Name anything that Roy has done that is considered volunteer work. What organizations has been affiliated with besides law stuff. What has he ever done for this city besides sue it. Why did he enter in this race at the last minute? Why has he stated that he wants to be in Washington in 4 years? The coucil will run amuck in the year+ time it will take to learn the ropes of the city. The learning curve is tremendous. Ask anyone who has ever worked with the city elected leaders. Ned AND Deborah love Delores. That's a fact. Ned is DEFINATELY speaking for himself on this matter. DB, Albin and company are so accustomed to pushing Ned around that they cannot stomach any actual push back from HIM. HE does not WANT to endorse DB because of the press conference that made allegations against the administration and the door to door attacks on his character. Call and ask him--any day any time. I talked to Deborah today. She is MUCH more upset about this than Ned. She would have supported an endorsement. But it's not what NED wanted to do.
hahahahaha. ok, enough. the provosty firm is about to sic one of their associates on us. understanding that the hiring of new associates has been put on hold pending the election.
ned, and the delores' camp treatment of him is the real poignant story about this election. delores is running as ned, and not ned, treating him like dirt when it's to her perceived advantage. it's no way to treat a man who gave the better part of his working life for the betterment of alexandria.

I hear Ned, Deborah, and her campaign manager David are all upset about the decisions Delores has made.
Why would Ned endorse a candidate who has questioned the legality of his decisions?
She's accusing Ned of entering into an illegal contract. Why would Ned's wife be more loyal to Delores than her own husband? Why would David, Ned's brother-in-law, want to go after Ned?
Delores allowed her campaign to be hijacked by Roy Fletcher, not because she was committed to doing the right thing, but because she felt pressured to win at any cost.
It's a very sad week for Alexandria.

I think that Delores, like Ned, is being used as a tool to maintain the financial and influence advantages of certain greedy manipulators. I am sure that Mr. and Mrs. Randolph would have liked to maintain some semblance of influence in the city and related business but, if the truth be known, they will find a warmer reception and continued influence with Roy, who has a genuine respect and affection for the Randolphs and their accomplishments.
Brewer seems to lack substance, independence, and morality or ethics. Good riddance.
Ned knows that what Delores calls the democratic machine is just a bunch of young enthusiastic supporters that are putting their heart and their efforts into this campaign. He remembers when all that was about him.

I think Provosty courted Ned pretty heavily and actually gave him free office space for a while until somebody pointed out the ramifications of that action. I think that as Ned's 2nd floor allies were stripped away (by Myron and Albin) and Ned's infirmity advanced, Albin sort of became the surrogate mayor making decisions for Ned and money for Albin. I don't know how KJ weaves into that picture but he and Albin seemed to work in tandem to keep the lid on and keep CFS out of the mayor's office. All this enabled the Provosty firm to keep their other profit balls in the air, including the England Authority and Cleco. Just my guess, mind you, but it tracks what most of us observed.
Delores has blown it for herself, her family and PS&D. Toss them all out on the street. She listened to Fletcher and they're all going down with the ship.
Albin will hold on to power as counsel to the England Authority. PS&D will maintain in power as Robinson is counsel to GAEDA and I do believe ACCED and the Incubator. Doggett represents the Port. So they're still in the power hunt to control certain portions of Alexandria, but guess what folks. All, but the England Authority comes to the City for money sooner or later.
Myron kept his seat on the council so he can control somethings from there.
The only one left to fight for herself is Bridgett. She's still got her position on the England Authority and landlord Myron to look out for her.

Then, a funny thing happened. A visit by Jaques Roy, an obscenity laced phone call from Antoon and a visit from Chicken Tommy himself helped Ned and Deborah "see the light". Apparently, Ned needs a deadhead apppointment and Delores needs the consulting jobs that Antoon can provide. So much for 50 years of friendship.

In regards to Jacques and the Cleco debacle:
Why would they (BB, the dudes from BR, and EMS) sue Cleco when Cleco said they would pay everything up front without a suit.
If EMS gets money (50% or less of total refund) does Sansing get any? Sansing was relieved from duty by Pugh. Since EMS is a Limited Liability Company does it not need one persons name on the contract? If so then can Sansing still get paid by Pugh himself? If Sansing gets paid does Jacques not get paid (since he took over Sansing as a client for Roy Sr.)?
If Jacques gets paid with the money that Cleco would've willingly returned the Alexandria then it seems that Jacques played a part in orchastrating the "sue fest" to line his own pockets.
It is a tangled web of deceit and needs close attention. It was unnecessary to sue Cleco because they would've paid us for the mistake. It is so convienent that EMS was poised to strike as soon as the city contracted them. Energy Management Services implies the management of energy not "Fuck Cleco, let's take 'em for a ride at the citizens of Alexandrias expense."
Quit trying to convolute any already complex issue. Looks like you're taking a page from the Brewer playbook--- either that, or you're an EMPLOYEE of Cleco.
The COA probably felt the need to sue Cleco in order to have some leverage over any potential agreement. The audit is now being performed by a group that has previously done hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars in business with Cleco, including training on the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation (anyone see the irony?), so their objectivity is already questionable.
You're IMPLYING that Roy has some sort of backdoor agreement with Sam Sansing, by IMPLYING that Sansing may have some backdoor agreement with EMS.
Both allegations are untrue.
Quit trying to group all of these lawsuits together, because while they're related in the same story, they each involve a different set of circumstances.

Did you ever think that Cleco might have chosen to drag this on past the statute of limitations if the city had not filed suit timely?
The decision to sue Cleco could ONLY have come from the Mayor. To suggest otherwise is classic Brewer mispeak. The responsibility for the decision to sue Cleco, the hiring of the lawyers to sue cleco, the terms of their retainer, and the authority to file the suit could ONLY have come from Mayor Randolph. Don't you remember when the City Attorney announced that decision. This, once again, is putting the blame squarely on Randolph. The Charter clearly states (though Bridget does not seem to grasp) that the exclusive control and direction of the legal department is vested in the Mayor.
Ned is doing much better now mentally. I wonder if Delores was slipping him some toxin to make him weaker. The entire administration seems to have benefitted greatly from her departure.
Sec. 4-01. General provisions.
(A) All divisions, departments, offices and agencies shall be under the direction and supervision of the mayor.
(B) The salaries of directors of divisions and departments appointed by the mayor shall be set by the mayor subject to approval of the city council. The salary of any employee of the city directly appointed by the city council shall be fixed by the city council.
Sec. 4-02. Legal division.
(A) The head of the legal division shall be the city attorney who shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by the council, and shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor. He shall be an attorney licensed to practice in the courts of Louisiana with at least five (5) years' experience in the practice of law.
(B) The city attorney shall serve as chief legal adviser to the mayor, city council and all divisions or departments, offices and agencies, shall represent the city in all legal proceedings and shall perform any other duties prescribed by this charter or by ordinance.
(C) Any assistant city attorneys authorized by the city council shall be appointed by the city attorney and serve at his pleasure.
(D) No special legal counsel shall be employed by the city except by written contract and approval of the city council.
