorney was one of the main city attorneys chosen and hired by the Chuckster. Smith can hardly form a proper sentence. To think that he could conceive, understand, and mount an attack on Goins' qualifications is beyond reasonable belief. Look for this to bounce right back on Roy/Johnson. The blogger suggesting malfeasance exposure is on the mark.

Goins is a joke. He ACTUALLY lives in the Lakes District in a posh apartment, but he told everyone he REALLY lived in his grandmother's house.

His grandmother's been in a nursing home for months. No one lives there.

Marcotte testified that there wasn't enough water used to even brush your teeth. The house was vacant.

Goins's lawyer said he didn't go to HIS OWN "HOUSE" because he didn't want to bring clients to the hood.

Maybe or maybe it's because Goins didn't actually live in the house.

Goins's testimony and defense were built on lies. Someone needs to file a complaint to the bar association.

This man won an election he should have been disqualified from and instead of being gracious, he went after a city employee who was subpoenaed by a court. Marcotte just told the truth.

How can anyone believe you can LIVE in a house and spend less than $100 a month in utilities???

It's just bullshit.

Anonymous said...

If an elected official is accused of murdering someone and the court subpoenas a police officer to describe the evidence he collected, wouldn't this also be considered a city employee getting involved in politics?

I don't know Marcotte, but if he was subpoenaed because he works in utilities, he had no choice.

Marcotte is the official non-registered/non-certified electrical engineer who is responsible for electrical distribution. How can he be an expert witness when he poseses no qualifications (license, completion of a certification program, etc) to be an expert. He is an intern that is suppossed to be working under the supersion of a registered/certified electrical engineer.

Funny thing is that the City of Alexandria does not have on staff a registered electrical engineer though we operate a power plant and a power distribution network.

Marcotte was tasked by the Mayor to testify against Goins (as an expert) in a civil suit. CF was the only pro-Roy person of color on the council and Roy was trying to help him all he could. Roy (supposedly) entered into a deal with our new Sheriff to not fire CF from the Sheriff's Department.

Anonymous said...

Wonder what kind of Expert Witness Marcotte was deemed to be? Maybe he is an expert at determining a person's legal address of residency?

If this would be just the average city employee the end result would probably be termination. Marcotte has the protection of the City's Finance Director (chums from Red Simpson days)so he was probably protected.

Anonymous said...

Marcotte just did what he was told. The question is: WHO TOLD HIM?

Its hard to believe that the city would let george ganienne who is virtually full time with the city, represent Smith in a political fight.

Anonymous said...

The city DOES have an Electrical Engineer in the Electic Department. His name is James. Check it out before you start spouting garbage.
Michael Marcotte does have a degree in Electical Engineering. The job he holds does NOT require a PE. The person that had it before did not even have an Engineering degree. It has never been required for that job.

Anonymous said...

The City also has an individual with an electrical engineering degree in the MIS department. However, all these are Colege degrees not PEs. Marcotte is shown on the roles of the State of Louisiana as an Intern and, thusly, greatly limited in what he can and cannot do. Marcotte can not do design work, certify anything as being compliant with engineering specifications.

With that in mind again I ask what field was he declared an expert witness in.

Marcotte committed himself to Ned Randolph that he would become a PE when the Finance Director convinced Ned to hire Marcotte. Ned is gone and promises forgotten.

It will be interesting to check the job description to see if Marcotte is qualified.

Anonymous said...

So the sheriff's dept has no money?

Isn't that what people were worried about with Chuck, no business experience?

Anonymous said...

What degrees do you have Mr. Anonymous? My guess is NONE. Are you a PE? My guess is NO!

How would you know what someone promised Ned?? Ned wouldn't even know.

Anonymous said...

Everbody in electrical distribution knows what crutchfield promised ned in order to get ned to hire marcotte.

At the time of marcotte's hiring it was a well known topic of discussion.
