Twelve Days Left ...

The two hot races in Alexandria are the Sheriff's race and the House Dist. 25th race. I would guess that shortly things will get a little testy, after all this is Louisiana.

Check out the Hilton interview on the KALB web site. Do you believe him?

Anonymous said...

Slocum and his people are liars. I am sick of political legacies. I am voting for Wagner.

Anonymous said...

Chuck Wagner is a liar. He says he has deputy experience. No, he never worked patrol. Also, He says he retired from the state police. No, he quit because a black trooper was promoted instead of him. Don,t beleive me? ask his brother who sleeps at work every day. Straight from his own brothers mouth.

Anonymous said...

Do you have a link for that statement, anonymous?

My neighbor told me Slocum lied about graduatin from high school. How can anyone trust a liar?

Anonymous said...

The link does not link me to a statement from wagner's brother. i want to see a news article with wagner's brother's statement.

the guy who said this here is just a liar, just like slocum and all those other people who hang out with slocum.

I copied and pasted this from the TT forums:

"Qualified? Let’s take a little closer look at Chuck Wagner’s qualifications. He worked a total of 17 months with the RPSO. During that time he was assigned to the “Special Services” division under Sheriff Grady Kelly. His direct supervisor was Hardin Lewis. His duties consisted of following Hardin around, cleaning BBQ pits and frying fish. During his time with RPSO he never made an arrest, never conducted a criminal investigation, never appeared in court for any type of criminal proceeding.
During his tenure with the state police, he was assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Division. His job was to visit various casinos across the state and check the packs of playing cards to make sure the seals were intact. Again, he never made an arrest, never was in charge of any type of investigation, never testified in court. As to his position as a drug salesman, he has never supervised any type of department, section, or even had his own secretary. He has never formulated a budget. His college degree is in criminal justice, a degree that someone obtains when they intend to go to law school and pursue a career in criminal defense work. In effect, Chuck has an undergraduate degree in helping criminals get out of jail.

Qualified??? Not even close.

Any of you Wagner people care to comment? Is this true? Can you prove that it's not?

Anonymous said...

Here we go, this he's a "liar". She's a "liar". Anyone around them is a "liar". Sound familiar. The old machine is up and running. I saw the interview by Godard. This smells like a "hit piece" to me.

Anonymous said...

His college degree is in criminal justice, a degree that someone obtains when they intend to go to law school and pursue a career in criminal defense work.

That's not true. Those courses are specifically usually taken by cops, seldom by anone wanting to go to law school

Anonymous said...

Check the LC website and you'll find that the degree program for Criminal Justice falls in the Division of Human Behavior along with degrees in Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. The prigram also says "Our Criminal justice graduates have distinguished themselves in areas of the city and state police"...yada, yada, yada.

It also goes on to say: "Other criminal justice graduates have practiced law after attending and graduating from law schools."

The main thrust of this degree program is devoted to criminal behavior and what makes the bad guys tick. Something that District Attorneys and Criminal defense lawyers need to know.

Ask those who remember Wagner as a student and they will say he had no patience for the details of human behavior, and was an average student at best.

Now that we have that out of the way, please address Wagner's total lack of experience in criminal investigation, evidence, budget, leadership, administration, number of arrests he has made...etc, etc, etc...

We're waiting...

Anonymous said...

One of the candidates for sheriff reminds me of a bobble head, guess who?

Anonymous said...

Why hasn't the RPSO made any significant drug busts?

Anonymous said...

They have. Metro Narcotics prefers to work off camera. It keeps the deputies safe and promotes the free flow of information between the street snitches and the agents.

Last week, M/N seized 120,000 amph pills thet were to be used in the production of Meth. In that same bust they seized a brick of cocaine worth about $500,000.00.

Anonymous said...

They also captured two Iranian missles and a Chinese spy. They are the ones that initially reported the WMDs in Iraq. They manage to do all this despite the fact that their fearless leader, Capt. Rauls, has had some rather unfortunate "complications" in his career.

I am concerned that there is and forever will be so much resentment against Slocum that the dept. will never function properly.

Anonymous said...

This is getting hilarious. Ok Hilton says Herman Walters is paranoid and anxious and makes things up. Hilton has allowed this man to carry a gun for 30 years and serve in his department. Sounds like this man should be in Central. Or is Hilton pissed that Walters was tired of threats and intimidation. Which is it? Could someone explain this to me. This department clearly needs change. It looks like Slocum has plenty of experience he has learned well from Hilton ie he is now intimidating women newsreporters. How pathetic

Anonymous said...

"A black trooper was promoted over him." Sounds simple enough until a person realizes that at the time the Black Troopers could not pass the Civil Service Tests for promotion. So typical Louisiana answer lower the standards.

There were many Black Troopers with seniority out of the ying yang but unable inteligence wise to pass the promotion test. So the Black Troopers got together and demanded the test be dumbed down. Then when all the Brothers started passing the lower standards they become most qualified due to years of service.

Leader of the pack is a retired Black State Trooper who resides in the Cenla area. He spent his DROP years working at the Casino - apparently he also checked playing cards while drawing a salary and banking big bucks for when he realy retired.

FACT ENOUGH?????

Anonymous said...

Forgot to add that it was probably Whitey's fault that the test were to hard for the Black Troopers to pass. Just another example of the White Man suppressing the ambitions and desires of the African Americans desire for equality.

The Blacks lack the educational ability to pass tests that Whites seemed to be abloe to pass so in order to insure equality we dumb down the test. Let us just give the jobns to the Blacks, to hell with testing and standards.

THE NEWEST AND WEIRDEST RUMOR ABOUT ME
Yesterday while I was at the courthouse, I heard a new rumor about me which has to be the strangest I have heard in a while. I was told that some in local law enforcement claim that I am in the Mafia. That has to be one of the funniest rumors yet. I wonder why many of my very vocal critics aren't "sleeping with the fishes"?

TAKES A BACKBONE AND A SET OF BALLS TO ANSWER YOUR WONDER WHY QUESTION.

Word about Wagner's promise to hire Goddard as Public Information Officer, should he win, is beginning to leak out.

With the station on the sale block, Goddard is looking for a place to land.

COPIED FROM AYMOND'S BLOG

"Politics As Usual In Central Louisiana

There is word around town that Goddard cut a deal with Chuck Wagner.

When KALB is sold, Goddard is most likely out of a job.

In return for the hatchet job, if Chuck is elected sheriff, he will make Goddard PR director for the RPSD.

I wouldn't doubt there is some credibility to this.

NOW DON WHY POST THIS RUMOUR HERE AFTER POSTING IT ON AYMOND'S BLOG? yOU SHOULD KNOW ANYTHING POSTED ON AYMOND'S BLOG HAS NO CREDIBILITY.

Anonymous said...

If Bridgett Browneye actually called Aymonds a piece of shit and racist in open court, in front of the bar, ...

...doesn't Aymonds have a duty to report her to the bar association for violating the cannons of professionalism????

Anonymous said...

Aymond seems to be selective in fullfilling his duties. He dislikes the Ethics bunch so he is always ratling their cage. His actions could get him in trouble with the Bar so he treads carefully.

Again it takes a backbone and a set of balls to truly right all the wrong in the world. He selects his fights.

However, is being truthful a reporteable offense?

Anonymous said...

I think the key here is that Aymond is out to discourage dishonest conduct at the public's expense. I think this just proves that it is not about personal feelings or a vendetta (except with Rich Dupree) but a genuine legitimate concern. We all know all this stuff about Bridget and Myron and we just let ourselves be pissed of. Aymond took steps to correct it.

Anonymous said...

Aymond is out for personal gain and glory - nothing more, nothing less. He is a bottom feeder.

Anonymous said...

That is obviously not so and you show your total lack of objective fairness by saying that. Stuff needed to be done and he actually did it - we (including the administration that had a real affirmative duty to respond) just sat arround and complained and swore.

Anonymous said...

COPIED FROM AYMOND'S BLOG...

Yes but from a comment from a dumbass, probably one that comments here. Read it again Aymond didn't say that about Michelle having a deal with Chuck.

Possibly so. Why don't you state which ones she violated and then maybe he will. And how do you know he didn't?

Did you hear Mike say on his interview that he knew nothing of the petition being signed by 300 deputies in the sheriff department. Are you kidding or is Slocum getting ready to hang Sandoval ass out to dry when someone investigates this illegal activity of intimidating the deputies and extorting money from them. Wake up Sandoval you are supposedly a good detective and should be able to tell what is going to happen.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Herman Walters for standing up for the sheriff department. Why did you not run for sheriff? I am a mother of one of the deputies that was intimidated into signing the petition and give 10 dollars in support of Slocum. Sandoval said Slocum was expecting him to support him and gave him a "wink". Well we will be glad when this race is over and my son and our whole family will not be voting for Slocum. I hope someone investigates this activity. For godsake these are law officers doing this.

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or is the Alexandria Town talk the most racist newspaper in the state. When certain black officials do controversial things they get hammered. When white powerful men intimidate and extort money from people there is silence. Cynthia Jordan, who thinks she is so self rightousness, does nothing. You and your newspaper are a joke.

Anonymous said...

Well, I am a wife of a deputy and my husband also was approached by those two deputies in the story and basically told him to hand over the money and sign your name during office hours at work. We have a tight budget, two kids, and I am in between jobs. That is grocery money for us. Well, he gave the money and signed your pathetic petition but I can assure you that myself and husband will not be voting for Slocum. I hope they investigate this because my husband will be the first to volunteer his testimony.

Jesus. Ya'll need to get together and at least try to make your stories sound a little different. What a farce. Losing candidates will do anything to try to get traction.

Anonymous said...

After reading the readers write today, I don't think I can take it anymore.
Mike supports wasteful spending for all groups based on the number of votes they can deliever.
1. Let's see you have the Old Patrol - overweight, retired old white men that have nothing to do but ride around in sheriff police cars, burn gas, politic for Mike Slocum. Do they ever arrest anybody?
2. The Soul patrol who is made up of CFS, Joe Fuller, Roosevelt Johnson, various pastors that have a large enough congregation to make the list, and finally but not least ask Mike about if he is going to hire Herbert "I live off the government" Dixon. And you Slocum supporters I don't want to hear, "Mike has'nt promised anyone any jobs" just go ask Dixon he's telling everyone.
This why the Sheriff department needs change. Any dumbass can see this. How about hiring somebody who can actually perform police work. Novel concept.
Also, Mike you will need to spend much more in the run off to get the vote out. I am sure you were pleased with the results in the primary after dropping $40,000.

I received a mailout today that said Lance Maxwell doesn't have a phone listed for his law firm or an occupational license. What's up with this kid and all his lies?

Anonymous said...

I heard about Maxwell and the fake law office. The guy is a liar. He is desperate, and he is a future career politician. DON'T VOTE FOR HIM.

He also scares me.

Anonymous said...

Lance Maxwell is not a liar and is only interested in the future of Central Louisiana. He is an honest young man with integrity and values.

Just vote for the candidate who you believe will do the best job for Central Louisiana. Let's get above all this mud-slinging mess.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Just because Lance "mis-spoke" about his experience, his professional accomplishment, and even his address, that's no reason to call him a liar. It's what Delores Brewer calls a "figure of speech".

Anonymous said...

Lance does not practice law. He has only done curator work. This year, if he made $150 for all the work he did for each case, he has only made $1800 so far. Who is supporting him and why doesn't he have a job like everyone else?

Also, he is not supposed to be on the curator list. That is only for lawyers who work for the IDB. So why is he on it?

He has never filed a suit or defended one for anyone, all he has ever done is this curator work which he is not supposed to even do.

HE's never met a payroll. He's never run a business. He can't even keep his occupational license up to date. No wonder he can campaign 24/7, he's not working and someone else is supporting him!

In addition, his address is at Tom Wells' law office. If all the lawyers who are supposed to work there are there (Tom Wells, Tom Searcy, Jam Downs, both Maxwells), one of them is without an office b/c there are only 4 attorney offices in his building.

Lance needs to get married, have some kids, WORK, pay some taxes, pay some employees and find out how the real world works instead of being supported by whomever and shading his occupation and accomplishments.

Finally: did he drive Vitter to the cathouses in NO and DC and wait outside or did he accompany him inside????

Anonymous said...

I heard Lance don't like the cats in the cathouse. Have you seen the way he looks at Jimbo?

Anonymous said...

Sounds like the same people that blogged durig the Brewer campaign. Got to give it to the Roys', ya'll have some loyal henchmen that sit in front of computers all day attacking Repubs. Of course that is not limited to here, the whole Cenlamar blog which is run by a city employee no less is a republican hate website. I don't disagree about Lance's experience, but holy shit, what makes Chris Roy better? Being a trial attorney for 20 years? Last time I checked that wasn't always a good thing.

Anonymous said...

Ask the Maxwell family if they have used a trial lawyer in the not too distant past. Ask then about loss of consortium?

Anonymous said...

Are you talking about the slip and fall lawsuit against one of our local universties? Tell me they are not going to knock trial lawyers after that. Lance don't even want to cross that bridge.

Anonymous said...

Lance's total lack of work and life experience is not nearly as important as his dishonest and misrepresentation about it.

I agree that nobody had a crystal ball but if the choice is between someone who has done nothing worthwhile (I have heard stories about his lack of worth and reliability when he clerked for Judge Ryland) and then lies about his experience and qualifications, and someone who has done something well for 20 years, what's the way to bet.

All the speculation about Lance's "lifestyle" is missing the point. He lacks any history or virtue that would recommend him for any job, particularly one this important.

Anonymous said...

I was a Maxwell supporter, but now I am voting for Chris Roy. Thanks for this info. on Lance.

Anonymous said...

I was going to vote for Roy but now that I found out he is a trial lawyer I think I'll vote for Lance.

Anonymous said...

Dishonest underhanded campaign commercials sunk Farrar, Brewer, and now Lance. It's that horrible radio add that I can't get past.

Anonymous said...

Ask Lance's family about trial lawyers, they love them, slip and fall, ketchup bottles etc... oh oh another one, wreck, lance involved too, more to come.

Anonymous said...

Lance was told to move his rolling billboard away from polling area at the courthouse yesterday. He said he didn't know he couldn't leave it there. How much more will he not know if he makes it to the capitol?

Anonymous said...

That's hilarious. Who is running the Roy campaign? They're campaign boils down to "Vote for me, I'm a REAL lawyer, and I've got a phone number that proves it". You're kidding right? LOL

Now thats desperation. But hey, it must think its working for him. It's selling real well in the district, against his financial support of those tax and spend, abortion, and gay marriage politicians.

Anonymous said...

Quit trying to deflect the load of crap that Wagner & Goddard trying to lay on the voters.

She should be fired and Wagner should be soundly beaten.

C'mon. Shadowed faces, distorted voices. Has there been a hit put out on police officers? Guys that carry guns for a living are afraid? I'll repeat that guys that are trained to kill if necessary, claim that they are afraid of a piece of paper?

I imagine they're about to lose their job no matter who is elected. They're wimps!

What's next for Goddard, Navy Seals in shadow, afraid of catching the flu?

Anonymous said...

Actually, they are both saying they are real lawyers and have a phone number - it's just that Roy is telling the truth. I think that matters, don't you?

Anonymous said...

Well, there was one sheriff employee who did not hid his face or alter his voice and his name was Herman Walters a deputy for 24 yrs and chief of detectives. I think this is very disturbing. It appeared Slocum was going to win easily and now it seems as if his campaign is imploding.

Anonymous said...

I'd vote for the non-lawyer any day! It is stupid saying, vote for me, I'm more of a lawyer than he is.

Anonymous said...

How much did the Maxwells get in the slip and fall at Northwestern?

Anonymous said...

ya gotta luv that roy supported blanco financially. thats going over real well with voters in his district

Anonymous said...

More Maxwell lawsuits coming, will have the results from the whiplash lance got tomorrow. I will review the case and fill you in. It is no wonder he doesn't have to work.

Anonymous said...

If everyone hates lawyers, who in the hell keeps hiring them?????????????

Anonymous said...

It ain't about lawyers, it's about liars.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who knows Herman Walters knows that he HATES Slocum. Slocum has risen in the ranks while Walters is stuck in his position and will never advance.

We also know for fact, that Walters has been promised a promotion and a salary increase should Wagner be elected.

Walters is a joke within the department. He's earned the nickname "Youffo," a play off of UFO, because he's way out there.

Anonymous said...

Hilton named him Chief of Detectives which is the most vital law enforcement department of any agency. Hilton apparently did not think Walters was a joke. He just became a "joke" when he shined a light on the problems created by Slocum's political methods. I saw Hilton's interview and he didn't appear to think that "joke" was funny.

Anonymous said...

Why can't we make the sheriff an appointed position instead of elected? This political bullshit is getting out of hand!

Anonymous said...

Who is this moron???

Hilton named him Chief of Detectives which is the most vital law enforcement department of any agency.

First, Walters is not Chief of Detectives, second the most vital division is Uniform Patrol. They're the guys pounding the streets every day, day in and day out, third we have called him Uffo for several years. He claims to have seen UFOs skimming across Kincaid Lake and has a scrap book of UFO sightings from across the world. Ask him, he is a walking encyclopedia on sightings and landings. It's his hobby, and pretty harmless.

The Michelle Godard story on Slocum was a hatchet job. She ought to be canned. But, hey don't look for Les Golman to do that. He's been smitten with her for years. It dates back to when she was doing car commercials prior to her "distinguished" journalism career. It was Les, not the former news director who hired her. Les has always let her have her way there. The only way to get his attention about her is through advertisers. If enough companies pull their advertising, he'll reign her in. But, hey, where would advertisers go? It's still just about the only logical place to advertise locally. That's a shame.

Anonymous said...

LOL!!! UFO's skimming across Kincaid Lake? Surely we cannot take anything Herman Walters says seriously. Geez. I feel really safe since this nut job is out there to serve and protect me.

Anonymous said...

Nice job of disguising the voices of the sheriff's deputies in Michelle's Slocum story. One sounded like Mickey Mouse and the other like a serial killer on valium. When I saw the story, I laughed the minute they started talking. The content did not seem serious delivered in the distorted, cartoon voices. What a friggin joke. Michelle is certainly not Dateline NBC material!

Interesting reading can be found in Rapides Parish, Civil Suit No. 181,686 (1999). "Petitioner shows that the defendant has over the course of this marriage engaged in a series of conduct wherein he has engaged in extramarital affairs continuously and whereas for periods of time he would absent himself from the matrimonial domicile . . ." There are actually 3 women named in the suit -- he was a very busy man. It makes you wonder if it's true that while working at KALB he would order clothes for his girlfriend out of catalogs and then call his wife and tell her to have supper cooked - I guess everyone was suppose to laugh at that, but no one found it funny.

Anonymous said...

By the way,the about suit is Coco vs. Samuel Stephen Coco

Anonymous said...

All that KALB needs to finish living up to being the most lame TV station in Louisiana is to hire Steve Coco back to anchor the news. Steve could help Michelle finish the job of ruining what once was a good local news department. Farrah Reyna is the only good one left over there. Dale Hoffman is a weird, wire haired midget. The reporters are so green, they can't pronounce names of local people or towns properly. The weather dept. is still good, other than the new chick with the high-pitched voice who's god awful.

Anonymous said...

I say, let her hire Steve back to work at KALB. At least we could be assured that we wouldn't have him on the police jury. I can change channels on my TV. But we'd have to live with the pervert on the jury.

Anonymous said...

I like Michelle Godnard - don't be too hard on her. I personally thank she is good for KALB and I enjoy her stories.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone heard that Coco was asked to leave from a local radio station for harrassing women??? I've worked with him on the CMN show at Cabrini and let me tell you he thinks he is God's gift to women.

Anonymous said...

In case anyone out there is wondering, I believe the name of the station where Steve Coco worked and did the morning news was LA103.5. I wondered why one day he did the news and then nothing was heard about him.

Anonymous said...

I like Michelle "Godnard" too, I just don't like Michelle Godard.

Anonymous said...

Hey, maybe Coco grabbed one too many female asses at LA 103.5. Or maybe being a candidate and a radio personality at the same time ain't kosher. Must be pursuing his barbeque business full time now. What's up with him refusing to give his age to the Town Talk?

Anonymous said...

Well I personally don't care what Coco's age is - but it does bother me that he thinks as a police juror that he would have anything to do with the utilities at the Alex. Tennis Courts. I'm sure the parish must have some important business other than trying to tend to City Council business. He even said in The Town Talk that he was running for Police Juror because of his utility bill. Exactly what does he think the jury can do about utility bills - give me a break! Hell, he didn't know who the police juror was in Dist. G. I bet Mr. Wood (who was a good police juror) loved it that Coco didn't even know he was the police juror until he decided to run! (The Town Talk) He really has had an interest in our local government hasn't he!

OK so we know now that Herman Walters is one of those harmless kooks that see flying saucers and little green men. What I want to know is the correct spelling of the guy's nickname. Is it "Uffo" or "Youffo?"

Anonymous said...

Gee.....all these years, I thought his name was.....

MO-FO.......

Anonymous said...

I think it is pretty sorry of you people who are bashing Major Herman Walters for having the balls to go on camera to say what he believes. At least he uses his own name and face and does not hide behind some silly nickname on the computer. Also Major Walters has dedicated his working life to law enforcement. I have known of major cases he broke while he was working cases and earned the right to be Chief of Detectives+

Anonymous said...

Major Herman Walters has never broken anything but his wrist from bending that coffee cup a little too much. He's generally considered a joke at the office and the only reason he went on camera is because he thinks EVERYONE is after him. He sees black helicopters everywhere and thinks the aliens are listening to his conversations.

Rumor is he sleeps with a tin foil cap on to keep the little green men from reading his thoughts when he sleeps.

Anonymous said...

Herman did have to admit that there is no corruption in the dept.

speaks volumes in favor of both Hilton & Slocum. I imagine Wagner pissed his pants when that happened. he was hoping to throw that out, but his man ruined that for him.

all he's left with is the one man on patrol crap.

Anonymous said...

Hilton says that he and Walters are childhood friends, have been trusted associates and neighbors for all these years, named the head the detective division by Hilton, frequently speaks for the dept. and now, by speaking out honestly, he is suddenly some kind of useless kook. How can it be that a trusted and responsible friend, in whom Hilton displayed great affection and professional confidence for all of the many many years, is suddenly kicked to the curb. Shame on Hilton.

Anonymous said...

Maybe because he is a useless kook. Did it ever dawn on Walters that he should be grateful to Hilton for keeping him employed? If he would have kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't be picked on. Obviously he's a stupid kook, rather than merely a kook.

Anonymous said...

Just read the stuff about Coco. Maybe he went into the barbeque business because he loves to "eat meat." HAHAHAHAHA

Anonymous said...

I take it that your point is that Walters has always been worthless and Hilton spent our money to keep him around for sentimental reasons. That's the bullshit that needs to stop. I noticed Rev. Hardison, a black preacher on Hilton's payroll, is strongly behind keeping the present generous system. Your hard-earned money is going to pay of Charles F. Smith, Roosevelt Johnson, and these parasitic reverends. That doesn't make you furious? Can you imagine being some hard working deputy riding in a car for 12 hours and then writing reports for a couple hours before going to your second job, and seeing Major Charles F. Smith knocking down 4 times the salary plus a new car for doing absolutely nothing?

Wagner says he will evaluate every position. I hope he unloads the dead wood.

Anonymous said...

Wagner has already stated to the leaders in the black community that he fully intends to keep CFS, Rosie, Rev Hardison, and others because he wants "to keep a handle on things within the black community...."

Wagner? He's a little boy playing in a man suit.

Anonymous said...

Are you suggesting that Wagner is planning an all-white dept?

Anonymous said...

That's what I've heard.

Anonymous said...

Pray tell how CFS who got next to zero support from the city as a whole and the black community in particular, while running as an entrenched encumbent, keep a lid on anything but a potty?

Wagner won't be folled like Hilton.

Anonymous said...

OMG, Hilton was folled?

Does that require treatment of some kind? Is that why he retired?

Anonymous said...

So, you're saying Wagner will fire all the blacks?

Anonymous said...

Wagner will eliminate all the wasteful and nonproductive positions. Some are black and some are white. I don't think CFS is a close call, do you?

Anonymous said...

You can't fire all the folks of any one color. Remember Eddie Jordan?

Anonymous said...

Charles F. Smith is planning on running next time. He has experience and no education. I hear that is all that you need.

Anonymous said...

Hey, "We Saw That." Sorry I missed telling you happy birthday on Nov. 6!

Anonymous said...

Grow up! Ain't no way CFS and Roosevelt are would be let go by either Slocum or Wagner. Herman Walters is another story. Wrong color for automatic job security. It's called political reality.

Anonymous said...

Really???? Sunday, November 11, 2007 3:30:00 PM ???

Let's see how much guts you have...Name one white guy that fits your description.

Anonymous said...

Aw, come on. You worthless parasites know who you are. So does everyone else. The line deputies talk about you constantly and not in a nice way. You need to have someone who can type, help you prepare your resume'.

Anonymous said...

No, you come on. You don't have to agree with it, but nonetheless, many worthless parasites are employed by government at all levels. If the guys you think are worthless were let go from the Sheriff's Dept., they'd probably be hired by another governmental body faster than some young person who comes back home with an MBA can find a job at a good private company. If you want to be elected as Sheriff, Mayor or to any other political office that has a sizeable staff and stay in office, you have to employ some good workers and some do nothings who help you politically. I didn't make the rules, I just know how it works.

It is important to be informed about the shuck and jive party antics taking place as the means to electing a Republican majority in the LA State Legislature. Apparently, widespread, bipartisan criticism of the negative campaign spots produced and paid for by the La Committee for a Republican Majority (LCRM) caused the Vitters, Boysie Bollinger and company to regroup in such a manner as to continue the mudslinging while deflecting the heat. How convenient! Not to mention, questions were being asked about how the money flowed to and from the LCRM PAC. It was formed exactly like Tom Delay's PAC in Texas that resulted in his downfall. But now, as a result of forming a brand new PAC, a Washington lawfirm can take the heat for the money flowing into all those nasty ads and spots. This after the LCRM ran one of the dirtiest radio spots ever on Chris Roy, Jr. leading up to the Oct. 20 primary election.

Please read the following that was posted on Cenlamar:
"So a PAC named Louisianans United for Reform has decided to adulterate our soundscape with 10 days of negative radio advertisements produced by Media Strategies and Research of Fairfax, Virginia. The goal, of course, is to distort the record of Chris Roy, Jr. How convenient for little Lance Maxwell: now that he has condemned the LCRM for airing an egregious and misleading advertisement about Chris Roy, Jr., during the jungle primary, a new PAC that ostensibly supports the reformation of the political process will dump $9,000 of more political toxic waste in Rapides and Vernon parishes on Maxwell’s behalf and on behalf of the LCRM. Out with the LCRM and in with Louisianans United for Reform: this is the new strategy of which Lance Maxwell will be the main beneficiary and the main accomplice. And yes, it is a strategy, for all the same Republican operatives, DC lobbyists and political donors connected with the LCRM are involved in one way or another with Louisianans United for Reform. So much for actual reform.

Louisianans United for Reform was incorporated on 1 NOV 2007, approximately three weeks after Lance Maxwell repudiated the radio advertisement the LCRM aired against Democratic candidate Chris Roy, Jr. A new PAC that was established for the sole purpose of attacking candidates for the state House who happen to have the letter D attached to their names during the final weeks of the runoff period, Louisianans United for Reform has a very specific purpose and a very warped agenda. The organization’s Chairman is a certain Mark Zelden of New Orleans, LA, and the person Mark Zelden paid to file the paperwork for the incorporation of this new PAC goes by the name of James Burland.

Mark Zelden is a lobbyist who earns his living cavorting with operatives and other special interests in Washington, DC. He has worked for The c2group, a lobbying firm that represents many industries, and Murray, Sheer & Montgomery Consultants, a lobbying firm in Washington, DC. A DC lobbyist who has contributed to all that is wrong with Washington, DC, politics is now the standard bearer for reforming politics. One wonders if this Mark Zelden ever learned the definition of hypocrisy."

It is so sad that you accept this as inevitable. I differ from you in that I think that we should demand that our money be spent on worthwhile things and productive people. Your passive acceptance of this kind of missuse of public funds and betrayal of public trust is a large part of the problem. Don't you have any sense of right and wrong or objective fairness?

Hey mental midget. Lamar is a Roy lackey. He's Jacques' houseboy. Why in the world would anyone repost something from his blog about that race involving his masters brother?

It shows your igorance and the waterboy's immaturity. Did that barely out of diapers blogger really call someone older and more experienced than him "little?"

What qualifications does he have to be a mayor's assistant? Oh that's right, he writes positive blogs about his employer's brother. Now that's a profile in courage.

Liberals -- get a Clue! Blogging didn't get Howard Dean elected, or that guy that ran against Lieberman, and it won't help in La politics either.

God, you liberals are stupid!

Anonymous said...

sorry... forgot to sign my name.

Anonymous said...

Ah, no wonder, Fat, Senile and Angry. Your name says it all.

OK, touche about Lamar. I'm not a fan of his either. But, I did read about the content of his story from another source as well. I should have cited that publication rather than Lamar. In this instance, the messenger got in the way of the story. I do think the info about the PAC is important. I do think the spots were over the top ugly and inaccurate. But I do agree with you that Lamar has no business referring to Lance as "Little Lance." Pot calling the kettle black.

BTW, I take offense to being called a liberal just because you don't agree with something I said. For the record, I am not. I voted for President Bush twice and for Bobby Jindal. Would you like it if I called you a right wing nut job just because you support a Pentecostal Republican for state rep? I think not and I have no intention of doing so. If you must stoop to name calling, you're just as bad as Lamar, the person you condemn for doing the same.

You're condemning Lamar for saying something he never said.

Figures.

Some people are ugly just for the sake of being ugly.

Anonymous said...

So, it was the pointecoupeedemocrat not Little Lamar who called Lance "Little Lance?" Ok, I got it.

Just saw the negative spot on Slocum. If I had to guess, I think it will prove to be too little too late. Seems like most folks I know have already made up their mind who they're voting for.

Great News:

Lance Maxwell paid up his expired occupational license, it is back dated now as we speak. Be ready for Lance's newest scam to try and present it as unexpired. Problem is, Roy camp has copy of the expired license and is ready to use it. Watch Lance self destruct on this one. It will be worth watching.

Anonymous said...

Roy's whole campaign revolves around an ocupational license.

Are you kidding?

Anonymous said...

I think the point the previous poster was trying to make was that you took something from Lamar's blog and brought it here as something important for all to read.

He was dead on. Lamar should have no say in that race on his blog.

I took it that he was referring to Lamar as liberal, and his blogging as trying to affect the race, but I could be wrong.

Anonymous said...

PS: I left out that I found it ironic that the word hypocrisy was used on that post from Lamars blog supporting his employers brother.

Is that not the very definiton of hypocrisy?

Anonymous said...

I heard Slocum on TalkRadio this am was embarrassed for him. His grammar is awful! If elected, he will represent this parish as head of a very powerful agency and will be speaking in public and making statements to news sources where such glaring errors will certainly reflect badly this area.

Anonymous said...

Watch for the Maxwell people to try and rewrite history to protect their boy from the truth. Since February Lance Maxwell has claimed to be a senior partner in the firm Maxwell and Maxwell.

On October 12, someone asked the Tax Assessors office about Maxwell's occupational license. Three days later Maxwell and Tom Wells came in and received a temporary license covering Maxwell from February 1- April 30, 2007. He couldn't receive a permanent license because he didn't carry any documentation with him. As of Wednesday of last week, Maxwell still didn't have a real occupational license or a phone number for a law firm he is senior partner of.

Maxwell must have paid up and shown the assessor documentation of his court appointed curatorships, because now his people are saying Roy has been lying about this.

Problem for Maxwell is that all of this can be easily proven.

He is now trying to say his number is listed in the User Friendly Phonebook. Funny because the number he listed actually belongs to Tom Wells.

".....he will represent this parish as head of a very powerful agency and will be speaking in public and making statements to news sources where such glaring errors will certainly reflect badly this area."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA....

Maybe you can give him some pointers..... ;)

Anonymous said...

Well, maybe I overstated just a little but I think our sheriff should know basic grammar and be able to speak somewhat eloquently in public.

Anonymous said...

They didn't go to the Tax Assessor. They went to the Rapides Parish Tax Office.

Anonymous said...

I think your putting too much stock in whether people care if he is a lawyer or not.

That might be a big deal for Chris, Jacques, John, and Jay, but the ratings of lawyers rank right down there with car salesman.

They're about to make a big deal out of nothing. Remember Rick Farrar? He made a huge deal out of something that ending up killing him. Same thing's about to happen to Roy if he thinks a license is that big of a deal to the voters. Most people don't even know you have to have one to be a lawyer.

Anonymous said...

It's not about being a lawyer. It's about how Maxwell has been selling a lie to voters for the past six months. He gave himself an important sounding title in a non-existent business and spread the lie in all of his campaigning. It's the same as lying on your resume. He is applying for a job, and he lied on his resume.

Anonymous said...

I heard Lance had gotten a license, the question is, will he alter the issue date and try to fool the voters again.

I called information today and there was no listing for Lance Maxwell or Maxwell & Maxwell law firm. However I did give them the number provided by Lance and it came back to Tom Wells.

Anonymous said...

Most people don't even know you have to have one to be a lawyer.

Monday, November 12, 2007 7:59:00 PM

Yeah, Lance didn't know you had to have an occupational license to practice law either.

Anonymous said...

"Remember Rick Farrar?"

Uh...no.

Who is that???

Anonymous said...

I read everything that Lamar posted, and as usual his message is nothing more than last years birdnest.

You all have to realize something about Lamar. He has quite a vocabulary, but no ability to think. All he does is take what is fed to him, re-write it and post it as his own work.

He's kinda like those swamp birds who regurgitate half digested fish for their young to eat. Problem is the voters are much more aware of how worthless his information is and how he slants his opinion towards the radical left.

In other words, those of us who have the capacity for independent thought, aren't eating his slop.

I have to admit, Lamar and his tie-dyed buddies fooled enough gullible Alexandria voters to place Roy in office, but he will be a one term wonder. After 3 more years of screw ups, voters will be glad to axe Roy and his staff.

Anonymous said...

Lance received his occupational license Nov. 8, last week. He will try to show he has had it since Feb. 1st. This will be proven another scam.

Documentation can be provided.

Anonymous said...

Dislike for Lamar does not change the basic facts about the LCRM and Louisianians United for Reform. Take Lamar out of the picture and research the facts about the two groups. Read The Advocate, the Times Picayune and some of the mainstream political websites. These PAC's are responsible for the kind of dirty politics that offends most people. If Democrat PACs were doing this, in these races, they would also deserve to be called out on it.

So much for Governor-elect Jindal allowing the Legislature to operate like those in other states who choose their own leadership. Jindal's announcement yesterday served to end the campaigning for Senate president. It was indeed an anointment by the Governor. Of course, during the anointment, he had the nerve to claim the Senate made its own choice. Typical Louisiana politics. So much for reform, so much for a new day for Louisiana.

Anonymous said...

I hear that Slocum is trying to pus out on the debate tonight. Let's watch and see what happens.

Anonymous said...

What debate?

Anonymous said...

Kalb @ 6:00

Anonymous said...

Don't forget the sheriff's debate at 6 pm.

Anonymous said...

Message to Royal Alexander-- I fully support you, buddy. But please don't go places with Delores and John Brewer. David Brewer is fine, but, hey, Delores and John will hurt rather than help you.

Anonymous said...

Who cares whom Royal hangs out with. It's not like he's gonna reject ANY registered voter who's pledging to support him.

Anonymous said...

Round 1 of the Sheriff's Debate on KALB--I'd say it's a draw. Yes, Wagner comes across as more educated with a better command of proper grammar. But Slocum's law enforcement experience comes across when he speaks. Going to watch Round 2.

Anonymous said...

When they are heading into a commercial break and the camera shows a wider shot of the room Slocum and Wagner look like they're furious to have to sit in the same room together.

Anonymous said...

Delores and John Brewer are good people. Ask anybody who knows them and they will say the same (except Deborah Broussard).

Anonymous said...

I know the Randolph's very well and I think both of them believe the Brewers are good people, too. Why don't you ask them and report back what they say on this blog? I'll bet they'll say nice things. It is sad that someone feels like they still have to write about Delores on this blog. She's not running for public office now. It's also unfortunate that some people still want to write ugly things about the Randolph's. Again, they are not running for anything either. I wish people would just leave the Brewer's and the Randolph's alone.

Anonymous said...

Who cares about any of that, let's discuss the Sheriff's debate!!! Chuck is kicking butt!

Anonymous said...

The Brewers can actually help Royal, it's Rosanne he has to worry about.

Anonymous said...

Cool! The return of Biff, Spanky and WeSawThat.

Anonymous said...

No one can help Royal. Being endorsed by every DA in the State is enough to get Caldwell in. Royal is a good person and I hate that he doesn't have a chance, but he doesn't have a chance.

Anonymous said...

Wow Chucks sucks at debates.

It's sad when a guy with a GED can make you turn red, choke, and get all dry-mouthed.

Anonymous said...

They both sound like shit.

Anonymous said...

Man, they tried to set Slocum up with that question about how was he going to do his contractor business and be sheriff. He said something to the effect that he "drove nails" on weekends to feed his family because he only made $900 a month while sticking to his law enforcement profession. Damn, that was a pretty good back in your face answer. I bet the lady who asked that was red faced.

Anonymous said...

Slocum was evasive and angry.

Anonymous said...

I don't know these candidates except thru their respective TV interviews but Slocum does not appear to be very bright. He is a terrible speaker yet appears very angry and arrogant as well as dismissive of voter questions and concerns. I am also amazed that his whole campaign is based on his "experience and preparation" yet his answer to everything is that he wasn't in charge and had nothing to do with policy or direction decisions. Why doesn't tell him that those two positions confict and are actually mutually exclusive. He campaign is based on 18 years of loyal inactivity.

Anonymous said...

Everyone needs to go to KALB web site and watch the Les Golman interview...Michelle Goddard at her best....hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Anonymous said...

I don't know why everyone is so surprised. It's pretty much common knowledge that Michelle and Golman have been "Friends with benefits" for years. Even when she married into the Tudor family, she and Les kept up their friendship. She was such an embarrassment to the Tudors, they tossed her.

Anonymous said...

Michelle needs to let things alone, she is just digging a deeper hole..so happy to have Farrah Reyna back, but she does look tired.

Anonymous said...

The opportunity that was missed was when one stated he had been on a leave of absence from the Sheriff's Department for 5 months and then later in responsen to a question about arrests stated he had made an arrest 2 months ago.

Are you perhaps new to either the state or politics? What upsets the liberal Damnocrats is that the Republicans have gotten smart and begun using their tactics. Lance maxwell got his occupational license last Thurs. Nov. 8th.

I looked for his phone number in the ATT phone book, no number, the red Rapides phone book, no number, the User Friendly phone book and he has Tom Wells number listed in it as his home and office.

This kid is a joke.

Anonymous said...

How many people do you think looked in their AT&T phone book for Lance's number after he called attention to it on TV today? lol

Now they know he doesn't have a phone.

Anonymous said...

Ronnie, nobody cares.

Your bitter, we know, get over it.

Anonymous said...

Lance is paying for TV ads to tell everyone he doesn't have a phone. The number listed in user friendly is billed and belongs to Tom Wells.

It will come out later this week about Lance getting the occupational license last Thursday and also that it was back dated to Feb 1st. I hope Jimbo's sister-in-law doesn't get in trouble.

Anonymous said...

After the Farrar defeat (pretty big by the way), and Jindal rejecting McPherson, it will be interesting to see how local voters respond to the very negative campaigns of Wagner & Roy.

My guess is it turns voters off, they stay home, and the leaders in the primary win again.

Anonymous said...

hahahaha, do you really think people don't know Maxwell is behind all the dirt being mailed out? Everybody knows.

Anonymous said...

How is Lance's neck? I read his lawsuit from the whiplash. Did he save the neck brace? They tell me there is a picture floating around of him in the brace.

WOW, Bubba James the new RPSO Uniform commender. Slocum must need
the votes? Oh!! Roy James, Jr a federal employee "The Jones Act". Bubba why are you hiring Slocum supporters, using government telephones, computers, and using his position to support Slocum. I wish the RPSO uniform division good luck plus the other 5 people who has has been promised the job.

Anonymous said...

Anybody else in the same boat as I? I voted for Slocum first time around, after some research and watching the forum, I am changing my vote Saturday.

Anonymous said...

Is it true that Slocum's Campaign Hqs phone number is called forward to a secretary's desk at the Sheriff's Office?

Anonymous said...

After hearing Michele Godard on KSYL this morning and hearing some the callers I am impressed with how totally sleazy Slocum's campaign has become. He is sure making a lot of threats and promises about our money.

Anonymous said...

First, let me start by saying that I am neither a Slocum or Wagner supporter--I live just outside Rapides. As a former journalist, I am appalled at KALB and its General Manager and News Director. Michelle Godard made an absolute fool of herself and her boss, Les Golman by interviewing him on the 10 p.m. news the other night and strong arming him into defending her. Number one, she had no business doing that story about the so called intimidated deputies last week. Any respected journalist at any respected news outlet would have waited until after the election to look into such allegations. This is a new all time low for Michelle, Les and for KALB-TV. Unless you have the FBI or the Ethics Board or another official outlet reporting foul campaign play, you don't broadcast wild accusations made by deputies in the opposing camp in the final weeks of the election. When good journalists get such a call with such accusations, they tell the accusers that they'll look into it AFTER the election. News MUST make every effort to be impartial during elections! Let the people choose rather than trying to influence the election. Folks, that is clearly what's happening here. Michelle is a supporter of Wagner and is making an attempt to smear his opponent to influence the election. Not to mention that she made this and just about every story she covers about HER rather than the news. Number two, when invited to participate in a debate, candidates often negotiate the terms. Slocum had every right to ask that Michelle not be one of the moderators in order for him to participate. Why couldn't Michelle step out, leave it alone and go on? But no, she has to make a huge issue ABOUT HER and stick a mic in her bosses face on TV and ask him loaded questions aimed at defending her honor. What a joke!

Why in the world would Les do this? He and Michelle should be canned.

Anonymous said...

What about filing a complaint with the FCC? Although I hear its a bullshit agency with no teeth.

Anonymous said...

This is one of the most disgusting displays of partisanship by a TV Network I have ever seen! I agree with the former poster. Michelle has tried to make this about her. I'll never watch that network again. I was kind of on the fence earlier, but I have to say, I'll definitely vote for Slocum after all of this. This is slimy.

Anonymous said...

Sure sems like these Slocum supporters are trying their best to flog this horse past death to plumb dead. Mighty pious people to be so offended.

Personally I think they are full of shit and just useing the incident to try and gain political advantage. Probably not working and causing more harm then good. The debate demonstrated Slocum is a boob and an ass kisser. All that education, loyalty and training and he has not effected any change.

He had a lot of influence. Seems like William Earl's lackey and William Earl wants him to continue to be a suck up.

Anonymous said...

Yeah right. Sure "sems" (seems) like everyone is entitled to their own opinions, no matter how lame they are.

Anonymous said...

Normally those that concern themselves with misspelling have little else to offer. Nothing like a spelling police person.

Anonymous said...

First of all I am not a supporter. I was on the fence until after the debate and the KALB coverage. Now I am a supporter but I am back on the fence. I think I will vote for the candidate if I get off this fence. I was totally appalled by the KALB reporting, you know they are supporters. I have been supporting the candidate for this whole time and I will stick with him. I am a complete dumbass.

Is there some journalstic rule that the Editor of a newspaper can recommend whom (is that the proper word spelling police?) but a TV Station cannot get into, on or off of the fence?
